I have opened the virtual gin, found the Desperate Romantics and am about to start playing I've Never. Who's with me?

Hello sorry no news from me. Gave up on waiting n phoned mw just before 5, no reply. Hung up and found message on phone from mw...bollocks. She said she'd try again in the morning.

Have since called the IM that I haven't even registered with yet and left a message. Maybe she'll call this evening.

Is prob nothing major, not worth a & e or anything like that.

Backinthebox · 24/09/2010 17:38

We have just got planning permission for the baby's bedroom. Grin With any luck, it will be finished by his first birthday.

MrsFC · 24/09/2010 17:43

Oh gin, that's a nightmare that you missed each other like that. Hopefully the IM will call you back tonight. Has the pain changed at all? Better? Worse?

rollerbaby · 24/09/2010 18:26

gin are you sure? Maybe pop to the assessment unit in the morning to put your mind at rest? They are normally open all weekend I think.

mrsFC let's just say I use and abuse travel and exps budget at work, ha ha. My boss just spent £5K on a biz class flight so sure I can justify a few Addison Lees here and there.

In terms of nursery, we've got the white ektorp armchair from IKEA. Cheap at £170 compared to a ££££ nursing chair which lasts 5 minutes. And then I can move it into another room and change the covers etc. Bargain. Also got a pine chest of drawers with a removable changer on top - painted that white to go with stokke crib which is most £££ item we've bought. And lamp & shelves from IKEA and cute pegrail and shelf from White Co. Walls are yellowy white. Tomorrow is putting all toys, books, clothes and stuff away. Can't wait. I will take a picture for you!

PerfectDromedary · 24/09/2010 19:14

It's a bad idea to start a hormonally-based row on text messages, right?

OP posts:
Muser · 24/09/2010 19:27

Probably yes Drom. What's the row about?

PerfectDromedary · 24/09/2010 19:34

Trivial but I am upset. TNB has had a fuck-awful week, at work 5.30 3 out of 5 mornings, not coming back til gone 9 most nights. I just texted him because I was having a wobble - felt quite faint and low-blood-sugary - and he entirely ignored me.

Anyway, dragged self off to buy nice food, caught bus home, sent passive-aggressive text. Now miserable. Partially because I feel like I'm out of order, partially because his job seems to be a get-out-of-jail-free card for pulling any domestic weight.

Ignore me, tis 90% hormones.

OP posts:
Muser · 24/09/2010 19:43

Are you feeling better now? I snap over everything at the moment as well. Don't dwell, you are allowed to snap.

PerfectDromedary · 24/09/2010 19:51

I know. Bum on sofa, duck breast in oven, ice cream in freezer...will be fine soon.

OP posts:
Muser · 24/09/2010 19:54

Put something nice on the telly to watch. I have curry being ordered. Saag Aloo and Tarka Dal. I appear to have developed a bit of a pregnancy craving for Tarka Dal. And a tub of Caramel Chew Chew in the freezer. I am going to put trackie bottoms on and find a trashy film to watch.

MrsFC · 24/09/2010 20:13

drom, I'm with you - the FC ignores my texts sometimes, and I can't help but take it personally. But you have the sofa and the remote, and the weekend ahead - don't be blue. (What flavour ice cream is it??)

Muse - can we be fb friends then?

rocketleaf · 24/09/2010 20:25

Hello PESHies, just popping my head in to say hi in the hope that I can take up more permanent residence when I finally manage to disembark this river boat ride I seem to be stuck on. Also I am start to menkul about things it is probably not appropriate to menkul about on the BESH thread so hope you can indulge me when I start asking all sorts of stupid questions. Won't bore you just yet though.

muser I have had a permanent craving for Tarka dahl my whole life, don't really fancy it right now tho. I have this horrible feeling I am going to go off garlic which is going to mean getting an entire new repertoire of recipes to cook.

gin hope you get to see or speak to someone soon, or that the weird pains just feck off.

Bit jealous of the FB action although think it is quite lovely :o

Muser · 24/09/2010 20:27

Yay rocketleaf, is lovely to see you here. Feel free to menkul away, we have all been there.

MrsFC indeed we can be FB friends, find me!

MrsFC · 24/09/2010 20:27

Hey! appollo! Nice to have you here!

You can be my fb friend any time x

MrsFC · 24/09/2010 20:29

Right Muse - I'm a-huntin. Who else are you friends with?

rocketleaf · 24/09/2010 20:36

You"ll regret saying that muse but here goes.

I've been having weird little stabby pains in my lower abdomen first on one side then the other, is this normal?
I feel like shite, low level nausea, knackered and headache, is this normal?
My belly feels like its about to explode and I swear already looks like I am about 5 months diffed, is this normal? (tbf the size of it is pretty normal as i have a bit of a pot at the best of times)*
At what point to I tell my doctor I am diffed. Should I wait a few weeks just in case?

Thanks Mrs if I knew where to start I would hunt you down :o

*I have a good idea this is all perfectly normal but am still menkulling away...

MrsFC · 24/09/2010 20:47

appollo, could you describe the pains as stretchy as well as stabby? I had loads of shifty, stretchy, period-like pains in the first 4-7 weeks. I also felt like I was coming down with a cold too, and it felt like I was walking through sludge ALL THE TIME, I was that tired. The Dr's appointment isn't that exciting, but best to book it up now - then can then get you in the system for your 8 week MW appointment and your 12 week scan.

Does that help? Ooh, I just got excited for you all over again!!

MrsFC · 24/09/2010 20:51

Oh, I have just tried inboxing apollo and muse on the MN email - did it work?

ginhag · 24/09/2010 21:18

Hello. I am in love with the IM. She is coming round in a minute to listen to baby's heartbeat so that I don't go mental. Sounds like I should get checked by gp if pains don't disappear, especially as I realised they are a bit similar to the type of pain I had with kidney stones...so it could be a urinary thing that's gone deep...

Or it could be a weird 'one of those things, who the fuck knows'. Or ligament pain, but is certainly not like I have ever had that before.

Anyway, she is lovely and wonderful and this is comp, tee proof to me that having an IM is worth the money. I am very happy that she will deliver my baby in a few months' time.

I haven't looked at fb yet but I shall investigate the action shortly.

Thanks for being lovely, lovelies x

drom mr gin ignores my texts ALL THE TIME and it makes me very cross...sympathies luvver.

rocketleaf · 24/09/2010 21:23

They don"t feel like period pains much at all, more like sciatica but in the wrong place IYSWIM. Stabby and shooty down into my hips a bit. They don't feel stretchy exactly but my whole belly feels stretched so I might not notice that! They have gone again now, they were worse when I was driving down and got better when I loosened my belt so I think tis just odd cramps. Sure it will be nothing.

Thanks for the advice re the docs. I might try and get an appointment with the lovely gp who did our referral.

rocketleaf · 24/09/2010 21:25

ah thats great gin I hope she can offer you a perfectly unexciting and prosaic explanation. Can I ask what the I in IM stands for? The M is obv midwife?

MrsFC · 24/09/2010 21:31

Independent Midwife I think?

That's great gin, let us know what she says. Brilliant that she can come round late on a Friday night too.

I just said to the FC 'Ooh, one of the PESHes has an IM!' He said grimly 'don't even bother looking.' and went back to his PC game and Grolsch. I'm watching Cherry's getting married and hoping he gets the message...

I reckon your pains sounnd normal rocket, but I know how scary it is at the beginning.

Backinthebox · 24/09/2010 22:06

IM = some of the best money I have ever spent!

Scorpette · 24/09/2010 22:37

Rocket, I'm only just learning to be calm about the horrible crampiness - but everyone on here reassured me they are horrible but completely normal. Have also had a v bloated tum - read in some book that it's due to all the extra hormones.

Well, I managed just under an hour in town then had to come home as I was so fatigued and nauseous. Next week is TYF's 2nd 'summer' week off Hmm, and we have those trips planned wot I mentioned - but I'm worried I'll not be able to cope walking round loads and doing lotsa stuff. Sad

Drom, I hope your food treats were delish and I hope TNB has come home now and made a big fuss of you as you so richly deserve

cheggers · 24/09/2010 22:43
