I have opened the virtual gin, found the Desperate Romantics and am about to start playing I've Never. Who's with me?

Muser · 25/09/2010 18:54

Please ignore my appalling apostrophe use there. I blame my phone.

PerfectDromedary · 25/09/2010 20:07

I just threw up, having had no morning sickness At All in first trimester. Has anyone else had this happen? Am assuming baby just took agin miso soup, spring roll or duck that ate an hour ago, but am a bit worried...

rollerbaby · 25/09/2010 20:34

perfect please don't worry. I threw up twice due to dried apricots at one point. Turned out I can't tolerate dried fruit as a preggo. I'm sure it's something really simple like that. Do you feel ok?

FC am planning a mat leave trip to Westfield in a week to get the last few bits. I sort of hate malls but I guess from now on it's all about parking/proximity to toilets etc etc etc...

Just had a bit of a mini weep to Mr Moo. I think i just felt a bit overwhelmed by fact "normal" life is about to stop (i.e. work) and maternity leave and new life about to start. Can't believe only 4 more days and then that's it.

Christ almighty is anyone watching X Factor? That woman's eyelashes are quite an achievement.

Backinthebox · 25/09/2010 20:59

Ooh, dried apricots! I love them, but it turns out they make me and baybee fart for England. And because they pack them with a bit of sulphur dioxide to preserve them - they are reaaaaallly eggy farts. So I have been banned from eating them, which is a shame, as I was really enjoying them so much more than laxatives!

FP where near York are you? Can you mention it cryptically? I am up there occasionally, as it is the land of my birth and I have family up there. I often end up very close to old Wicstun, if you know where that might be!

Bessie123 · 25/09/2010 21:15

Dried apricots are foul, as everyone knows. YUCK.

Just popping in to let you know I am having my baybee on monday by c-section, unless by some miracle he agrees to cooperate (finally) and I go into labour before then.

Camel I have been sick in the 3rd trimester with both of mine and didn't have any morning sickness at all with my first. Do you feel ok? How many weeks are you now? I will reply to your email soon, probably next week, when I have things a bit more under control (hopefully).

Ginhag I had some terrible pains with a growth on my ovary in pregnancy, sometimes pregnancy hormones can make them grow faster. Could it be that, if it's not ligament pain?

Scorps I ate my body weight in cake and sugar when I was pregnant with dd and was much, much healthier this time round but I have put on the same amount of weight. I don't think watching what you eat makes that much difference, unless you go outrageously overboard one way or the other, which isn't good for your baybee. When is your scan?

MrsFC · 25/09/2010 21:29

Sorry to hear of the puking Drom. Was it a one off do you think or do you still feel ill?

Honey, four days, that's VERY exciting! What bits do you need? I didn't find Westfield as baby useful as Bluewater, but there is a Mamas and Papas.

X Factor, not as good as last year, but how DOES she keep those eyelashes on?? Liked Cher though.

Gin, how are the pains today?

Bessie, you're going to meet your baby on Mon!! That is beyond exciting! Hope all goes well and smoothly. X

FannyPriceless · 25/09/2010 21:36

Hey bessHie, hope it all goes well!

box I may be thick but am totally confused by your geographical reference.Confused I'll try this newfangled message thingy to tell you.

PerfectDromedary · 25/09/2010 22:00

Fanks for reassurances. Was only the once, although quite spectacular. Chav baby clearly doesn't appreciate nice Japanese food. Still feeling a but unsettled but TNB made toast and tea and was nice so that helped.

Best of luck for Monday, Bess. Bet your baby will be gorgeous!

OP posts:
OkieCokie · 25/09/2010 22:11

Good luck for Monday or possibly between now and then depending on how much pineapple and curry you eat.

Backinthebox · 25/09/2010 22:13

FP google it!

Scorpette · 25/09/2010 22:35

AuntBessie! I hope you get the birth you want

rollerbaby · 25/09/2010 22:56

bessie wishing you lots of luck and happiness for Monday. Hope you get some good sleep and enjoy the last day with mr bessie.

Rocket and Laurie - properly major congrats and nekkid dancing with my now obscenely proportioned G cup bosoms. There really is something going down in the Palais right now. More celery and peanuty snacks all round thanks.

FC I've got most baybee specific stuff now, it's just bits for me for labour and after - like nighties, tracksuit trousers, feeding bras, industrial quantities of painkillers/arnica/raspberry leaf tea and BIG pants. Can't decide just how big to go... I guess we;ll hang on until 36 week appt before ordering birth in a box pool and lining the house in plastic B&Q sheeting. Don't want to jinx anything.

okie hope you are having a good weekend with the parents and working them to their full potential.

Family lunch tomorrow and we are staying at nice hotel with them tomorrow night. No dog and therefore a nice lie in on Monday morning. Bliss. That said, I will miss the little pooch, such a soppy sucker.

Casserole · 25/09/2010 23:10

Oh shitting bollocking hell. Ministew's come out in a rash today; I've spent the day thinking "Hurrah, chicken pox, let's get it out the way" but now I'm home and have googled it, it's blatantly nothing like chicken pox. It is however, most like something called fifths disease, or slapped cheek syndrome. And, oh joy oh joys, that can be dangerous to pregnant women Sad.

Fuckity FUCKsticks. AND we've spent the afternoon / evening with my best friend, who's also pregnant (we've both had chicken pox so were just happy if our boys got it over with) . I know it'll probably all be fine but....Bollocks. Bollocks Sad

Why do these things happen at the weekend? So I guess that's us down to the out of hours GP tomorrow. If it was just him I'd keep dosing him up with Piriton and Calpol and wait for it to pass, but if it IS Fifths then I need blood tests. ARSE.

Sorry to rant and be all mememe.

Casserole · 25/09/2010 23:33

Sorry. Didn't mean to sound alarmist. Am sure t'will all be fine. It's just bloody annoying, really.

SkiHorseWonAWean · 26/09/2010 07:15

cass Step away from the Google and put down that copy of The Daily Mail. If womens' uterii (?) turned to Teflon every time they encountered a sick child the human race would be in a sorry state. I'm hoping Ministew is looking better today - if not, aspirin for the rash/heat and G&T for mummy. Do not phone NHS Direct - they'll only misinform you or whip you in to a state of frenzy by advising that you call a spaceship ambulance and dip your son in boiling water. Hmm If MiniStew is worse this morning phone a real doctor.

honey Yep... leave all that "shit" to the last minute, I was on my way to the medical supplies place when I nipped in for that ill-fated mw appointment. Grin

VAG We are definitely ready for you to lay your baybee now - there's loads of cheese in the Creche and someone's brought in a packet of Sobranie. I don't mean to be rude but if you don't start pushing you're likely to get queue-jumped and that's just plain rude!

rocketleaf · 26/09/2010 07:51

Morning strewpot how is ministew today? I hope you are feeling a bit calmer!! Google is the devil in these situations.

bessiecaughtafishalive loads and loads of luck for tomorrow, I hope it all goes well (of course it will)

hope the puking is a passing thing perfecthumps I am not looking forward to that aspect of being diffed as being sick gives me the proper fear.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 26/09/2010 09:45

Ski I am doing my best to persuade Clint but he is being sticky. Friday eve I had a series of period pain style cramps that were spaced apart but lasted into the night. Kept calm but hoped....but nothing at all yesterday or last night. I want my cheese! Also, how is stretch marks in one's 41st week of pregnancy fair? Bah.

Lovin' the lorry-load of diffment from the Palace - am trying to clear out and make more space, honest! Also hello & welcome roquette! This hanging around has clearly destroyed my manners.

Cass hope it isn't as feared and you get sorted today.

Good luck for tomorrow bess.

Bucks fuss and runny poached eggs all round!

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 26/09/2010 09:46

Fizz! Not fuss (pesky predictive text)

SkiHorseWonAWean · 26/09/2010 09:58

haha VAG - this is of course simply penance for your refusal to acknowledge Clint's existence at the beginning! Grin

rocketleaf · 26/09/2010 10:05

Thanks for the welcome VAG it's getting a bit cosy in here, get a move on :o

Kidding of course, have far over due are you? A week? 2? Can't imagine it, i feel like i am going to pop as it is!

Muser · 26/09/2010 10:09

Good luck tomorrow QueenBess and get a move on CrownPrince/PrincessBess.

VAG I have made pineapple curry for you and nabbed a Captain Jack from the Palace to see if any of that encourages the baby out.]

Cass hope things are better today, what's the latest?

I am meant to be going to Oxford St today to get final things for a wedding next weekend. I so cannot be arsed. Shall I just order multiple things from Debenhams and send back the stuff that is wrong?

FannyPriceless · 26/09/2010 10:15

Ha muse. That's exactly what I did recently. Dangerous though - I ended up keeping two dresses rather than one.Blush

Muser · 26/09/2010 10:18

Not a danger here. I just need a shrug/jacket/thingy to cover my arms. They might not even have the ones I've been looking at online in the Debenhams. So really, it would make sense just to order them online. And then I can spend the day sitting on the sofa eating Galaxy doing the piles of housework.

Casserole · 26/09/2010 10:29

Yes to online shopping. I may never enter an actual shop again...

Minihotpot still looks like an extra from a BBC plague drama Grin It went down a bit overnight but has come up again this morning. We didn't get a brilliant night; he kept waking up crying and scratching. He matches all the symptoms for slapped cheek completely... for him, it's fine; the rash is the last stage and it doesn't have any long lasting or serious effects... unless you're pregnant or immunocompromised. In which case it also probably isn't serious, as most of us have acquired immunity at some point in our lives.

Don't know whether to go to out of hours gp today or just wait and go to our GP tomorrow. I'm inclined to wait until tomorrow as there's nothing they can do for him anyway, and all they'll do is send me for a blood test. And just keep dosing him up with Calpol / Piriton in the meantime. But I always lean towards a laissez faire attitude about these things. If he gets worse I'll give them a ring, see what they say. He has heart "stuff" and we're meant to be more vigilant because of that. But I always forget that bit

Feel most bad about hanging out with my pregnant friend.

Can't do anything till lunchtime anyway as Manstew has gone out and taken the car with the car seat in it Hmm

I am TIRED today. Pain au chocolat and cup of tea, anyone?

Casserole · 26/09/2010 10:31

ps I am feeling up to cooking for the first time in weeks and am planning roast lamb for lunch. Going to docs would really mess that up Smile
