Good luck November. Hope it's as quick and painless as possible Smile

crazybutterflylady · 08/09/2010 09:51

Morning all!

mumnerves thanks for the bubble bath info. I had one on Monday and found that I couldn;t relax because I was worried about it being too hot and also thanks to my newfound heightened sense of smell got a headache from the stuff I'd used

mrswajs glad to hear the seabands are helping! Long may it last...

Hi fellow worriers early PGers kurly and cherry Grin

Can I ask a quick question please (another one!)... I am busting out of my bras already but am nervous about buying another bra because i could grow out of that one quickly and end up buying one a week!! I wondered when you started buying them and how big you went to...?

I have eaten nothing but carbs carbs carbs this week and my trousers are feeling really uncomfortable. I just wish I could FFwd to maternity clothes time!

xx

SaorAlba · 08/09/2010 10:03

Hey there, crazy. I have one new bra which I bought at 6 weeks. I was a 32GG before pregnancy and the new bra is a 34GG. I still have one normal bra that I fit into and my sports bra just fits also.

The most important thing for me was to get a bra that wasn't underwired as my boobs are pretty sore. They've calmed down a bit now in terms of pain though. I'm going to buy another this week or next I think.

Oh, also instead of buying a bra that fastens on the loosest notch to allow for the bra to stretch, in pregnancy you should buy one that fastens on the tightest notch because you will get bigger before the bra ever stretches.

crazybutterflylady · 08/09/2010 10:23

ah thanks Saor that's really helpful.
I am a 34DD but they are really painful and I am wearing sports bras to bed! So I am thinking of going for a non-wired in a 36E just to give me a bit of room. Do you think that might be ok for a few months??
x

Hermya321 · 08/09/2010 11:03

Good Luck November!!!

Crazy Maybe something like this might be helpful for you. I'm the same size as you as I've just worn a Nursing top to bed. It's helped with the support issue and I don't feel like I'm wearing a bra to bed. They'll do you for pregnancy and beyond.

As for me, I'm 33 weeks now and getting bigger by the day. I'm off to eat a lot of cake today and do some shopping. I also got given some baby boys clothes from a friend, I now have an abundance of the things. I'll probably end up giving some of them away if I can find a willing party.

OP posts:
crazybutterflylady · 08/09/2010 11:10

Hermya they look perfect thanks. I just don't want to spend a lot on a bra that I am going to grow out of in a month.

I have worn a sort of crop top type thing today for work and they aren't as painful but there is zero support going on so slightly impractical!

33 weeks!! That's so exciting!! You are due on my wedding anniversary :) do you have any names picked out yet or are you waiting until you see the cute little face?

x

MrsWajs · 08/09/2010 16:06

crazy I haven't bought any new bras yet but will definitely need some soon!! I'm only a B cup tho so maybe not feeling quite as uncomfortable as you. Was hoping to wait til after the 12 week mark (so as not to tempt fate) but think I may need to go shopping before then at this rate!!

DP is loving the size increase he's just pretty naffed off that he can't actually touch them!! Poor guy! Bit of a Blush question but did/has anyone else gone completely off sex in the first few months of pregnancy. I think a combination of feeling sick, being emotional and knackered all the time has just put me right off it but I feel bad for DP because I know he has a really high sex drive, he's had the patience of a saint so far but I don't know how much longer he "won't mind" Confused

Anyway apart from that the seabands are working a treat, although it's making keeping things quiet at work a bit difficult but I'm past caring! As long as I don't feel like I'm going to hurl every 5 seconds then I'm happy!

cherrycobbler · 08/09/2010 16:56

Poor mrW ! I can't really add much experience MrsW but can't imagine being in the mood for passion ever again for a little while, as am just exhausted and feel faintly sick of an evening, already.

Boobs are a bit sore but not too bad, but I have the sniffles ALL the time. Like the day before a cold but the cold doesn't quite come through.

Did my first digital test to check I wasn't dreaming and it came up 2-3 weeks Grin. Only 4 + 2 today so still terrified!

Going to tell parents this week/ this weekend I think. Will give strict instructions not to tell anyone else but not entirely sure they'll stick to it.

Hermya cake and shopping - what a perfect day! Hope you enjoy it.

Waves to crazy - very Envy of your ballooning (.)(.)s! Hope you're feeling good today my lovely.

crazydayz · 08/09/2010 17:50

Hello all,

Just got back from Greece after discovering my BFP. Nice to 'meet' you all.

Waves to Cherry, Kurly and Crazy!

Cherry and Crazy please count me in for the nailbiting! The wait until first scan seems like an age especially as I haven't even made in to the doctors yet!

cherrycobbler · 08/09/2010 18:09

hello missdayz! Back from Greece - have you told MrD yet?? I can't believe you managed to not tell him as soon as you found out.

I have just made my doc's appt - next Tues morning so am not very far ahead at all!

kurlyvoice · 08/09/2010 18:19

Evening, all!

I also did a test today, cherry, to check, and it very quickly came up with the two red lines (it was a Tesco cheapie as I figured that if I'm pregnant on that at 5pm, I'd feel more positive!). It is wonderful to see those words though, isn't it? Am feeling sick again, except when I'm not eating, which is RIDICULOUS as it's going to get obvious if I start bulging over my trousers at school (I'm only a petite size 10 so any weight is immediately obvious on me). But do you know what, I don't ACTUALLY care, if it means that the bean is growing from all my foodie offerings.

Doesn't mean that I don't knicker check every time I go to the loo (which is rather often), so I'm totally with you on the nailbiting! Congrats, crazydayz, and lovely to see you back from your hols. How did you break the news to your DH? I'm little too in the bust department, MrsW - a 32C - but have had to resort to Gap vest-tops with a bit of support, although even that feels like its sticking into me.

Anyway, 33 weeks is amazing to us newbies, Hermya, so keep telling us all about it. How do you feel about your blossoming bump? Is it (if this isn't too personal a question) very basketball-up-the-top or more spread around? And what about those others of you who are towards the top of the list?

Right, am going to stop being nosy and persuade DH to make the dinner... Hope you all have good evenings!

cherrycobbler · 08/09/2010 18:56

ah kurly a girl after my own heart - not sure I'll ever get over the joy of seeing those words after so many BFNs! Am also obsessively knicker checking Blush

Hope you all have a good evening - off to have a hot herbal tea to try and steam through this horrible cold I have!

Hermya321 · 08/09/2010 19:39

Crazy I also found this by Bravado. It comes in a range of sizes, but it crosses cup sizes so it may last longer than a few weeks. I just bought some of the cheapy bras from Mark's. I've gone up a cup size twice in this pregnancy and just bought a black and a white one each time so as not to ratch up the bank balance.

Kurly It's a definate basket ball bump, you may find that you don't gain as much weight as you thought. I thought I'd be fit for bursting by this point (I feel like it) but I've ended up carrying pretty neatly. I think a lot of it depends on what your tummy muscles are like as to when they pop. My tummy muscles still haven't split, but I have been told that they don't always do. Also if you have a long torso, there is more room for the baby to spread themselves out so to speak.

MrsW I went off the fun stuff for quite a while, I think because I felt so tired and horrible it took all my energy just to show up for work with my hair brushed. You don't have to be all full on you know, you can always have a five minute snog on the sofa, give him a bit of a hand now and then so to speak, give him a massage that sort of thing. The most most important thing though is to talk to him and explain how you're feeling. Don't avoid the issue, it will only cause the issue to fester in your mind and the issue will feel bigger than it in reality actually is. I hope I don't sound preachy or anything, this is just what worked for me and my DH in the early days. I had similar thoughts to you and felt very guilty that I wasn't putting out as much. My DH was lovely about it and we got through it ok.

Cherry I have that as well, I think it's to do with the fact that your blood volume increases and the delicate tissues in your nose/ears become a bit smaller. I think you can use olbus oil, I would check that though. Also if you have a sore throat, you can use lockets and certain types of Stepsils, you can also take the cough medicine that is glycerin based but doesn't have all the other stuff in it like this one. I had a steaming cold in the early days and a very very helpful chemist at Tesco said this was ok.

As for my tea and cake today, it was brilliant!! I loved every minute of it, I'm now back at home and just basically going to start washing all the baby clothes and sorting the spare room out. I can't wait to meet the little guy.

luckyseven · 08/09/2010 20:03

girls i can t wait to catch up properly with you all. Two more weeks and we will have broadband again! ( stupid dh wanting sky sports and crap sky taking from june to get us broadband, a girl has got to frolick! Brilliant to have new grads on the board for more company to december. Oh i wonder when we will hear from november? And just a random question but how long has frolickers been going and who was the first one?

WorrisomeHeart · 08/09/2010 20:04

Ooh november good luck hon - hope the fact that we've not heard from you means you're well on your way!

pixie engaged, how exciting!! Not long now!

Just popping in quickly - my last week at work seems to be busier than ever so am knackered, apologies for not doing a full post! Welcome to all the newbies, so nice to see this thread getting lovely and full!

crazybutterflylady · 08/09/2010 20:36

Evening!
Welcome back crazydayz, how did it go when you broke the news to DP??

Good news on the testing kurly and cherry... I am planning to use my last digi one when I get back from geneva on tuesday. I am constantly checking my pants too, glad not just me Blush

hermya that looks fab too. The ones were sold out on mothercare and I can't face the trek to Oxford Street to look for them so I might just get a black one of these to see me through. i was nervous of getting ones with the clips in case I felt weird in it - have you been ok, there's no nip scratching going on?? Sorry for all the very personal questions... I blame kurly Grin she started it.

mrswajs I also have gone off but I think that's to do with me being scared to shake things up down there - haha! I think Mr C will be quite pleased though since I am the one that's always gagging for it, so he'll be enjoying the break... hopefully!

I got a letter from the midwife people today saying I was booked in for my booking in appointment Shock 5th October. Seems like a lifetime away! I keep thinking "if I can keep it till I have my scan it will be real" - not very PMA of me I know but it just feels like it's going to go wrong somehow...maybe just can't quite believe my luck!

Have a nice evening Frolickers! xxx

bunnygirl80 · 09/09/2010 00:09

It's nice to see so many new grads here all of a sudden.....although it's hard to keep up with all the new posts Grin

crazy I was buying new bras from about 6weeks pg - my boobs were sooooo sore I couldn't cope with underwires at all. I went for proper maternity bras as the brand I chose has plenty of room for growing so they don't need replacing too often. I went from a 32D pre-pg to a 32G by around 20 weeks - they haven't grown at all since then, although I'm a bit scared of how big they'll get once I'm BFing Grin

MrsW I've had no sex drive for the whole of my pg. DH has actually been really understanding about it, but he's also said that he finds it a bit weird knowing there's a baby in there. We still have lots of cuddles though Smile

oneof8 lol at the thought of you sitting at work with your hand down your trousers trying to feel LO moving Grin You'll be amazed at how quickly it progresses from desperately trying to feel kicks from the outside to having a bump that moves all by itself Smile

worrisome sorry to hear about your SIL having problems again. Hope she's getting the help she needs. I can't remember where in NZ your family are, but I hope they've avoided the earthquake

pixie not long to go now........

We had our weekend in the mountains. It was great - hotel was really nice. The restaurant there is one of the best in NSW and we had a fantastic meal there. I decided to live on the edge and have my lamb pink rather than asking for it well done - it was very yummy so definitely worth abandoning the eating in pg guidelines for one night Grin The weather actually wasn't too bad in the end..cloudy but no rain. So we decided to skip the spa and go hiking. We did 8km on Saturday and another 8km on Sunday Shock

I'm now well placed to give you all some advice - don't go hiking 8km up and down mountains when you're 29 weeks pg Grin I ended up half dead by the time we got home.....poor DH had to tuck me up in bed at 7:30pm as I was so tired and in tons of pain from my back and pelvis. Glad I did the walks though as the views were amazing - should probably have taken things a bit more slowly though

chancewouldbeafinething · 09/09/2010 01:39

DH is off at an interview so i have control of the laptop yeay!!

Bunny you are crazy! i am now 35 +4 and i am struggling to cope with a few little hills when dog walking never mind the blue mountains! Glad you had a good weekend tho...did you get DH anything for fathers day? My DH was hopeful, i told him he would be getting exactly what he got me for mothers day (it took him about 10 mins to realise he didnt get me anything) hope you are recovering this week.

ozzie i hope you have broken through the breast feeding wall - it seems everyone goes through a rough patch to start with. How did your DH go house hunting in sydney?

Worrisome ditto what bunny said about your relos in NZ, from memory they are in Auckland so I hope out of harms way. You must be excited to be on your last days of work. Look forward to putting your feet up next week.

oneof8 LOL at your trouser moment:) it is very exciting when you first feel movements, in fact it is still exciting now so dont worry about it.

pixie you could be next!!! its getting very exciting now...also a bit terrifying :)

hermya hope the cake and shopping was fun. How great that you now have so many things you can pass them on too. Good to hear that your labour bag has the essentials (make up) ready to go...I have warned DH no photos of me until i am ready!

addie when are you going to be finishing up work? i think you deserve a medal for still being there given how demanding your job is!

Well i did another GD test yesterday, hope to have results by monday, and find out if this boy is just big or i have GD. for some reason people who have had huge babies a re starting to come out of the woodwork to tell me their stories now....i dont want to know how many stitches you had people!!! I have to say some of my friends have been fantastic and DH has been subtly mentioning maybe we should adjust the birth plan to include some drugs if the active birthing doesnt go to plan. I am just trying to be relaxed and keeping my mind open until i hear the results.

Hope everyone has a good Thursday :)

bunnygirl80 · 09/09/2010 03:10

chance with hindsight I was completely crazy to walk that far.....didn't feel too bad at the time though. It was only after sitting in the car for 90mins driving back that I started to feel the pain!!

I didn't get DH anything for Father's Day cos he got me nothing for Mother's day, so I guess that's fair

Hope the results of your GD test are ok. People love to tell their birth related horror stories....I think it's just people's competitive nature coming out. Try and ignore them - for every woman who needed heaps of stitches there are plenty who just coughed and their baby popped out (at least that's what I keep telling myself!) Grin

aly323 · 09/09/2010 04:39

This is my third attempt at posting. I wrote a huge post and lost it. Then I wrote a shorter post and lost it. Oh well...

It's been awhile. Funny how life just sweeps you along so fast. My first twelve weeks took 6forever6, but lately time flies by. I can't believe I'll be 20 weeks in a few days.

I can't believe I haven't even said congrats to Ozzie. You have no idea how thrilled I was to hear that Thomas was healthy and "normal' sized. You did such a great job with managing your GD! It's obvious that you're going to be/are a great mom.

Welcome to Kurly, CrazyD, CrazyB, and Cherry. I'm so happy to see so much action here. It's a wild ride Smile.

I'm waiting anxiously for our next birth story- I'm assuming it'll be November, but who know with the way things have been going. I hope everyone is doing well in general.

Any new news Fudge?

I posted a couple of general belly pics from 17 weeks and two ultrasound pics to my profile. Hopefully it'll work. I'm even bigger already. I've been growing like crazy- I switched to real maternity bottoms around 16 weeks and wish I had done it earlier. I bought my first new bra at the same time. According to the sales lady, I should have done it way earlier (I was busting out). I went from 32B to 34D, but I might even need to go bigger. I LOVE my boobs and belly right now.

crazydayz · 09/09/2010 08:56

Morning all,

Willpower did prevail until I got home from Greece although the plane was delayed for 7 hours which meant doing another test with DH when I got home and him finding out at 2am in the morning whilst in bed!! He was really shocked and pleased which was excellent Grin.

My boobs are also starting to get bigger and sore - how is this possible at 4+4?

kkas · 09/09/2010 10:48

aly just popping in to say i love the pics! you look so cute!!! glad to hear everything is going ok. hope i'm joining you guys soon.

MissFlick · 09/09/2010 10:51

Hi aly Your pics are gorgeous- you are looking so blooming with that neat bump. So pleased for you chick.

Big waves to everyone else xxx

pixiestix · 09/09/2010 14:02

I love your pics Aly! Getting a bump is just so exciting. I am really going to miss mine. One of my friends said that for weeks after she had her son she would still find herself rubbing her belly and talking to it out of habit!! Blush Grin

Sorry to say MrsW but I lost my sex drive big time after the first couple of weeks and it has never really come back. DH has been a star about it, and takes anything that is offered at any time of the day or night Grin but I know it must be frustrating for him. Hopefully once the birth and its aftermath is over then everything will get back to normal.

Its so great to have such an influx of BFPs and heaps of chat. I feel so excited for you guys all going through this at the same stage!! I feel like I have been pg for a hundred years Confused

Kurly - my bump definitely looks like I have swallowed a beach ball. Its huge, even though I have only put on 7lbs over the course of the pg - I was fairly fat to start with so have been quite careful not to balloon. I started to look obviously pg from about 17 weeks, but was carrying much higher than Aly in her pics - it started right under my boobs. And with it started the heartburn [sigh]

Bunny - OMG, crazy lady!!!! Shock You put us all to shame. I get exhausted just going for a pint of milk these days! Grin

November - I can't wait to hear your news. Eeek!

Well, my piece of wisdom for the week is this - whoever says that once the baby drops your heartburn disappears is a big fat LIAR!! Grin I have read that in so many books and have been excitedly awaiting it, as I am getting through a giant bottle of Gaviscon a week. And now... the baby has engaged and my bump has dropped by a good three or four inches and I am still in agony!! Sad Grrrr!! Oh god, please don't say that this is for life now, I couldn't bear it....

pixiestix · 09/09/2010 14:13

Oh, and just for Lucky this is the thread where the Frolickers kind of became the Frolickers that we know and love, and people like Aly, Curly, Ozzie, Trying and Fulham joined. I can't find the very very first thread, but judging from the start of the thread I have linked to there would be none of our present Frolickers on it iykwim.
Happy reading! Smile
