I have opened the virtual gin, found the Desperate Romantics and am about to start playing I've Never. Who's with me?

Will change to baybees. Am writing it now...

PS Hello Stiffy!

ChoChoSan · 14/10/2010 17:44

Okie I have heard that you should get a 'sports' drinks bottle rather than a jug, so that you can direct soothing water on the fangita, rather than trying to do headstand in order to pour water from a jug.

Hello all by the way, hope you is well. I have spent all week with groin pain as though I have been repeatedly kicked in the minge, and I am getting paranoid that it might be the beginning of SPD Sad I have had such a good diffment that I will be gutted if I turn into an invalid differ moaning and wincing all day long PLUS worried it could potentially scupper my plans for HB..Nooooo!

Muser · 14/10/2010 17:40

Rare steak is allowed! Unless you are in Scotland, in which case it isn't. So don't feel guilty about that.

Or the rest of it. I'm guessing that you haven't got rampaging food poisoning? Sounds like everything was lovely, bar the nausea. I think that calls for doing it all again at some point.

You are just in time for list inclusion. Due date and witty statement are all that's required.

StiffyByng · 14/10/2010 17:35

Hello!

Also, I had a suspected UTI earlier in the week and was given antibiotics in case. The GP though, while otherwise lovely, told me I couldn't have a prescription exemption form until 29 weeks. I had to protest and make her go away and talk to someone else before she reappeared with my application form. Weird feeling, realising you've read so much stuff that you know about things the GP doesn't.

StiffyByng · 14/10/2010 17:33

I can't possibly comment on everything I've read - it's loads and loads. But hello, everyone. Such a sad story, muser.

We had a lovely wedding and honeymoon, bar feeling sick and tired throughout both. Particularly annoying on honeymoon as it was intended as a week of gastronomic tasting menus in France, and wasn't. Poor MrByng.

But I'm heading for 12 weeks, with the scan a week today, and feeling far better. I've managed to put on the half stone I'd lost, just because I'm actually eating something again. Nausea first thing remains, and I'm far more tired than normal, and also can't bear the thought of booze - but I guess that's no bad thing.

On honeymoon I DID eat rare steak, chocolate mousse, (pasteurised) soft cheese and parma ham. Also I've drunk three glasses of champagne in the last two weeks. I'm actually genuinely worried about the Blob and what I might have done to it, but trying extremely hard not to do so - or next thing you know I'll be the cake carrying woman. (Is that real? I mean, seriously?)

Medee · 14/10/2010 17:31

welcome back MrsByng!

StiffyByng · 14/10/2010 17:29

Am I too late?! I'd love to be on the list! I've been away being married and honeymooned.

Muser · 14/10/2010 17:28

I don't have another midwife appointment until 28 weeks, I believe. I am a fool for not asking for it at the last one, as someone even told me before to make sure I did. Which of course I remembered as I walked out of the building.

rollerbaby · 14/10/2010 17:27

Did you also know you can dress your dog up as a bee?

Where has this stuff been hiding all my life?

Medee · 14/10/2010 17:26

My MW said she'd give me it at my 24 week appointment.

Muser · 14/10/2010 17:13

I think: "Unspeakable horrors from our uterine crypts do creep - but some of us are having baybees, too" would quite nicely capture the interesting world of pregnancy CM and reference the rusty bicycles we've had to eject to make room for baybees.

PerfectDromedary · 14/10/2010 17:11

MATB1 - 20 weeks, for shiz. Have just got mine because my last mw appointment was 20wks. Is the shortest form in the whole world. Can you get your GP to do it?

Scorps Given the level of horrormones in the world of the preggos, I might change "boys" to "babyeees" in your thread intro...

OP posts:
Muser · 14/10/2010 17:07

I have done work. Hooray.

I am confused on the form. How can they give you the MATB1 form at 25 weeks or later when I have to give it to my work at 25 weeks? I saw somewhere you normally get it at 20 weeks. It sounds like it is all a bit hit and miss.

rollerbaby · 14/10/2010 17:06

Those pictures are GENIUS!! Please let my baybee arrive on due date - I will have a lifetime of cruelty ahead!

rollerbaby · 14/10/2010 17:05

I would rise to the occasion and change my not list description but it's frigging STILL spot on and I guess will change imminently!

rollerbaby · 14/10/2010 17:04

Fanks for proper pep talk guys. Doula is due tomorrow so no doubt we will go over everything then. I'm being stupid I know and she is lovely and will support me in everything. It must be nerves or summat. Got to write birth plan tonight...

Also good call on jug!!! I only have glass measuring versions so need plastic version asap. Can't imagine wanting to heat my beans in that in the future. More shopping for the morrow. I suppose I should take into hospital? Fuck me I need a bigger suitcase - the trolley dolly version ain't cutting it right now.

I think MATB1 got given to me even later than 25 weeks ackterlly. Might have been 28... wasn't a problem though. It seems that the midwives have certain weeks for giving you different treats.

Cooking 2kgs of bolognese tonight. Just what I feel like. In good news, having necessary waxing and a pedicure tomorrow and hair on Saturday. Shaved my legs earlier which was hilarious and needed help. Bathing my dog would have been less messy and awkward.

CluckyKate · 14/10/2010 16:44

Ha ah - love it Scorps

Muse - I don't think they issue the MATB1 until 25 weeks but could well be wrong.

Scorpette · 14/10/2010 16:21

I like the cut of her jib! Grin

Medee · 14/10/2010 16:18

a mother of twins I know of elsewhere was sorry that her babies weren't at the right age where she could buy an extra large baby-grow and have them as a two headed baby for Hallowe'en!

Scorpette · 14/10/2010 15:51

Ooooohm can I, Muse? I'd LOVE to! Any objections? I'll do a quick n groovy Hallowe'en thang then straight into the stats.

Mind has gone blank for titles. 'Going MAD for Hallowe'en', summat like that?

What about this as an intro: Tales from the dark side, from evil hags obsessed with ghoulies. Hellish talk of FJ and puke will chill you to the marrow. Unspeakable horrors from our uterine crypts do creep - but some of us are having girls, too Wink

I hope that doesn't offend people who have/are having boys - is play on awful notion that boys are more difficult.

Muser · 14/10/2010 15:40

Incidentally, how hard can it be to get a MATB1 form? I have been trying to call midwife but because she doesn't actually work at the GP surgery it's impossible to persuade the receptionists to leave any sort of message for her.

I found the community midwives number instead. Phoned them. "Oh yes dear, try phoning the surgery and seeing if you can pop in for 5 mins between patients to get one."

I said a very firm no, I had tried to speak to the surgery and they were useless. So am now waiting for midwife to call me back direct. I just want my form so I can get maternity pay. And work out exactly when I can quit work and arse around on here all day.

What do you mean how will you tell the difference? Grin Actually, do have a lot of work this afternoon. Shout at me if you see me here again before the evening.

Muser · 14/10/2010 15:31

Scorps, do you want to start the next fred, being as its going to cover the Scorps season?

Scorpette · 14/10/2010 15:19

Oh, my heart goes out to that poor woman Sad I'm afraid I can't read stuff like that because I just get too distraught (hormones + naturally anxious do not a good combination make). Is too, too horrible. I can't cope either hearing about it, Drom (and also realise is the menkul speaking).

LOVE those piccies, Muse. As a Hallowe'en baby myself (well, 2 days earlier), who always had Hallowe'en-themed birfday parties, I bloody LOVE it and am already eyeing up orange and black striped babygros and spider-pattern bootees for next year Grin Disapprove of tacky outfits in general, but Hallowe'en is my one exception.

I haven't vommed since Sunday! WOOHOO! My Mum's (v mild) nausea only last 6 weeks, so am hoping and, well, not praying, that mine follows suit (apols if insensitive hopes to those still vomming their eyes out after the first trimester).

PerfectDromedary · 14/10/2010 14:56

I would totally do the ummm one. I am so evil.

NEW FRED! Please someone who is competent start this one, I made a right pig's ear of the last one.
