...and pies!

SilverSky · 22/10/2010 10:57

Nothing wrong with pies I tell thee!

Casserole · 22/10/2010 11:01

That blog has made me feel completely inadequate.

Muse my maternity trousers actually fell down once last time. At work. In the car park. I caught them around mid thigh Blush

Thanks for kindess. I am officially in the horrors. FULL of cold, sicking and 2 x 2 hour exams tomorrow, and a third on Sunday. Shit.

Someone lay a baybee and cheer me up?

Muser · 22/10/2010 11:14

Oh lord. I hope the car park was empty Cass.

Good luck with the exams.

SilverSky · 22/10/2010 11:51

Aww Cassius soz you iz so very poorly. Not nice. Is MiniStew taking a softer caring approach today? Eg sans frisbee violence.

I don't think I want to read that blog.

No news my end laydees. Thought I had cramp in the night, seems it was bladder ache.

HI is desperate for an imminent arrival. I called him earlier to tell him about the pain I've got............ In my foot. He wasn't best pleased or sympathetic. Git. Should be careful that I don't cry wolf too much!

Last night when watching tv I had an achy bump and so I told HI - his reaction was "good" and a smile cos he was hoping it meant things were happening. Personally I could have done without the comments and a nice cuddle/back rub would have been more than sufficient.

Not got a lot on today apart from MW and a jaunt over to the stables. Going to spend some quality time catching up on my Sky+ stuff. It's either that or chores. I figure as I am on my third load of washing that's the chores covered for today.

Happy Friday

Scorpette · 22/10/2010 12:16

Cass, I hope you get a break vv soon - I felt like going back to bed just reading about your current stress Sad

Silver, defo go for the Sky+ extravaganza Grin

rocketleaf · 22/10/2010 12:59

ohh cass that means it wil be over soon tho non? Want me to come round and make you hot honey and lemon with a sneaky tot of rum in it?

Backinthebox · 22/10/2010 13:07

.....And at the opposite end of the extreme, with have boxy-mum, who didn't decorate a nursery because it didn't have a roof, windows, or part of the floor. Hell, at one point when the builders got a bit gung-ho, we nearly didn't have a wall, either! Then we had child number 2, and we didn't decorate a nursery for him either. Instead we thought 'ooh, shit! Better get the extension sorted out now I don't have to work for a little while.' Hahahahaha - how long do you think the extension is going to taek. So now we have a situation where we had to buy a bigger bed so that we can get all of us in it together. Our whole house is about as big as Finnian's dressing nook. How are my children ever going to be able to express themselves to a satisfactory level? Oh, yes, hang on a minute - DD expresses herself with felt tip pens on the lovingly restored 450 year old wall of my living room. Hmm

maswera · 22/10/2010 13:45

Yeah - I reckon an ESH-style counter-blog is in order... I can provide pics of a 'nursery' of 2 square metres full of dirty washing and guitar stuff, and an entire consignment of baybee stuff so far bought comprising 3 babygros (What? I've got 7 weeks still yet.....)

Just got back from preggy pilates which was rather good (found a free one at the surestart centre nearby - saved myself a hundred notes :) ). Was followed by a 'parentcraft' class, which was OK, but did feature questions such as 'can I go to a fireworks display or will it scare my baybee'... Free kitkats though - I am pleasantly surprised by how much free stuff is on offer for preggos and baybees...

milanomum · 22/10/2010 13:53

That blog is just wrong. I bet she's a mess by now. Our nursery is the spare room where I do the ironing. The only baby-ish thing in there is the cot. DD doesn't seem to mind at all. The rest of the furniture in my house is from Ikea so I don't really care if it gets wrecked.

I'm feeling bored. I'm only about 6 weeks but feel like I should be doing pregnancy stuff or feeling more pregnant. I did manage to book my first scan though but that's not till late november - what am I supposed to do until then?! Wait! I know, I can find symptoms which might suggest I am not longer pregnant

Ariesgirl · 22/10/2010 13:56

Cass I'll come and look after mini-Stew if you want. Will he be good for me? I'm so sorry you've got so much on at the moment - exams, cold, toddler, sick and pregnancy is too much for anyone to cope with.

StiffyByng · 22/10/2010 14:28

That blog has made me feel sad and inadequate. Blob will not even have a room - he'll be sharing with a step-sibling, with a teenage/8 year old vibe.

Casserole I feel shattered reading all that - I so hope it all gets better soon.

I am keeping fingers crossed for sprogs appearing all over the place.

We had our scan yesterday - all good, thank heavens. (I had scared myself to death reading the ante-natal choices threads). So we've started properly telling people. Work was really happy for me yesterday. I bought maternity bras today-heaven, although I only realised how uncomfortable I'd been when I put one on, and some maternity trousers. I was all excited that they're two sizes smaller than I usually wear, being actually designed for a big fat tummy, but now I'm thinking waste of money as I'll get too fat for them all round soon.

scorps glad you've got good drucks. Never ever read side effect things - most of them include death, which is a bummer when you've only got a sore something or other.

I grew up with heavy smokers, and loathed it. I will keep my baby as far from smokers as I can. The smell of smoke at the moment is even more revolting than normal anyway. My father, who only gave up his 40 a day when he got the lung cancer which is now slowly killing him, still smells permanently of cigarettes even though it's been four years, and although I would let him hold the baby, if he's still around when it's born, I'll hate the smell coming back. (My mother died when I was 17 of a stroke, which I linked at the time to her smoking and can't really shake the idea, even though it may well be wrong).

MrsFC · 22/10/2010 15:10

How are the jeans muse? Staying up? I like the scarf idea the best.

I shall be very interested to see Finn carrying his projects to the desk and not writing on the wall. Good luck with that. Is that the same woman as the 'I only want wooded toys ' poster?

What a rubbish week cass. Revising sucks. Bet you know more than you think though.

I like pies.

AlpinePony · 22/10/2010 15:57

Seriously - please! None of you should be feeling low about that blog - the woman clearly needs a time-consuming hobby and a good hard fuck. And quite frankly God help those children whose mother's expectations of them are mind-boggling. The poor little buggers are probably given an organic oatcake for a birthday cake. Express themselves indeed - I think boxer 's daughter is expressing herself in a more "normal" manner. Oh and can I just say Grin at the thought of placing a potty in a toddler's bedroom on a posh mat and allowing them to express themselves via the medium of wee!

maswera · 22/10/2010 16:26

Sigh, have just waved the boyfie off for a week in Darkest Afrika. On the plus side I guess I get the bed to myself for a while... He is away a few times over the next few weeks, so no early laying for me

rollerbaby · 22/10/2010 16:47

" the woman clearly needs a time-consuming hobby and a good hard fuck"

BWAH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

It reminds me of someone I know who thinks nothing of handmaking 200 Christmas cards and all her families presents. How can people be fucking bothered??? It's taken me 3 hours to bring myself to load the dishwasher and I ain't got my baybee yet...

Stiffmeister I loved that initial "ahhhhhh" of finally slipping into maternity wear. I'm not sure it's going to be easy to 'pop' back into normal clothes that restrict your belly on the other side of this. I've been a virtual hermit today cos I can't be arsed to take my tracksuit off.

In other news, I had a long bath today and under the directions of my doula had a good booby squeeze and white stuff came out! Weirdasfuck. It didn't come out the nips, but out the bumps on the areolae. WTF is all that about - I thought it came out of your nips like tiny tears wee hole? At least the boobs are operational. Doula said was good to see beforehand so you "trust in nature" after bub gets here. Also apparently they have tummies like tiny marbles when they're born which grow to size of ping pong balls on day 10 - so again, not to feel pressure from hospy MW to feed formula early etc. Troofax.

The dog limps still... is truly sad. Dunno when he is going to get a walk next. We are doing alot of cuddling and sleeping.

MrsFC · 22/10/2010 17:17
Medee · 22/10/2010 17:29

I can empathise - I am in proper maternity wear this week, and it feels so comfy.

rollerbaby · 22/10/2010 17:34

I know, am freakazoid. Mat leave CAN get boring tho.

Scorpette · 22/10/2010 17:51

Handmaking 200 Xmas cards? Makes me glad I'm a social recluse. I just use being an Atheist as an excuse not to give them out en masse, buahahaha (I do make and give them out to closest family and friends, tho' - less than 10 cards).

I always think that people with too much time on their hands need a right good seeing-to as well. Did anyone see the bit where they've mocked up a miniature wooden kitchen in the corner of the real kitchen for their son and he's got a tiny little polishing kit for making the wood gleam as one of his 'fun' activities? Fuxache, we don't do any polishing here. We don't even own an iron. Is the flat clean? Yes? Well, fuck the rest.

I had a horrible experience about 30 mins ago - I got in from town and felt the 'uh-oh!' urge to vom. Rush to toilet and as I spew, I sort of cough-gag and some of it gets stuck at the top of my throat. I couldn't seem to swallow or take any water in, although I could breathe okay. I had to very calmly spend over 5 mins breathing slowly and stroking my throat and working it all back down... so I could vom it all and more back up properly. Pretty scary shit - and gross Sad Can I have some smooches (I've cleaned my teeth)?

SilverSky · 22/10/2010 18:19

I haz S&S all booked for next week. Bit scary to be honest. Actually saw MY MW today. I tell thee I nearly hit the deck in shock.

Oh and I really recommend not Having an appt at the surgery on the same day as the advertised Over 65s free flu jabs. It was like a bleeding mosh pit with auld bids elbowing me out the way in the rush to be at the front of the queue. I had to stand my ground and hip thrust a few away from my bump !!! Blind giffers some of 'em. I am not normally anti elderly folk but today I bloody was. There were coming at me from every angle. The car park was rammed. One ol' girl reversed her car into the brick wall three times!! Growing old doesn't really seem to appeal tbh !!!!

Muser · 22/10/2010 19:55

Ok, what would a suitable punishment be for a man who compares you to a badly stuffed sausage and a python that's swallowed a python in the same sentence?

I am wearing a stretchy clingy dress/long tshirt thing that does display the bump rather impressively and that I would not wear outside of the house as the boob/bump/arse combo is like 4 cats fighting in a condom. But seriously, is he allowed to say that?

rocketleaf · 22/10/2010 19:59

Thumb screws applied to the bollocks?

MrsFC · 22/10/2010 20:07

Ummm. No.

Not even a little bit.

Medee · 22/10/2010 20:25

Shocking, I think you need to demand something pretty as compensation.

What's an S+S, silveryone?

And smooches to Scorps.

I picked up my Mothercare wedge pillow tonight - comfy sleeping will be mine, oh yes.
