I have opened the virtual gin, found the Desperate Romantics and am about to start playing I've Never. Who's with me?

roast dinner over trip to docs for the win as long as mini doesn't seem to distressed. :o

Medee · 26/09/2010 11:44

AIBU - I have spent the last week eating proscuitto and salami, drinking machiatti and regularly carrying and eating gelati. Also, I rode a bike. Have I damaged my baby?

Hello, lovely thread, back from hols. I must go catch up, but I see from FB that there is some super news in il Palazzo.

Muser · 26/09/2010 11:45

YABVU Medee, go straight to hell.

Right, I am going to Oxford St. Have remembered I wanted to buy wool to knit SIL2 a baby blanket. Or something of that ilk. First I guess I ought to get dressed.

SkiHorseWonAWean · 26/09/2010 11:55

medee hahaha Grin sounds like a wonderful week! However, according to the paranoid, your baybee will now be born a greenish hue. :( It's all your fault you know. You are a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad mummy.

muser Why bother? Baby brain will get to you eventually. The other morning just as I was about to go out I realised one glaring omission; trousers. Blush

CluckyKate · 26/09/2010 13:02

Happy Sunday everyone.

Ski - can you still get Sobranies??? Wow....save a pink one for me Grin

Mmmmm - roast dinner . We is having roast beef (rare of course) and the works....roll on suppertime.

Medee · 26/09/2010 16:26

I forgot to mention the wine too.. oh god, I am going to hell :)

SilverSky · 26/09/2010 17:43

Is it bad that I have already had my dinner and dessert and its not even 6pm yet! Very hungry today. Now having a Coke. Yup living dangerously.

Weather here today is Les Mis - wet wet wet.

Welcome newbies. The Deli is a delight.

So this morning, me and HI rowed all the way to the hospital for the tour round. Turns out that despite him telling me that he knew where the hospital was. Clearly he fricking didnt.

Was really good to go and visit the place, however in both the Birth Centre and Labour Wards there were wimmin in the midst of giving birth. I kid you not! Unbelievable!

It was screams galore and this one very young girl was waiting to be seen and she was clearly in agony. Some of the others on the tour found the noise very upsetting. Just made me emotional and want to cry!

I also now have a preggo ball. Tho at the mo I am perched on sofa and balancing 'pooter on the ball.

Looking forward to not having to get up for work tomorrow. Lets hope I can sleep in past bloody 630!

Medee · 26/09/2010 19:03

well, at least he now knows where to take you when you are in labour!

OkieCokie · 26/09/2010 19:05

Cass sorry to hear about ministew. They are a constant source of worry aren't they? A visit to the doctor is called for and you are right, it always seems to happen at the weekend. My son has eaten nothing but 3 slices of bacon today which is a first sign he is coming down with something! Typically the other half is away travelling all week so could be up shit creek as the folks have already gone home - oh to have a "support network" nearby!

Silver you and HI seem to row a lot! Has he got the pregnancy hormones too!? Smile. I think you are supposed to sit on the ball and not the 'pooter!

SilverSky · 26/09/2010 20:35

medee he does now!!

Okie Its not as bad as it seems, only twice in one week. Honest guv! Its also only been the last few days. Its my hormones that is causing the ups and downs. I am being very snappy of late and impatient. A lot of it is to do with not being able to get comfortable at home, therefore I can't really relax and chill out unless I am in bed soundo!! Even having a bath is no longer relaxing.

Cos HI is good at letting me kick off steam and not reacting, I then want a reaction or acknowledgement and I end up pushing him. So tis all my own fault really. He is a total gem and I honestly don't always appreciate how good I've got it really.

OkieCokie · 27/09/2010 09:16

That is good Silver - I was beginning to worry but hey weren't guys were put on this earth to deal with the wrath of wimmin! Me and Mr C rarely row but when we do the whole street knows about it!

CUNextTuesday · 27/09/2010 09:35

silver worry not about the screeching birthers - these maybe people who Have Not Done Hypnobirthing

SilverSky · 27/09/2010 09:52

okie same here. We sail along really well for the most part. Unless I am in PMT mode! TBH HI understands me so it's not as bad as it seems.

ruby one can hope!!!

SkiHorseWonAWean · 27/09/2010 10:41

silver Don't worry either way. When your time comes you won't give a flying fuck about "dignity" and you'll utter whatever you will. I think I did low plane-taking-off wails. You may also reach a stage like me where you find yourself stalking up and down the corridors butt-naked but for your "yellow handbag" hissing "I don't give a fuck who sees my minge".

SilverSky · 27/09/2010 11:44

ski I haz visions that during transition I will stand up grab my bags and say "think that's enuff for now. I am leaving. Someone else can give birth. I thank you." then flounce down the corridor heading for the car park with HI hunting me down!!

SkiHorseWonAWean · 27/09/2010 12:54

I told jailbait I'd changed my mind and I threatened to jump out of the window. It was at that point I think the medical staff realised there was something going seriously wrong. Grin

SkiHorseWonAWean · 27/09/2010 13:00

Feck - we missed a good one last week. Have just done "the badness" and searched someone by nickname - lo and behold "do I need a doctor's certificate to go on the eurostar at 30 weeks?". Roffle. Because going on a train will make your baybee explode. Grin

PerfectDromedary · 27/09/2010 13:28

Good lord.

I wonder how she'll cope with a real, honest to god baybee that cries and makes odd noises and is unpredictable. Clearly her head will asplode.

After all the PESH advice, we have booked our pre-Christmas pre-baby holiday. Off to boutiquey hotel in Suffolk with amazing food. Hurrah. Now I just have to get through the next two and a half months in the office...

SkiHorseWonAWean · 27/09/2010 13:35

Mock not drom, given the repeated questions she's asked wrt daycare - you may well be in the same NCT as her... Wink Perhaps you've already shared a cupcake and caffeine-free coffee? (You would've carried the tray). Grin

As for how to get through 2.5 months? 10 days "sick", 30 days on mumsnet, 15 days eating assorted cakes. I think that'll take you through.

ginhag · 27/09/2010 13:48

shit, beshie missed your news over the weekend. doubt you'll be reading this for a while...but am sending peshtastic vibes for a good day today anyway! :)

ginhag · 27/09/2010 13:49

stew what news from the docs?

PerfectDromedary · 27/09/2010 14:01

Crap, ski, you worried me for a moment - but thankfully she's West and I'm East!

Yah, agreed, good plan - but I think I might be expected to do some actual work.

OkieCokie · 27/09/2010 14:17

Link pls Ski for I know not of who you are referring.

I got quite attached to my yellow handbag - quite an accessory methinks.

SkiHorseWonAWean · 27/09/2010 16:23

okie Quite, amazing how much time can be saved from the day-to-day mundane when you don't have to get up and go to the bathroom! Grin I shall PM you the name of Barbie.

drom Can you not demand more "gritty"? Say you want to move in the direction of childbirth?

SilverSky · 27/09/2010 16:37

Second day of ML almost done. Tis hardwork meeting chums for lunch, stable dash, walking K9, putting the washing machine on. Now for a few mins of watching the FEI SJ World Cup Final accompanied by Coke and Chocolate = priceless.
