I have opened the virtual gin, found the Desperate Romantics and am about to start playing I've Never. Who's with me?

Muser · 06/10/2010 11:07

I'm taking 3 Cass. I forgot one on Sunday, but that would not normally make me puke.

I have the diabetes check up tomorrow, I bet I throw up the lucozade. Ha.

What were your blood tests for? I am so glad I am pale and pasty as it means my veins are really easy to see and access. I hope you heal up soon. How pregnant are you now anyway? I am losing track. In my head I am still about 12 weeks. Which as I was greeted by "my god you look pregnant today" from a colleague I suspect may not be true anymore.

Backinthebox · 06/10/2010 11:19

Flying visit - Polly only 5% of babies arrive on their due date. Besides, don't midwives realise that babies are born every day of the year? It's not as if you can plan it down to the last day is it? (I work in a 365 day a year industry, but frankly think that people CAN avoid flying on Christmas day and should all be greeted at the airport by someone dressed as Santa telling them all to fuck off and come back on a more sensible day Grin. Anything medical, though, is a different kettle of fish altogether.)

Casserole · 06/10/2010 11:49

If it doesn't settle Muse I'd consider going back and trying some different ones. I tried metaclopramide which didn't work for me, made me really dizzy and sleepy. A friend was prescribed Stemetil which worked for her; she was about as far along as you are now at the time. Anyway, my point is (I know there's a point in here somewhere) there's other things that they can try; so don't suffer in silence. I know you're all DHB and all that but I've come to the conclusion that just getting through it is the main thing.

Blood tests were following ministew's plague of last week; just in case that was slapped cheek / parvovirus. I'm sure it wasn't but if it was can be tricky for differds. Gin sorry, didn't respond to you earlier. He did have a slight fever the day before. And the initial rash which did looked slapped cheek-esque gave way to more of an allergic reaction - the consensus seems to be that he had an allergic reaction to an unidentified flying virus - so it might have been slappitus cheekus or it might not. Anyway the blood tests will confirm so have given up trying to work it out but wanted to say thank you for taking the time to post that earlier.

ps please tell me "What's that rash?" is (a) available from Amazon and (b) available in board game form Grin Just in time for Christmas, people!

Hello everyone, long time no post, sorry I've not been round much...did I hear that Vaginismus had her Baybeee??? Smile

My baby is not moving around much since yesterday, so I am a bit panicky - I have been feeling it all the time for the past week and a half, and I will not do myself much good if I keep eating sweets and poking myself to try to get her to move...gaaaah!

I finally met my midwife the other day, and she is DA BOMB! She actually gave me a hug when I said I wanted HB, and is super lovely and positive, she is a really warm, smiley, slightly mad Jamaican women...my only issue is that she lives in Essex and I am in E london - I had hoped she would live really locally so she can definitiely get here regardsless of potentially snowy weather, but hey ho!

Drom we are as yet undecided on buggy, but will be getting a car, which I am not too happy about, but nor am I happy at the prospect of trying to force a buggy on the rush hour bus for two hours every day, so car wins.

If this baby does not like a sling, our relationship is not going to work well I'm afraid, I like to be able to get about (especially as living in London) and my entire life after baby is predicated on taking it around in a sling!

ChoChoSan · 06/10/2010 12:21

Cloudy jus is coming out of my nipples when I squeeze them.

CUNextTuesday · 06/10/2010 12:45

Don't squeeze them then Grin

ChoChoSan · 06/10/2010 12:54

But then where will I get my cloudy jus from, Cunty?

laurielou · 06/10/2010 13:00

Afternoon PESHlets.

Gin sorry to be late, but good luck with Teh Talk today. Also give streme a little squeeze too.

Jebus, my brain is mush. Honestly, I caught up on fred like a good girl, & now cannot remember anything that anyone is up to Blush

Oh yes, scorps TYF is a Granny Fucker Grin excellent news.

And cass has been to GP surgery, not had surgery (I did draw a sharp intake of breath when I first read that cass)

And I agree Jo Brand + pie = genius!

muse I'm sorry to hear you're still being sick. I hate being sick & am almost crying at the thought of that coming up. I've had to take my travel sickness bands off for a bit as I think they may be a bit tight & cutting the circulation off to my fingers. All I want to eat is stodge - crisps & bread. The boyf isn't helping telling me to eat it then. At this rate i'll be hooge by week 10! However he also got over excited & bought a book about what to eat & not to eat when diffed. NOTE - Never buy such a book. Apparently we're allowed water & quorn. It even says lettuce in moderation - WTF? I may accidentally put it in the recycling bin.

Anyhoo, I'm off on holidays tomorrow, so better pack. Have a good couple of weeks, here's to more PESH recruits, HB aplenty & nausea calming down.

See you, x

SilverSky · 06/10/2010 13:01

Calling all experts. Back from hossie. Plz to tell me if baby was 3/5 engaged at my 36 wk check and today is 2/5 engaged that means baby bobbed back out right??

CUNextTuesday · 06/10/2010 13:12

Right. It will be in and out. Mine went from fully engaged to not at all engaged in a week, and then 2 days later I popped him out.

CUNextTuesday · 06/10/2010 13:14

O i think i know what you mean. I believe the lower the numer the more engaged. But my doula and my midwife had different opinions of this, helpfully

PollyPoo · 06/10/2010 13:15

Hey Silver, nope it means the opposite! Babybee is further down. Don't ask me why they do it that way, but have a look at this <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=www.sweethaven02.com/ObsNewborn/921les10_img_2.jpg&imgrefurl=community.babycentre.co.uk/post/a5290335/head_35_engaged_-_what_does_it_mean&h=464&w=850&sz=40&tbnid=TH1qu1V2UAkiuM:&tbnh=79&tbnw=145&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbaby%2B3/5%2Bengaged%253F&zoom=1&q=baby+3/5+engaged%3F&usg=__E3Fgm10Y7NEfOUZX5tWTSjZZbgE=&sa=X&ei=xGesTMH_H8K4jAfh0bTMCw&ved=0CDkQ9QEwAw" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">link

PollyPoo · 06/10/2010 13:16

Actually maybe don't have a look at that picture.... thought of a baybees head coming out of my bits is making me feel quite queasy..

SilverSky · 06/10/2010 13:21

polly I should not have looked. I should not have looked.

ginhag · 06/10/2010 14:14

weird, that pic didn't freak me out. am obv going all zen...

well, have been advised against hb as expected. am having one though :)

and stew I have an IM so am sorted there (hope you get pox report v soon lovely...)

Also, it appears we are having another boy (though he was less blatant than his brother)

Am happy

Muser · 06/10/2010 14:19

Aw, boys! I like boys. I like girls too mind. Your two boys will have so much fun together! Congratulations.

And go you on the HB. You do what's best for you.

Muser · 06/10/2010 14:21

That picture is all line drawings, not nearly graphic enough to freak me out.

PerfectDromedary · 06/10/2010 14:23

BABYBOY FOR GIN Wooo! Also well done on DHB sticking to HB plans. You're fab.

Cunty I do work in Richmond. Let's go for lunch and clog up the pavements. I want to coo over the baba.

OP posts:
Headbanger · 06/10/2010 14:42

OH Gin, congratumalations on the second son! And on the HBness. You = quite marvellous, and that's a fact.

SilverSky · 06/10/2010 14:54

Awesome news gin! Roquefort to celebrate?

The pic is not gruesome - more freaking me out as it means my stop on the De Nile cruise is not far off.

My MW service has been shocking. Truly. Called to make appt for next week as advised by hospital to be told that there aren't any MW appts for next week. So I asked what am I sposed to do cos I will be 39+ wks and these checks are v important and what if something is missed then we are potentially in a lot of trouble! The answer is to see the gp. Not ideal but got no choice. Eejits.

Also I am sure I am making it up but you know when you Are asked "any swollen hands/feet?" well it's always been a no. But today I am thinking perhaps my fingers do seem thicker than usual hut not swollen. However it has turned bloody warm here and I have just walked the dawg so prob just that.

PollyPoo · 06/10/2010 15:44

Congratulations on the boychild Gin! How will Mooch take it? Did he not want a sister? Or have I got it round the round wrong way? Boo is insisting that this baybee is a girl, she will have it no other way. Well done for sticking to your guns. Grin

Just back from mw appt - this time she was fine about HB. Swear she is bipolar or summat. Hmm All is fine, baybees heartbeat was 155bpm, so MW reckons it is another girl. (Boo will be pleased). She doesn't want to see me again until 34 wks, and then 36wks for a home visit to drop off 'birth box'. Eek.

Muser · 06/10/2010 15:47

Sky when in doubt, have it checked out. I know we are all DHBs here and carry cake without concern. But occasionally we can say "is this normal" to a health professional and not be laughed out of the Deli. Do it! Also, your midwifes sound rubbish.

I has just been promoted. Rock on. Sadly it does not come with payrise, due to stupid system. But think I get some sort of weird payment thing that I don't understand.

Muser · 06/10/2010 15:55

Oh gosh. Just seen first picture of TinyNephew. May cry some more. Babies in incubators = blubfest.

PerfectDromedary · 06/10/2010 16:08

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Well done on promotion, CleverMuse. Also, bless to TinyNephew and his cuteness.
