I have opened the virtual gin, found the Desperate Romantics and am about to start playing I've Never. Who's with me?

Weird payment is car allowance or something equally pointless. Believe it is a way to give us some cash without making them pay us more pension. As I only get 6 weeks on full pay and that's 90% average pay for last year and 10% current pay is not very exciting. Still, cash will be helpful while it's there.

CUNextTuesday · 06/10/2010 17:43

drom plz to suggest date, time and place

Scorpette · 06/10/2010 19:05

Ooooh, good newses all round, I love it!

HUZZAH for GinBoy2! Gin has the coolest boys' names, so is only right she gets another lovely laddy

HUZZAH! For BigBossMuse and her promotion! Did you have a celebratory vom? (Poor sweetie)

HUZZAH! For *Pol's MW being in nice mode and groovy heartrate-sex thingy and making the second coming a girl this time round Grin What's the deal with the heart rate indicating the sex, anyway? Wanna know more!

But not huzzah for Lozza and the puke worry. Is crap. Don't fret too much about the sickness bands - they are designed for child anorexica. I have tiny wrists (to the point where people remark on the fact) and they still hurt mine. The agony goes off after about 5 days

I dunno what scary drawings you're all on about and I don't think I want to, either. Hmm

CUNextTuesday · 06/10/2010 19:30

oo oo gin!! Well done on your little haglet and HB shiz! Joy to the Monde!

CurlyCasper · 06/10/2010 20:14

OMG so much going on in here. Fab, fab news on the girl and boy for pol and gin. So glad you are going to get your HB ginny.

Congrats on the promotion muse! Just been looking at some of your pics and see you have been very much in my neck of the woods. People from there would have gone to the same school as me. Hope it was a lovely weekend, despite the scary nephew news.

swits Hope you are getting some rest. I'm sorry you've been having The Scares. It's never fun having to go in for monitoring. But you are nearly there now.

So, who's going to pop next then? Any queue jumpers? I'll repeat again, that I had no notice of my child being engaged. But I had BHs for weeks before it all happened and it looks like the BHs that got a wee bit stronger might well have been early labour. and I had some of those contractions that you don't feel but show up on monitoring.

Grin at cho's cloudy jus. Brings back fond memories... (before I started finding my laptop/dog/remote control/living room curtains covered in stray breast milk. Turns out breasts can really skoosh that stuff out.)

silver, honey Hope you are keeping busy yourself relaxed and amused.

gentle hugs to the sickly early differs.

sorry if I have missed anyone/thing. it's hard to keep up with sore thumbs and a heavy headed limpet stuck to one arm. Wink

rocketleaf · 06/10/2010 20:35

Eeep! I don't know how I am going to keep up with TWO threads with you lot of natterers. I've already delayed dinner by forgetting to put the chicken in at the right time. Will have to have it with cold wedges now.

Congrates to gin and pol on the boy and girl respectively and also the good HB news. And to managementmuse on the promo, car allowance sounds like they might be also trying to give you a tax break as well as saving on pension contributions?

hope you get the all clear cass i always end up looking like a junky after blood tests despite being pale and interesting apparently I have deep veins. When do you find out?

Feeling almost human today, I imagine its just lulling me into a false sense of security although I think the very ealry night might have helped. I can seem bed time approaching 9 pm eventually.

Backinthebox · 06/10/2010 21:33

And further to Cas's post above, I had no BHs, no feeling of 'dropping,' no nothing, actually. Given everyone in our family is generally 2 weeks late and I was 9 days late with DD, this baby's sudden arrival was rather a surprise - a nice surprise though Smile

CluckyKate · 06/10/2010 21:49

Another boy - hip hooray....well done Ginny Grin

Did you just slip you're having girl Cho, only don't recall reading that before but could well have missed it??? You are so lucky - girls are lovely.

Not much to report here, just thought I outght to get a word in before this fred is finished - you're getting through it fast girlies.

Bye for now....

Muser · 06/10/2010 22:18

Polly I have just been googling about finding out baby's sex, because I can't decide whether to or not. Apparently they have done many studies and the being able to tell the baby's sex from its heartrate thing is a myth. Except possibly in labour, by which point you're going to find out soon anyway. Tis most interesting as I had heard it was possible, but clearly a mistaken assumption.

I think we are still not finding out. While I am all a dither MrM is not, so I may just go with him. I always said I wouldn't find out, but now it's actually come down to it I kind of want to know. But I also don't. And I can't come up with good reasons either way.

PollyPoo · 06/10/2010 23:31

It is ok, I know it is a myth. Was surprised that MW seemed to be so certain. I like all the guessing that is going on in our house. Grin

Muser · 07/10/2010 09:17

It regularly amazes me what people who should know better still believe!

I dutifully trekked off to the hospital this morning for my diabetes check. I was greeted by a midwife who looked at my notes, asked me a few bemused questions, and then sent me away. There is apparently no need for me to be tested at 20 weeks, but I do get to go back at 28 weeks.

While I'm glad not to spend 3 hours in hospital, I was rather looking forward to finally starting TinyNephew's blanket. Now I have to go to work instead. Boo.

maswera · 07/10/2010 09:57

I am eating Allbran laced with linseed for breakfast - how can I still be constipated? :{

Hurrah for GinBoy!

rollerbaby · 07/10/2010 10:22

Wooooooooo LOTS to catch up on!!!

okie enjoy last day at work and make sure to flick them the big Vs as you sashay out at 4.30.

Muser big woohoo on the promotion you clever thing. Never mind about the £££. It'll look good on your CV and you can always leave and then get an even bigger payrise. :)

Gin and Polly lovely lovely news on baybee boy and girl for the deli! So exciting to know and now you can get properly going in name and shopping activities.

Gin very interested in specifically how your HB chat went - were they supportive after you said what you wanted? Despite their concerns?

Which segues nicely to my slightly annoying 36 week appointment yesterday. I was expecting a nice pat on the head and an appointment for the birth box drop off.... Instead, the MW (who I liked and respected enormously ironically) has to refer me to a consultant next weds for a "chat" as I am measuring at 41 weeks now. FUCCCCCK! I mean, this isn't exactly a surprise and since I've been over for ages, surely this is proportional growth. And as the MW pointed out the scans are so inexact that they can't tell anyway. So not really sure what the point is in me going to see this guy? Basically to be told the possible shoulder dystocia/difficulty risks and warned off a HB... She admitted that size doesn't correlate to the shoulder problems, so I'm a bit Confused why after building up my confidence to do the bloody HB, I'm now being undermined at this point. Based on nothing! She didn't want to scan me beforehand, apparently he will decide what's to be done. Feeling frustrated and irritated by it all to be honest. Of course I'm not going to rail against advice if it really IS in the medical interest of my baby, but as far as I can see this is them covering their insured arses. I'm not changing my mind unless he has something concrete to say.

The other good news is that baybee moo is in the right position, head down on left and is 2/5 engaged!!!

Got home after that and cooked dinner for the 12 strong NCT group who then arrived for BF course. Dog was a terrorist - drank out of everyone's glasses on the living room floor, and then got hold of the course leader's knitted boob to my utter shame and embarrassment. I mean not that surprising since soft balls are his favourite thing but still. Thank god no damage. The evening was very nice and good fun but was totally knackered and wiped out by the time everyone left. The upside is that I have leftovers of all the goodies people brought - milk tray, lemon tart, chocolate tart, patisserie valerie cake, tortillas and dips and leftover lasagne. NOM NOM NOM. Tomorrow baby will be measuring at 43 weeks!!! okie I will save you some so hurry.

rollerbaby · 07/10/2010 10:25

Mas don't eat Fybogel - apparently just blocks you up worse! Figs, porridge, water are your friends. :)

curly living room curtains????? Jaysus. btw, my BH were quite low in my bump last night. Is scaring the shite out of me.

Backinthebox · 07/10/2010 10:31

Sniggering at the thought of Moo's dog with a knitted boob.

Muser · 07/10/2010 10:42

I just spluttered porridge at the thought of dog with knitted boob. Hilarious.

PerfectDromedary · 07/10/2010 11:17

I just heard the baby's heartbeat Sorry, am
a bit overexcited - I don't have a Doppler at home so it's the first time I've heard the baby. Was a very nice moment.

Boobie-eating dog = hilair.

Muser · 07/10/2010 11:40

Oh look, I appear to have something in my eye.

Isn't it wonderful Drom? I bet you are grinning from ear to ear!

PerfectDromedary · 07/10/2010 11:42

Yup! And I got a bit choked up when I called TNB to tell him.

OP posts:
Medee · 07/10/2010 12:03

hurrah! I loved hearing mine last week for the first time too.

So nuchal blood tests. No news = good news, but still want to check surgery hasn't just lost my results. Not sure I want to call just yet.

PollyPoo · 07/10/2010 12:04

Just to re-iterate all, we do not know the baybee is a girl. MW was merely guessing by heartbeats per min which as we all know is a load of tosh!

Ah Drom Grin It is always so exciting and reassuring to hear the heartbeat, I love it!

Loving Moo's booby eating dog but v Angry at your mw. I can't see what the point of the appt is if they can't actually tell one way or t'other how big baybee is. Hmm I think like you say, they are trying to cover all bases. Bastards.

SilverSky · 07/10/2010 12:41
Medee · 07/10/2010 13:01

I called, they don't have them. Bah, that was a bit of an anticlimax.

Scorpette · 07/10/2010 13:45

Ooooh, more lovelinesses! Drom, is so fabulous you've heard young Berwhale's ticker for the first time. It must have been such a magical moment... why are my eyes leaking, suddenly?

And Moo, is all starting to sound verr exciting at your end. Erm, possible bad choice of words? Wink Keep us updated!

Medee, is a bit crap making you wait ages for important results Angry

As for me, well guess what - I feel sick as a fucking dog. Still, have read that my baybee's eyes are getting a bit of colour and it has a mouth with a tongue now, so I am imagining it winking and blowing me cheeky raspberries and I can forgive it anything*

*Don't worry, am not one of those stoopid caaaahs who attribute blame or mature thinking to foetuses and babies, ie Baby hates Mummy cos s/he is making me sick, Baby is only crying to get attention. Grrrr, I hate those twats!

MrsFC · 07/10/2010 14:00

Hmm - this is what you get for not keeping upto date - it's taken me ages to catch up!

Great news about the promotion muse, it gives out a good message too - that they promote pregnant women. I've just started recruiting for my job. Bit tricky selling it to agencies when I CANNOT WAIT yo leave this snake pit. I had a really grim meeting yesterday and was getting really anxious, but it was making me laugh thinking of miniFC getting all that adreneline - like free drugs - party in my womb!! And actually the meeting went well - so now I'm couning the days. I'm just so shattered, and I only do three days a week. I am full of admiration for all of you working full time.

And a boy child gin! That's brilliant! Congratulations! have you still got lots of minigin's things? To pass on and love all over again?

Laughing about the NCT/dog/knitted breast. But why was the breast knitted exactly? Am I missing something??

I know the pram debate was a few pages back, but for what it's worth I'm pretty sold on the bugaboo. I love how it's a travel system, but still so light and manoeuvrable. Great for getting on and off the tube. When I had the boy child I spent many a happy hour pushing him round John Lewis in Oxford Street - they have a lovely mother and baby feeding room - with free nappies I seem to remember...!

Soory that so many of you are still feeling so sick. keep eating the white carbs if they are helping and try not to fret about the weight gain. I was horrified to see I gained a stone in the first trimester, but it's slowed right down now.

Anyway - must go - I have a threesome booked with Johnny Depp & hb this afternoon...
