knittakid I don't know where the idea of home births being hippyish came from but out of al the women I knwo that have had a home birth I would say only one was a little bit on the placenta eating side
I'm awaiting the Ina childbirth book and have planned a meeting with my OH, mum and best friend as they will be with me during labour and I want to talk about what I'd like to happen then they can say if they have any problems with it. Basically OH will be on 1st stage of labour duty then making sure everyone has tea and cake/ sandwiches whilst the tough stuff happens (he seems a bit squeamish and I don't want him hanging around looking green and being useless).
My best friend had 2 emcs and she really wants to be with me and my mum will be fantastic at comforting me (and OH!) and pushing me through.
Maybe if you can explain what you would like your DH to do during the birth he will start to feel a bit more excited and less pessimistic.
jackinthebump it's good that you have special ante natal classes and I'm sure you're bump put others to shame! I didn't realise you could, theoretically, go into labour that early, not that you're going to of course. you sound like me except I've been telling my baby he's got to come out between 38-39 weeks and it's not on to be overdue
.
hope everyone is having a good weekend and welcome to Caboodle, you might be last to join and first to give birth with your EDD
I'm sanding down and painting the crib that OH's parents gave us yesterday. It's actually quite big so hope to put off getting a cot for a while. It has a rocking option but I've told OH we won't use it as it's making a rod for our own backs.... is that right?
