tyson sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. Hope the consultant is able to suggest something useful to help you.
((hugs)).

nymph glad you eventually managed to get some sleep.

I'm going to see a pharmacist to see if they can suggest anything to help with this rash on my arms. I look like I'm covered in insect bites!

Morning all, decided to ask my boss if I can finish work this friday rather than next. I'm getting really tired and have bad backache too. I'll be 37wks when I leave, I won't get too bored if I go to 42wks will I?

DillyDora · 29/09/2010 11:29

Hey all, so sorry to those suffering, that sounds awful Tyson Good luck with appointments, itching and sleep.

I'm pooped, wish I had knocked off work at 36 weeks. Eejit. My lovely yoga teacher is coming round tonight to do a session on how to labour round the house in the early stages, breathing and what birth partners can do which is fab. Waiting to hear about a friend who had ELCS this morning.... eeeeh! Exciting!

Hi.
Tyson that sounds awful- hope you feeling better and it goes well at the consultants.

Shield Hope they manage to sort you some cream out- itching is soo annoying!

Roo that is a good decision if it is getting to much at work- I started my leave on Monday when I was 38 weeks and so far have found lots to keep me busy- not sure when I will get round to this resting!!

Seen mw this morning, my usual one is on her hols, as soon as she felt my stomach she said that there was a lot of baby in there and it's definately not going to be a 5lber Shock so now worrying about pushing a giant baby out.
My little nephew is having an operation today- it seems wrong to be cutting a little 5 month old open Sad so hoping he is ok.

Hope you all have a good day

Hermya321 · 29/09/2010 13:23

Afternoon!!!

Tyson My word, I hope you feel better and that it goes well at the appointment.

Shield I hope the pharmacist doesn't just tells you to go to the Docs and gives you something to help.

Roo You won't regret it, I'm so glad I went a little earlier than I planned. I don't think I would have made it working until the end of this week. It's so tiring being pregnant and you need your rest before the baby comes. I've found quite a bit to keep me busy and out of the house, so I wouldnt' worry too much.

Nymph I'm glad you got some sleep.

Been out to a coffee morning and I got to hold my friends three week old little boy. He was so so cute, he weighs about 8lbs and I was looking at him and then at my bump and wondering how on earth they manage to fit themselves in there. My friend was tiny and didn't really show much, so I expect size doesn't always relate to how big the bump is.

BionicEar · 29/09/2010 13:24

Hello!

Sorry to hear peeps are suffering with lack of sleep, pains and itches.

I was up in the night about 4am to be joined by DD who woke with nightmare and then told me she having trouble with a boy in her class teasing her. Eventually got back to bed, with DD in tow - DH slept through it all. DD and I overslept, so she was late for school but sent note in to explain why and hope to have chat with teacher at end of day.

Still battling fleas - despite frontline cats and spraying house. Although to be fair have only found the odd flea on the cats now - so maybe it is working but just want them all banished now.

Catch you later as off to see another pg friend who due in next couple of weeks.

36wks and 6days (if my maths calculations are right!)

BionicEar · 29/09/2010 13:25

Duh that sound have read 35wks and 6 days! Grin

Hermya321 · 29/09/2010 13:28

Also I'm just checking, but I can take the rantadine (I have no idea how you spell it) for heartburn can't I? You can get it over the counter in boots, I was wondering about taking some at night.

lilmissmummy · 29/09/2010 13:32

hermya yes my doctor has prescribed it to me and it works wonders!!

Meant to be getting ready for my appointment! Blush

nymphadora · 29/09/2010 14:11

Dh has built the cot this after we rearranged our room to fit it in. He also hoovered thehouse. I built a bouncy chair. All seeming real now!

floozietoozie · 29/09/2010 14:35

Me like the slings too! Hello from hospital land. Just a quick update to say the op recovery is slow but Zazie is doing well, borderline jaundice so she's under the sunlamp -BUT I have fed her twice myself and a bfing nurse watched me and said it looked textbook. It was ok pain wise - it will never not hurt a bit in the beginning but my toes weren't curling - and I'm hoping to feed her regularly from now if she's able to stay off the breathing aid. Consultant is very pro bfing thank god. It's a race on now to see if I can get feeding going well enough so the unit is happy and can discharge her down here to be with me before I get kicked out discharged.

Hello especially to the other new babies and mums. I'm wondering how you are getting on? Good luck with everything and DONT FORGET YOUR LANSINOH!!! I am applying it religiously. Xxxx

Vikks · 29/09/2010 15:16

Cheeky I?m a Yorkshire girl originally, DH and I moved to Bath 12 years ago and never looked back. We?re in the city centre so only 5 minutes away from the hospital. Did you have your other children at the RUH? I?ve heard good things about the unit and liked what I saw on our tour.

Lilmiss Where are you planning on having your LO? Good luck at the appointment.

Tyson Hope you?re feeling better today. X

Floozie It?s great to hear that the Bfing is going well. I?m off to buy some Lansinoh now; good tip. Wink

38 weeks today for me! Harry can come whenever he likes (and I keep telling him). Most of my NCT buddies are parents now and I?m starting to feel a little jealous. Envy

I?m off to bounce on my ball??..

Thanks sam hermya and muggle
ok people I need advice, I've mentioned the back pain but now I'm getting a mild pain at the bottom of my stomach and top of my pelvis, I also feel nauseous. The baby is head down and in the 'right' position but I don't know if its engaged, the MW said she had difficulty finding it but nothing was in my notes. I need the loo a bit more than before and the baby has definately dropped. Is there anything else I should be looking out for? I don't want to give birth at work, even if I'm leaving a week earlier! Smile

cheekymonkeyno3 · 29/09/2010 16:18

Vikks i had my other 2 in chippenham but have had a few complications with this pregnancy so makes me too high risk. i have a lot of friends who have given birth in bath tho and they all say it is nice. been there for my scans etc but left booking the tour a bit late so that will be 10 days before i'm due. that is good you are so close, i'm a good 30 mins away but have a well planned route avoiding london rd so should be ok i hope.

Hermya i take renee tablets for heartburn and find they work brilliantly. i have some in car, every bag and pretty much every room in the house.

really starting to struggle with the school run now. it is a mile each way and i'm still determined to walk it. i've had a lot of "i thought you'd be driving by now" comments but the parking is horrendous and so stressful i don't think its worth the battle.

35+4 and still breech (turn baby turn!!)

Hermya321 · 29/09/2010 16:18

Roo There was a thread a while back where someone was complaining that they felt really rough when the baby engaged. A bit sicky and had pains in their pelvis. With labour you're looking for pain that doesn't go away but builds up, I think the general advice is to go for a bath and if the pain doesn't stop then it might be the real deal so to speak. Are you able to go home a little earlier if you feel a bit uncomfy?

Hermya321 · 29/09/2010 16:20

But then again, this is my first kid so I really really really don't know what labour looks or feels like.

RooBear · 29/09/2010 16:24

yeah I'm going home in a min, everything is pretty much done so I'm glad I'm leaving a week early now. I know wht you mean though hermya I don't know what to expect either as its my first! I'm probably reading way too much into things and am being a moaning old bat when all i've got is a bit of uncomfortableness!

Hermya321 · 29/09/2010 16:29

Roo Moan away, if you can't do it when you're nine months pregnant then when can you do it?

cheekymonkeyno3 · 29/09/2010 16:38

Roo i'm on no 3 but i'm afraid i still can't really help, every labour is different and starts differently.

my advice to everyone is if you feel like you want to be seen by a midwife, go!
with my first i had really chronic back pain and couldn't cope with the pain so went in only to be told i wasn't contracting and was told to have a bath and sent home again.
anyway went back 2 hrs later insisted that they checked and i was 9cms. not trying to scare anyone but you know your body best!! needless to say i was only 20 and it was pretty scary!!

no 2 was the same start back pain again - this time i made them check and i was 4cm. who knows this time...

SilverSky · 29/09/2010 17:25

muggle you should have told the rude moo in Debenham's that if it wasn't for customers she wouldnt have a bloody job!! How dare she! I would have been furious and probably give her what for. I am a bit like that anyway and being preggo has just enhanced my ability to say what I think!!

roo could well be contractions! If concerned phone your MW (though mine NEVER answers her mobile) or call the hospital.

I finished work just before I hit 37wks. I could have carried on for another week but I had holiday to use up and I didnt see the point in busting a gut when I need to be resting up and putting myself first for a change.

Oooohh its gone really dark here, like there is gonna be a storm!!!!!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 29/09/2010 17:49

Hurray, doesn't look like chicken pox after all. They're getting taken round the docs asap though to get the jab.

Had a lovely manicure, pedicure, shoulder and head massage today. Fab.

Tyson, migraines really are the pits.

And I've forgotten what else I was going to write. Have gone doolally.

ILGH Wow I'm so so jealous.

Is anyone else getting really really tired at the moment? I slept reasonably well last night and ended up having a nap earlier today. But I'm sat here now and all I can think about is putting my pj's on and snuggling up in bed with a good book.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 29/09/2010 20:01

Ilgh- sounds like my kind of day!

Hermya- me too! I was in bed by 9 am this morning after dropping ds off at nursery Blush

Still no baby, no show nothing! Aaaaaargh. Seeing mw tomorrow, pissed off as we were joking 2 weeks ago that we would have to rearrange to see me at home with a new baby :( ok, not pissed off, just disappointed I guess. Rambling here, sorry.

will be 40 weeks sat!!!

Hope all our mums are settling in- floozie, sonpleased you were able to bf zazie :)

lilmissmummy · 29/09/2010 22:03

My mum is coming up tonight until Sunday so looking forward to seeing her.
