Good luck Sam!
I'm sat here wishing I had some pains. Grin

39+6!!

floozietoozie · 12/10/2010 09:28

Whoop,whoop, SamB, go for it!!!

Anyone with the nesting urge, fancy coming my way and giving the house a once-over? It's messy and needs cleaning and my aunt is coming to stay tomorrow. Fortunately she's fairly spectacularly messy herself Grin.

SamanthaB123 · 12/10/2010 09:33

I think that people have had their babies but just haven't had time to post yet. Lizkins must have had hers and Sam12 looked really promising yesterday evening. It is lovely that you are all whooping for me, but it is only a period pain...and I have been here before, so I am trying to exhibit a modicome (sp?) of restraint, not least because if I end up being induced at 42 weeks I don't want to look like a total eejit Grin.

Hermya321 · 12/10/2010 09:39

sam Get bouncing!!!!

Dilly Gosh, you sound like you've been through it even without the prospect of being induced etc. Does your hospital offer mobile epidurals at all? I mean I don't know anythiing at all about them, but when I was reading my pregnancy book this was one of the options for pain relief. Could you ask for a half dose at all?

As for me, I think my bump has dropped. LO's bum is normally right under my ribs and now it's sort of lower down. He still manages to reach my ribs with his feet though. Little terror!!

jessebelle · 12/10/2010 10:24

SamB me too. Slept like a log so felt a bit disappointed at lack of 'action' during night but have woken with really bad periody back pain. But don't want to get my hopes up. I reckon I could be feeling like this for a while before anything happens.

G&T as a pain reliever sounds ACE to me - I do sometimes wonder (seriously!) if a glass or two of wine/booze would be harmful during labour - G&A made me totally nauseous last time and I'd love to be able to take something to just take the 'edge' off! Could have a couple at home before heading off? Anyone know?

Hermya - sounds like good 'engagement' news to me!

Dilly - you are one brave lady!!! good luck with the decision you go with. And talking to the midwives will surely help.

SilverSky · 12/10/2010 10:29

I am bit concerned that G&A will also make me pukey and then what am I left with???

shieldbug · 12/10/2010 11:18

Good luck to all those experiencing pains...hope this is the beginning, even if it might take a while yet. Most of my pains are due to a baby head pressing extremely forcefully on my sensitive bits! Still, it's movement in the right direction- I think if the baby had its way, it would be born by now, but my body is so not cooperating.

dilly sounds like you are being sensible in the way that you are approaching your options. It's a tough decision because there's so many unknowns about how it will progress if you go for induction. Is there anybody else with medical expertise you could talk to who might be able to give you a different perspective? Thinking of you.

floozietoozie · 12/10/2010 12:36

Silversky the GandA may make you feel abit sick at first but you'll almost certainly get over that once you get used to it.

Feeling rubbish today. Stomach is sore. Think I overdid it eith ds yesterday Sad. Also my back is getting sore from bfing without proper support/in bed too. I realised fully today that it's going totaled a while getting over this and it's already doing my head in not beingabke to do much. It makes it a million times worse that dp can't drive AND now has done something to his foot on top of not being very healthy or fit to start. Our lovely neighbour took ds to crèche yesterday with mr then dp and she's doing the same today. I feel bad asking but they did offer to help and right now we need it! Really I'd like to go to bfing support group today but lack it transport plus feeling crap plus it being other side oftuisn today rules it out unless I want to pay £££ on taxis. I also need to factor in washing at some stage today!! Dd does long feeds so there's not loads of time between them.

floozietoozie · 12/10/2010 12:37

That should be "other side of TOWN" Blush.

floozietoozie · 12/10/2010 12:40

Going TO TAKE a while..... Ffs with predictive text!

shieldbug · 12/10/2010 13:03

floozie your predictive texts made me laugh! Glad to hear you are getting help from your neighbour. I'm not very good at accepting help, but being pg has made me grateful for help when I've found it (sometimes in unexpected places) and to make me vow to be more helpful in turn when the opportunity arises. Try not to do too much but accept that recovery is going to take a while- after all, you have had surgery.Just think of how long a bloke would need after ops like that!

Forgot to say before 39+3. (come on baby!)

SilverSky · 12/10/2010 13:44

39+1

I hate predictive text too. Drives me nutzoid.

Got a pizza in the oven. I am starving and shattered all at the same time. Had a bath earlier and promptly fell asleep in it. Not good!

I am having a day where I have no motivation to do anything. So much for the list that I wrote. Though I have done two things on there. Not sure I will get much else done tho.

nymphadora · 12/10/2010 13:47

floozie if this was a normal op you wouldn't be doing anything for 6 weeks so anything is a bonus ( that's how I look at it anyway!) breast feeding is jnackering too.

Just had MW. Stitches out, pain in right side is where they stitched my womb to a muscle to anchor it so at least I know that's right. Dd3 had heel prick & weighed. Dropped to 7lb & now will work back up again.

SamanthaB123 · 12/10/2010 13:51

Nothing much else to report here, still feel the same. Have had a bit of a...ahem... 'clear out' though so that might be a good sign. Not really contracting, just uncomfortable. I feel like I am 'getting ready' rather and immenent (sp?) if you know what I mean. Any news from anyone else?

cheekymonkeyno3 · 12/10/2010 14:49

well the nesting urge has defiantly started to take over which i'm quite happy about. hope it lasts tho nice to feel motivated.
don't think things will be happening for a while still tho. feel very achy and lots of BH but i think that is very common with 3rd. my other 2 were 39+3 and 40+3 so we'll see.

37+3

Hermya321 · 12/10/2010 15:00

SamB I've felt like that the last few days, kind of like how you feel before your period begins. My friend helpfully said, 'well it could be tomorrow or it could be six weeks, you never know' Hmm. Smile and nod seems to be my standard reaction these days.

Floozie I'm sorry you're feeling so crappy. But you know if a bloke were in your position, they probably would have hired a maid and a wet nurse by now.

Silver Look at the list not as a to do list, more of a could do but only if there is no chocolate around list.

Nymph Congrats on getting your stiches out.

I hope everyone else is well.

I'm so so tired today, so I've made tea early so I can go and have a nap and not feel like I have to get up to do anything.

SamanthaB123 · 12/10/2010 15:35

Hermya I was really tired too, just woken up. Likewise dinner is ready and requires very little attention later. I do feel that the baby will be born soon enough now, I am 38+6 and basically within the next 3 weeks I will have my baby one way or another. I would quite like the baby not to be born in half term if possible as child care is more difficult, so before Friday 22nd please. I was delighted earlier having had the 'clear out'. I don't want to eat anything now in case labour does start so that I can avoid 'accidents' Blush Grin!

SilverSky · 12/10/2010 15:40

herm I am liking your perspective. I had chocolate this morning. Since my last post I have out clean washing away (a new thing for me usually dump it in spare room to multiply til I get sick of it), swept floors downstairs (HI can wash the kitchen floor), done the dishwasher and made another packet cake. So I feel all done in and now I am watching naff daytime tv.

SilverSky · 12/10/2010 15:43

Oh and the only difference here is that junior is bit quieter than normal. Am not worrying. Instead I am thinking s/he is conserving his/her energy for the big day. Whenever that will be.

moonstorm · 12/10/2010 15:46

I a hurry, so I haven't looked through the posts yet, I'll read later.

Can I do a symptom check?

Those of you how have had pains at the top of your bump, what did they feel like? I have been getting a niggly pain for the past hour and wondered if it is anything... (It's probably just wind - it sort of feels like that, but in the wronjg place)

Is a big increase in cm a sign? (sorry if TMI!) I have had loads yesterday and today - but certain it's normal mucus, not a show...

Hope all is well with everyone, I'll try to name check later.

39+5

SamanthaB123 · 12/10/2010 15:56

moonstorm I think an increase in CM is a sign, I've definately read it somewhere. Most of my pain in really low down at the moment and all of the top of the bump pain has been to do with my cyst not labour so I can't help with that part.

Xavielli · 12/10/2010 16:12

I had a bloody show last night, some crampy feelings in my back today. Still think I'm no where near going into labour (was like this for 3 days after show with DD) and am refraining from sign spotting now; Until it starts hurting (or leaking!) I'm ignoring it.

AbFabT · 12/10/2010 16:25

Just checking in! All is well here, feeding seems to be going well for day three. Am totally in love with my baby. Still have bad backache from back to back.

Silver, hope you get on with the G&A - I didn't have any sickness with it.

Good luck to you all. x

Hermya321 · 12/10/2010 17:28

Moonstorm I've got pain at the top of my bump, but for me it's nerve compression. But you never know.

Xav Ooooo cool!!!

Sam My friend ate a huge KFC when she was in labour with her son. In her defence she'd been living abroad for the whole of her pregnancy and there wasn't a KFC on the same continant as her.

Silver I've just had a two hour nap and am now watching a DVD (and eating chocolate).

Abfab Nice to see you and DS are getting on fabulously.

ILoveGregoryHouse · 12/10/2010 17:32

Still nesting, made gingerbread and shortbread biscuits. I don't feel ready though. Have quite a bit of energy during the day at the mo and managed a 2 hour nap at lunchtime. woo hoo!

Having another baby shower on Sunday so any time after that would be lovely.

AbFab any photos of Maverick?

Moonstorm, my pains just felt like normal diarreah cramps but right at the top of the bump. It was wind. Colpermin sorted it. But that was a while a go. You might well be on your way!
