I have opened the virtual gin, found the Desperate Romantics and am about to start playing I've Never. Who's with me?

Go VAG! Well done and congrats to you and Mr VAG x

organiccarrotcake · 02/10/2010 19:32

For those considering homebirth I highly recommend www.homebirth.org.uk and Sheila Kitzinger's "The new pregnancy and childbirth" which gives you lots of confidence in your body. She has also written loads about homebirth - all of her books are truly excellent.

Interesting article on induction. For those who don't know, I took advice, queried it, and declined induction following PROM at 36 weeks and he was born safely underwater with no drugs at 37 weeks following spontaneous labour which would have been impossible with induction.

Having planned 2 homebirths I'm happy to offer any info but post in FESH as I don't keep up here!

FannyPriceless · 02/10/2010 19:33

Congrats vaggie!!Grin Et voila, another boy!Smile

ginhag · 02/10/2010 20:19

Oh lovelyvag (that really does sound wrong :) ) I am sooooooooo pleased for you, glad all is well with you n Clint.

Loads of love from the family gin xxxxxxxxxxxxx

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 02/10/2010 20:44

Hello Lovely Peshes and an extra big squeeze to Vag - congratulations on the arrival of your lovely boy! Looking forward to hearing how it went. Good luck choosing a name - I'm sure you'll find something fabulous. "Sonnet" is the latest from the baby name threads... Just putting it out there!Wink

Sorry for the long radio silence - though I have been intrigued at the myths that have sprung up in my absence - Nope, not a ballet dancer - I'd be the portliest swan in the corps de ballet - and I am still not planning on giving birth in our little apt...as fun as that would be both for us and the neighbours. Considering the dear lady across the way threatened to call the police on my 30th birthday, dunno how that would go down. Think she's really going to like having a newborn as a neighbour.Grin

Actually, I have been quiet mainly due to the fact that I have had to go cold turkey on MNing at work - for the simple reason that I get nothing done: and I have LOADS to do before going on ML. I have just been too knacked to post in the evenings. But! I have been lurking and very excited for the new Deli additions...Congrats laurie and rocket.

And how are my EDD sistahs in Oct and Nov feeling? I'm jealous of those on ML I have to say. Will be working 'til end October if all goes to plan. And it looks like it may: in a surprising twist to the whole cervical shortening saga, when I went back to the doctor, he discovered that it had stayed stable at 3cm and the internal opening had disappeared. Magic! So no reason now why I wouldn't go to term apparently.

Nice to be back in the Deli! I missed ya.

rollerbaby · 02/10/2010 21:09

Good to hear from you twitster. And brilliant that everything is back together cervically speaking. :) I'm thinking of leapfrogging silver and getting in there, given the size of my bump. Was definitely the fattest and most preggo one in my group today... they are all a couple of weeks behind me and much svelter. Beatches.

MN at work is practically compulsory - just minimise the screen when your boss walks past!

Casserole · 02/10/2010 21:19

Hurrah for Vag and Clint! Wonderful news Grin

Backinthebox · 02/10/2010 23:17

Fabuloso, VAG! Well done - see you over in the Spa!

AlpinePony · 03/10/2010 06:08

giggle @ "sonnet". Anyway, she's Welsh and giving that forum a cursory glance the most Welsh-looking name is "Wwyd"! Wink

switty I'm very pleased to hear you're OK - yesterday I was trying to figure out a mercy dash to go with a bag of preemie clothes. This is wonderful, excellent news. As for the old lady - our building is mostly old and they all melt for Bear. No complaints from anyone at all. There's something about the baby melts the coldest of hearts.

Ooooh 4 of you good to go in the next 6 weeks - I do like a baybee cluster!

rocketleaf · 03/10/2010 07:15

Morning hags, can't sleep...

Thanks for the welcome switty having just googled cervical shortening I am very glad to hear yours has magically fixed/lengthened/closed itself. My work have MN on the blocked list, I am ashamed to admit that this is one of the biggest deciding factors in my recent purchase of an iphone.

carrottop ta for the links and book recommends, does being diffed mean I am going to have to step away from the sci fi and start reading proper books?

Had a bit of an "eeep' moment yesterday, was having a lovely soppy cuddle with TB and had a sudden fear that a baybee will change/replace him as centre point of my heart. Bit bloody late to think that now eh?

CurlyCasper · 03/10/2010 08:28

Hurraaay for vagdelivery!! Congrats to you all. Can't wait to hear all about him xxx

Welcome back swits! Right, I feel really bad now. Who is the dancer? Is she maybe in the Palace?

SilverSky · 03/10/2010 10:54

. Congratulations to youz allllll!

swittsalot welcome back! Glad that Paul Daniels has been in Sorted out your ishoo.

pocketrocket I also got a whizzbang phone cos Internet usage is massively monitored at work and plus I didn't want them knowing all my beeswax hence I posted mainly in the eves or w'ends.

Had quite late night last night and woke up at 955 which is my biggest sleeping achievement so far!! . Grotty day here and sharer is seeing to the horse so may not do very much except lurk here or may stretch to waddling the mutt up and down the road. Or if I have a real energy surge I may do some chores but I recommend not holding your breath on that one.

rocketleaf · 03/10/2010 11:56

TB has done his back in (again) and its shitty weather here, so I predict a day of carp films, Merlin, Downwhatsit Abbey and X factor :o

rocketleaf · 03/10/2010 11:57

NB: I will not be watching films about angling, but they will be CRAP.

Medee · 03/10/2010 12:18

I finished Jools Oliver's book yesterday, quite an entertaining romp through pregnancy and the first year.

Backinthebox · 03/10/2010 12:26

My (entirely male expect for token lesbian) office when I was pregnant had no idea about MN and therefore had not banned it. Although I was only in the office 3 times a month so it would hardly have been a crisis if they did. They DID ban FB though, and that was annoying.

Swit most pleased to hear your cervix is bahaving.

Medee · 03/10/2010 12:28

and thank you again, CC for the books, MrM is getting right into the Baby Owner's Manual.

Muser · 03/10/2010 16:22

Yay VAG. Finally leaving de Nile.

laurielou · 03/10/2010 18:04

VAG Fantabulous news! Congratulations, xxx

SilverSky · 03/10/2010 18:19

I bloody hate men. GAH!!!!!

OkieCokie · 03/10/2010 20:10

VAG wonderful news! Another boy! Boys are ace! They wee on you and everything! (that'll drag you out of De Nile if you are still in it!) I am so pleased. Looking forward to hearing name!

Isn?t Meds the dancer [confused}

My work don?t ban anything on t'internet but that "advise" that they would prefer you not to use yahoo etc - as if anyone listens!

Have had a lovely day at moo's not a baby shower and it was really nice.

Welcome back wits! Glad you cervix is better.

I am truly nesting. I have cleared 12 bags (count 'em) of clothes and books and just general "stuff" for charity and stuff for the tip and I would say I am 3/4 the way through project clear out.

Medee · 03/10/2010 21:00

I'm a tap dancer.

We went to John Lewis today, looking at prams. I do Heart JL, the assistant was very helpful and I feel less overwhelmed now (although still a bit whelmed by the prices!)

Scorpette · 04/10/2010 01:45

I have just done my first proper vom - evil pg vits horse tablet did for me. Medee, I took TYF round JL this last week, looking at prams and everything. As well as being surprisingly interested and excited, he leant towards me and murmured, 'we're getting everything from here'. Grin Including a cuddly toy train if we're having a girl (but not if it's a boy), apparently, as he has become incensed by the absurdly prescriptive genderisation of kids' stuff. I couldn't love any other type of man (it's not just Feminism, it's also being a contrary bugger)!

Ooooh, I feel a lot better for a good spew. Only trouble is, it's also made me weirdly energised and it's sooooo late. GAH!

AlpinePony · 04/10/2010 04:59

medee Does she actually own up to having an army of helpers/nannies/PAs/trainers or is she genuinely "hands on"? I always got the impression she got on with it herself (to a more or lesser degree) - but of course maybe that's what they want you to think! Wink

okie In NL it's against your human rights as an employee or some other such piffle (to ban interweb). I think you actually need to be caught cock in hand with spunk on your monitor and someone rutting an alsatian on your screen to get a warning. Grin We did have some gambling sites banned for a while... probably something to do with the mad russians who are in charge of something v important spending all night logged on to 888.com...

CUNextTuesday · 04/10/2010 08:19

scorps preg vits were the culprit in my one and only vom too. If you can, just take the folic acid part - you should get all your other vits from normal diet as the only 'extra' you need is the FA. I never threw up again after I stopped taking the preg vits...
