I have opened the virtual gin, found the Desperate Romantics and am about to start playing I've Never. Who's with me?

curly Are you anywhere near Worcester? An old uni friend of mine runs a knitting club there.

My contractions hurt - I felt like my uterus was going to explode. Maybe because my cervix chose not to dilate? Confused Everything was contracting and moving but not going anywhere. Still, the prize is worth it.

medee That's fucking insane nonsense. The irony being of course that many people who don't work are also NQNCTC! Wink

Medee · 01/10/2010 16:04

interestingly, one of the lunch clubs is run in a pretty rough area, but yes everything else is West End or countryside.

rocketleaf · 01/10/2010 17:14

Curly I can not recommend crochet enough. Its ace, so much more forgiving than knitting, very versatile. I have only been doing it a year and i have made baby stuff, hats, toys, ipod socks and just starting a big blanket project. Just google "how to crochet....*" there is an american lady who has done videos of pretty much everything you would want to crochet, you can learnt the basics, then get on ravelry.com I have a "crafty witch" photo album on the other place full if stuff that I got free pattern from there.

If you need any help, happy to oblige. also there is a crochet thread in crafts on MN which i am on at the mo.

Need vag news. Anyone heard owt?

AlpinePony · 01/10/2010 17:32

I texted her before she got the gel/drip - but she's only been "live" 90 minutes - although she could've laid I suppose.

I'm really excited - another BESH hard win! Grin

As it's too late for her to back out - does anyone else remember her getting her BFP, refusing to believe it and dragging her hubby out that night on the gin because IT WAS NOT TRUE? Grin

rocketleaf · 01/10/2010 17:43

Haha before my time but classic none the less :o Worcester you say? I have loads of friends who live there and are fairly crafty. I bet some of them know her or know someone who does.

moo exqueeze me, perennial massage? Is that some sort of massage that repeats itself yearly? Or are you going to go round stroking your fuscias until you are so calm and zen you will sneeze the baybee out? (please don't disabuse me of this image as the alternative is frightening me)

CUNextTuesday · 01/10/2010 18:04

'stroking your fuschias' huh huh huhuhuh

Scorpette · 01/10/2010 18:20

Feel vile. Just popping in for VAG news. Her boat will finally leave De Nile today, that's fo sho! Grin Good luck VAG!

rocketleaf · 01/10/2010 19:20

Sorry you are feeling so crap scorps Still no pukiness this end but I feel knackered and haven't even done anything today apart from a bit of shopping and some lunch with a friend. Pathetic.

laurielou · 02/10/2010 09:00

I suppose I'll forgive vag for being otherwise engaged (no pun intended Smile). But My God I need to know....

scorps so sorry you're feeling rough m'dear. Wish there was something I could say / recommend, but I'm pretty clueless at the diff mallarkey. I can conclude that a small glass of bubbly + HOOGE cupcake with strawberry icing = in bed by 9pm feeling a bit sick.

The weather is just GORGEOUS here today, I love autumnal days like this. So if there are any golfers out there I can confirm the Ryder Cup will be going ahead today (Michael Fish emoticon).

rocketleaf · 02/10/2010 09:40

lovely day here too lozzer hmm was hoping for rain so i would have an excuse to stay in and play with my balls (of wool)

FannyPriceless · 02/10/2010 16:36

Checking in for vag news. Can't wait to hear.

rocket Do you think it would be possible for me to crochet a groovy little cover for my camera?

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 02/10/2010 17:50

Hi ladies! Am Out The Other Side!

It's a boy! 8lb14 whopper arriving at around 8 this morning, after being called in early by the hospital. Induction & epidural but fine. Will post story on spa in due course. No name as yet, both too tired to think straight.

RunLyraRun · 02/10/2010 17:53

Also checking in for VAG news, and in the meantime finding this thread ver ver interesting. I had a lightbulb moment when someone said that a birth experience can be anywhere on a scale of 1-10: if it's a 9 or 10 (ie very difficult situation), there will be bugger all you can do to influence it, you're going to have to have some serious intervention. But if it's a 6, you might be able to calm things down to a 4 or 5 with relaxation, visualisation, hippo-type stuff - which could make the difference between an intervention being required or not.

Cunty are you going to train as a hippo teacher? You could carve out your own niche as the first ever non-hippy hippo practitioner :o

RunLyraRun · 02/10/2010 17:56

Oh my god what a time to cross post! Many, many congratulations VAG and Mr VAG and baby...what will he be called? MINIPENIS, perhaps? Well fucking done matey! Finally disembarked from your home on De Nile :)

AlpinePony · 02/10/2010 18:00

Woooh! Huge congratulations VAG! Grin Another Deli boy!Curious! You mean you're not going with Clint? Shock

Ariesgirl · 02/10/2010 18:02

Congratulations VAG! Well done! 8lb14 Now he's really here and I suspect making his presence felt.

Medee · 02/10/2010 18:05

woohoo, congrats on the birth of Clint!

rocketleaf · 02/10/2010 18:06

Fan I think so. It possible to crochet pretty much anything if you can find a pattern:

WELL DONE VAG and YoungMasterGimlet! Am so, sooooo happy for you (and relieved it's over)! Massive kisses and can't wait to hear more about him, you and ev'ryfink XXXXXXXX

rollerbaby · 02/10/2010 18:38

VAG that is wonderful wonderful news. Well done mummio. Can't wait to see pictures and hear news... CONGRATS and I hope you get a bit of rest tonight. xxxxxx

Back from 1st NCT. All v nice and normale. Class a bit boring tbh. I'd probably have learnt more from you lot. She really confused me for example about what to do in bathing the baby... BUT a worthwhile experience and nice to have more local mummy friends other than okie my fellow drinking coffee morning bud.

rocket we stroked the old fuschias last night. Ow Ow ow ow. Not sure it's meant to hurt.

organiccarrotcake · 02/10/2010 19:17
