Thanking you drommy

PollyPoo · 27/10/2010 21:35

Lozza good luck for tomorrow!

Silv I am v Angry on your behalf. Tis totally wrong that they are basically bullying you. I think doctors forget that you are a person and you do actually have a brain, not to mention a say in your treatment. I hope HI is taking good care of you and this little bubba of yours decides to play ball and arrive all by his/her self!

Plz to not talk about mince pies... I LOVE them and we have not got any. Sad

rocketleaf · 27/10/2010 21:48

sending more baby laying vibes your way silver Is not good they are pressuring you :( I am visualising a small version of me inside your tum giving the lil fell a prod in the backside to get im moving. Hope that's not too uncomfortable having us both in there.

Spotted those asos pants when i first went looking for mat cloths on there. On wish list, but i can't really justify buying them yet as bump is not so much a bump as a carb tyre.

(have been known to do the dirty while the cat is asleep on the bed I don't think he even woke up)

rollerbaby · 27/10/2010 21:49

silv they can't force you, so you could always ring and put induction back to Monday of next week say. That is still within 42 weeks...Drom's suggestion is a great one - really near me too - so will come and say hello if you do decide to come this way...

Muser · 27/10/2010 21:51

Boo to crappy doctors. I hope the baby springs out before they get your hands on you.

laurie I was not at all excited by any of my scans except the last one when we knew everything was fine. I couldn't speak at the first one. Or afterwards. About an hour later I texted TBG "oh my god we're having a baby."

laurielou · 27/10/2010 22:15

Thank you all, thankyou.

silver I'm sending some nipple tweaks & baby laying vibes you way.

laurielou · 27/10/2010 22:15

Oh, & I have done another test Blush & yep, still diffed.

CluckyKate · 27/10/2010 22:19

What a complete load of shit Silv - cervix has never been stretched before???? True but why the fuck would an early induction help???? Complete load of bollocks Angry Angry Angry

You can still decline an induction and insist on monitoring - it's your choice, not theirs and they cannot force you to do anything against your will.

Grrrr - this kind of thing makes me mad

OkieCokie · 27/10/2010 22:31

Silv did they give you any medical reason why they want to induce you other than non streching cervix? I thought the main reason for induction was due to placenta not beimg effective anymore which tends to occur post 42 weeks. hmmmm? Anyway, you may just want to get it over with and go with what they suggest. However, I would not feel pressured if that is not want you want.

Backinthebox · 27/10/2010 22:49

Silver ask the reflexolgist for some farily full-on baby prodding treatment. I'm not going to make any recommendation though wrt the doctors and induction, but I do think 40+11 is a couple of days early to panic. DD was born on 40+9, and they hadn't even booked me in - they were going to look at me at 40+10 and make a booking then. Get wriggling on the ball though, that's good. And the secks, yes. Although it seems I will be forever remembered among the FESHes as being the one who bonked 2 babies out! Blush

SilverSky · 28/10/2010 08:52

Morning y'all.

Thanks for all the support and advice. Going to ask reflex lady to give me everything she's got to get this cozy baybee shifted.

Chances are things won't happen til Saturday and I will be 40+12 then.

Medical reason wasn't really given other than we don't let mothers go over 40+12, which I know is policy however I have come round to the plan and I am going to attend my appt tmw morning anyway. May as well.

Have handed hoss over so can spend next coupla days getting sorted.

How essential is a breast feeding pillow??

PollyPoo · 28/10/2010 09:03

Morning Silver. Glad you are feeling good about the plan. It is really important you are comfortable with it - after all it is your body and your baby. I'm still hoping you manage to bounce this baybee out without help though. Grin

Casserole · 28/10/2010 09:07

Was talking to my midwife friend alst night as another friend is booked for induction - she said to have lots of doggy style sex with deep penetration Blush as apparently tis best position for getting the spermz onto the cervix and ripening it to either get your into labour on your own, or at least ripen it enough so that if they do induce, hopefully the pessary alone will be enough and no drip etc needed.

This is the second time today I have typed the above and it's only 9am. This somehow doesn't feel right Grin

I did buy a breastfeeding pillow but only a cheapy v-shaped one from dunelm, was less than a tenner. It was ok. I found the arm of the sofa more useful in the early days till I got bed feeding cracked and then all I did was lie down whenever I could to feed!

PollyPoo · 28/10/2010 09:12

Silv I didn't bother with a bf pillow - just used cushions or pillows to start with. Turned out I have defective norks anyway, so only BF for a month. Sad Might be wise to see how you get on without a special pillow first, you can always invest in one later if you think it is necessary.

laurielou · 28/10/2010 09:51

I'm having a baby Shock Grin

Not right now, obviously. Scan was, well, bonkers really. Very clear, could see baby moving around, heartbeat, cord forming - its madness! I'm only 9+3. We even have some pictures.

I managed not to scream / cry / throw up. Instead I just looked literally Shock & kept saying how mad it was.

Scan lady was lovely, & laughed at us being frauds & not needing FC as we managed it all on our own Grin

Despite all this, is still doesn't seem 100% real, but a bit more real than yesterday.

Silver I'm glad you're feeling a bit better this morning. Eh, good luck if you follow cass advice.

TwinkleToes76 · 28/10/2010 10:05

Oh, how lovely Laurie!

MrsFC · 28/10/2010 10:26

Lovely lovely lovely news lorry. You are actually having a baby - Fact!

silv I had a V pillow & liked it, but I still needed loads of others as well at the beginning, before I got the hang of it. Then I was like you cass feeding lying down whenever I got the chance...

The other thing no one remembers to tell you is how you are IMMEDIATELY dying of thirst the minute they latch on - so for the days when HI is not there at your beck & call it could be worth setting up a table with permanent supply of bottled water on near where you thing you migt be feeding.

Ariesgirl · 28/10/2010 10:42

Lozza I actually had a tear then. Really amazing. Well done you!

SilverSky · 28/10/2010 11:12

Yay for mumTobeLozza! Lovely lovely news. Now sell the rest of your piss sticks on eBay.

castanets I hears ya!

OkieCokie · 28/10/2010 11:12

Great news Laurie. Scans are amazing and especially amazing when you have waited so long to see!

Silv glad you are coming round to the idea. I had a V shaped pillow too which I liked very much and it is multi functional.

Today I got a semi lie in. My family are pretty noisy in the morning and then I got a call to say Mr C had forgot to take mini C's nursery bag in with him so I had to get up and drop it off. Anyway, since I shelved the chutney making yesterday in favour of watching a film I will make chutney today.

OkieCokie · 28/10/2010 11:13

Moo are you in labour after having teh sechs this morning?

Scorpette · 28/10/2010 11:34

I'm glad you're finally starting to believe what WE already know, Lozza [hgrin] Awww, so glad you had a lovely scan and could see your amazing baybee Fo Real! And v good that Scan Lady was so nice - it must be so rewarding for the good ones to see women, esp. ones who've TTCed for a long time, viewing their longed-for baybees for the first time. I couldn't do that job, because I'd be crying all the time (esp. cos there's sad parts to their job too)!

Silver, am glad you're feeling better about the plan now and that you're taking steps to make it your own. I guess it's a sort of 'if you can't beat them, join them' thang. Reflexology sounds a good idea (it's all about the inner ankle when you want to give birth, apparently). Sending you lots of 'give birth noooooooooooooow' vibes anyway [hsmile]

Can I have a teeny moanette (because I never moan, after all [hhmm]). Last night was possibly one of the worst nights ever - at about 9.30pm, I started getting that horrible feeling you get when you just know you're about to spew; the painful, gagging 'here it comes!' thing. Except I didn't spew - my body just stayed like that until 3 AM! [hangry] The pain was mind-boggling. The tiredness was mental. I tried to make myself spew - I tried drinking gallons of water, I tried hitting myself in the stomach where it feels pukiest and at about 2am I even tried to put my fingers down my throat! But nothing worked. In the end, I had to sleep almost completely sat up with all the sofa cushions behind me on the bed and I've had about 4 hours sleep (although I did have a wonderful and vivid dream that I became the UK's most acclaimed and respected conceptual artist, which was v groovy. Talk about wish fulfilment!). Strangely, I feel only averagely bad today, which is a small blessing. Blahblahblah MeMeMe.

rollerbaby · 28/10/2010 11:45

lorry that news is the best. I am glad you are happy. It IS all so surreal and will continue to be so, right up until you pop I think... I still can't believe a baybee is coming outta here.

silver I hope you are having your ankles pummelled.

okie/cass the doggy style invitation got rejected for Mr Moo's run and Hairy Moo scratching at door during my seduction routine. Not the biggest erotic turn on. Mr Moo says not to worry, I don't need to actually enjoy it. I beg to differ, especially as may be the last time for my beautifully intact vejayjay. I'm trying again later after the cleaner leaves.

I'd like to watch a film today and slob but feel as though I should be more productive when cleaner is here. She must think I'm a right lazy bitch.

On November thread some poor woman's baby has kicked and broke her rib. OUCH.

rocketleaf · 28/10/2010 12:53

moo who cares what the cleaner thinks? You are about to drop a sprog and you are keeping her in work so slob away, I say!

silver glad you are feeling a bit better about it all, still hoping its not necessary and the foot fiddler does their thang.

lozzer glad the scan went well, sounds lovely! :o I completely understand how you felt before it tho. Still doesn't feel really to me and I don't think I can truly feel comfy with this until I see it in black and white. Looking forward to it a bit more after hearing about yours and since my diffed friend said the centre I will be having mine in is quite nice.

scorps sorry you had such a rough night, sounds horrendous, poor lamb.

I cant wait for today to be over and my weekend to begin! Bored with this working malarkey now.

rollerbaby · 28/10/2010 14:54

silver how was the foot rub?

Guys I am utterly knackered today. I don't think i've felt this tired in AGES. Supposed to be out tonight. Have zero energy to do anything apart from go back to bed. It's quite weird actually. I wonder if this means anything...
