I have opened the virtual gin, found the Desperate Romantics and am about to start playing I've Never. Who's with me?

fanks Gin . First doctor didn't have a clue, went to get another one who also didn't have a clue. So I am to dose him up on Piriton again today and go back in the morning. Sigh.

Muser · 27/09/2010 20:52

Bah to useless docs. How's he doing now Cass?

Casserole · 27/09/2010 21:27

The same Muse . The piriton takes the edge off it but doesn't cure it. It dies down overnight and then gets steadily worse through the day. They thought it might be an allergic reaction - my physiology knowledge tells me that's fairly unlikely, just cos of how long it's been there (3 days now) even with 4 hourly antihistamine. I can see why they think that - it does look allergic - but medically speaking I don't think it makes sense - and even they said that.

After his bath tonight it got markedly worse; he was one giant hive with two little eyes peeping out bless him. Guess the heat worsened it even though it was a tepid bath. Even with no clothes on and shivering it doesn't go down, so it's not a purely body temp thing.

They said if it wasn't better in the morning they might send us to the paeds dept at the hospital. At least then we might encounter someone who knows something!

Thanks for asking Smile

How's your sickness post holiday? Are you still on the cyclizine? I am managing some days without it now; still feel nauseous at some point most days but haven't been sick in nearly a week. Fingers crossed!

rocketleaf · 27/09/2010 21:39

Glad you are feeling less pukey cass was meaning to ask abut that. Hope onepot is better in the morning and you avoid having to take him to hospital. Poor kid (hive with 2 eyes :o :()

Ariesgirl · 27/09/2010 22:01

So sorry to hear about poor little Mini Stew Cass. How is he in himself? Is he itchy?

Muser · 27/09/2010 22:11

Poor ministew, I hope you get some answers tomorrow. Must be awful seeing them ill and not knowing how to fix it.

My sickness is still there. I am still taking the pills 3 times a day. Haven't thrown up since the ill advised boat trip. But I have felt awful on occasion. I did forget to take an afternoon one today and actually felt ok. I was planning on seeing if I can get by on 2 today. It's hard to know if things are lifting or not.

I am 18 weeks now, I'd really like the nausea to bugger off.

SilverSky · 27/09/2010 22:31

cass fingers xd that you get some proper medical attention tmw. It's enough to drive you mad. Poor mini stew. Must be feeling terrible.

Muser · 28/09/2010 08:26

I felt Bob move last night. A lot. Was like a party of champagne bubbles.

CluckyKate · 28/09/2010 08:59

Hooray, hooray, hooray for the bump party Muse. With the sickness under control you can experiment with different food & see what Bob likes best....chocolate usually gets a good reaction Smile

Cass - hope the docs get Ministew fixed today...poor little love Sad

Medee · 28/09/2010 08:59

aw, that's ace!

PerfectDromedary · 28/09/2010 09:09

It feels like champagne bubbles bursting? In which case, I may also have felt Berwhale move. Maybe. I keep wonder if am hallucinating it...

Party of champagne bubbles sounds amaze. Go Bob!

Cass Hope the doctors can help today, poor little stew.

I kept thinking I was imagining things Drom. But no mistaking it last night as it was persistent and strong. Other possible movements have been fleeting and it's hard to tell if it's Bob or gas. Sorry Bob.

OkieCokie · 28/09/2010 09:37

Cass since it is day 3 (or 4) now I reckon it could only be an allergic reaction if he was constantly exposed to the allergen. Usually a dose or 2 (max) of piriton would sort it if it was an allergic reaction. However, hives are a clear sign of a reaction. Are you using anything different? Washing powder? Soap in bath? Different wipes? Has he been eating anything different? Where on his body is it? You say it gets worse during the day. Is he at a nursery where they could be using something different? Personally speaking if it is the same today I would go to the hospital, 3 days on and still no clue then I would need to speak to someone who had more of an idea. It always says on these kind of medicine bottles if symptoms persist then seek medical advice (from someone who has a clue!)

Having said all this I don't intend to worry you. It could be just a "viral infection" which kids seem to get a lot and often present in rashes of some kind.

OkieCokie · 28/09/2010 09:38

Great news Muse and drom on first movements! Just wait until it feels like an alien trying to escape from your tum tum - now that is werid! I like the idea of champagne in my tum tum!

rollerbaby · 28/09/2010 09:43

Awww that's lovely. Such a fantastic feeling... Sugary things definitely send them spinning which is quite funny. I never had that bubbley feeling. First thing I felt was an unceremonious thump on my cervix. Delicate eh.

Off on another shoot today/tomorrow in a not very glamorous location. Cue loads of biscuits and massive catering van lunch with 2 helpings of pud. Last day Thursday and out for leaving lunch. I will weigh 15 stone by Friday. At least I won't need to get up. Feels funny to be on final countdown. Bit worried how I will cope with moping round house. I know, I should shut up now.

OkieCokie · 28/09/2010 09:56

Moping around the house? Moping because you are no longer at work? You werido! There is day time TV to watch, dvds to watch, books and mags to read, shopping, shopping and shopping, meeting me from 11/10 onwards. I am sure you will find lots to do. You could even scrub some floors or clean out kitchen cupboards??!

rollerbaby · 28/09/2010 10:02

I know, I am a freak. Just bad at doing nothing and feel guilty when I have loads of stuff to do like cleaning out cupboards. I am sure I will adapt!!! Har har.

OkieCokie · 28/09/2010 10:05

VAG?????

MrsFC · 28/09/2010 10:13

Ooh - loving the bubbles muse & drom*! Only a few more weeks till bigger kicks - then it's alll about timing to get MrM & MrD to be there feeling at the right time - the FC still hasn't felt anything!

So sorry to hear ministew is still not right cass, I agree with okie, maybe take him to the hospital - just to be sure, esp if the piriton still only relieves temporarily.

honey - I'm only 23 weeks and am 15st already - this is what happens when you are a chunky 5'10" to start with unfortunately. I bet your bump is all neat and you ping right back - esp seeing how glamourous you look on the other place!

I WISH I WAS ON MAT LEAVE. THAT IS ALL.

PollyPoo · 28/09/2010 11:11

Honey you are mad - cherish that time alone for you will not get any more for a long time!

I have 12-ish weeks to go and I am knackered. Running around after a 3 year old all day, then working on my feet 3 evenings a week has finally taken its toll. My back is killing me, I can't walk without getting shooting pains in my hips and down legs. I thought I'd last must longer than this, but in a fit of pain last night I gave notice - I start mat leave on 23rd Oct and I cannot fucking wait! Last night was the final straw. After hobbling around all evening at work I gratefully hauled my ass into the car and drove the half hour trip home, only to find I had the only set of keys and they would not be able to open up this morning. Fucksticks! Cue an hour round trip to take keys back, the latter half with me in tears. Back still sore this morning. Bah.

Sorry to be all moi moi moi, I am v grumpy today.

Muse congrats on the movements, isn't it a wonderful feeling?! Shrimp has got to the stage where it responds to TG's voice which is vey funny and TG loves it. Grin Boo is much less interested in bump, which I hope does not bode badly for the future. Hmm

PollyPoo · 28/09/2010 11:16

must much. Fat fingered twat!

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 28/09/2010 11:26

Still here! No movement at all to report. I have backache.....but only a bit and it doesn't come and go, and I occasionally have stomach ache....though when analysed it is because I have been bending down and squashing my bump. TSF's work colleagues have started a sweepstake. TSF has entered...he wants the £30 prize money. Suspect we will have curry for dinner tonight.....

Yay for movements! Lovely! I remember finally realising it was Clint I could feel, it was just after eating a platter of meringue. Sugar is good!

Cass hope you get mini sorted, poor little thing.

CUNextTuesday · 28/09/2010 11:59

Grin @ fat fingered twat. Such eloquence.

PollyPoo · 28/09/2010 12:02

I learnt from the best you know...

PollyPoo · 28/09/2010 12:03

Ooh Cass, meant to say I hope miniStew is feeling better today? Poor love.
