crazy oooooh soooooo exciting re the house!! Whats it like?! When might you move? Must be the hormones but felt a bit teary when you said you could imagine your little family in there being very happy :) Mind you, I cried at the John Lewis Christmas ad last night (turned into me wailing on DH that some people don't have anyone to love...waaaaaaahhhh) so I it does seem I now cry at the drop of a hat! Fab re getting your appetite back, I am still being sick but definitely not as constantly nauseous as I was.

hermya had you always intended to go with cloth nappies? I like the idea of them but bit flummoxed with where the poo goes. Surely you don't just scrape it off each one?! May need some nappy education in a few months time (when you will be a pro!). Am similarly Shock about the milk flooding. Gosh.

Thanks for the cold sympathy mumsnerves, feeling much better today, just a bit more sick than usual. Almost fainted on the train this morning, practically ended up in some poor man's lap Blush. Had squeezed onto a fast train but think it will be slow train + guaranteed seat for me into work from now on - sitting down seems to make the world of difference.

Happy Mondays all!

seablue · 22/11/2010 15:36

Hello all! A short one as have so much to sort out at work before ML, but thank you bunny and hermya for encouraging words on SPD. God it would be wonderful if it went after the birth! And thanks for sympathy luckyseven Grin to being ML buddies!

cherry - I had good luck with H&M maternity clothes... and a nice shirt off ebay. I too have heard great things about asos.com

bunny - Will is lovely! and good tip on the bottles etc: will add to my list of Things To Do.

One less item on there as we bought a buggy yesterday! Feels very real now...

Have a good afternoonx

OneOf8 · 22/11/2010 16:09

Hey All

Quick one from me as stupid people cant follow instructions, and as a direct result increased my work load to an extent I have no idea how I am going to fit everything in as already doing working lunches, and staying late (plus taking stuff home to finish off if it gets to late)

Thank god only a few more weeks!

HH hope everything went well today. Been thinking of you

Shopping went well - will do a full update later

Hi to everyone else - posting and running, but will catch up properly soon x

HermyaAndThePomBears · 22/11/2010 17:54

Cherry Yeah I did, I had intended to do it from the get go but coming home I decided that getting BF going and recovering were enough to be getting on with. With the poo, once they're on solids you can use a liner and just flush it away. But BF poo is a bit runnier and tends to go through a liner. I use a fleece liner in mine to preserve the liner of the nappy. But honestly it just washes out and if you have a stain you can bleach it out with a few hours on the washing line on a sunny day.

haloflo · 22/11/2010 19:50

crazy Glad to hear your appetite is back, before you know it you will in the hungry phase like me (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it) V exciting about the house move, tell us more!

cherry Glad to hear your cold is a little better even if your sickness isn't. Hope your date comes though quick when you ring. Probably better that way as I knew 9 weeks in advance when mine was and each day felt like a week! I asked about doppler's earlier on (not sure if this thread or the end of the last one) and aly has one she likes and finds easy to use. I didn't go for one in end though, time just crept on and now I'm happy with my gentle kicks.

mumsnerves You sound very ready to me. Happy anniversary for yesterday! Fortunately the leakage is minimal at the moment so completely hidden in my bra.

oneof8 When do you finish for ML? Sorry to hear you are so busy at work and you are working extra. I gave my official notice today that I want to finish on 25 Feb (3 weeks, 2 days before i'm due) Was very exciting although a little scary.

bunny Glad to hear you've been out for lunch twice and that milk isn't short supply.

hermya Love the new name! Also the moby sling looks good. Will check it out

flick Nice to see you! Hope all is ok with you .

highheels Thinking of you. xxx

Had my flu jab today and am pleased to report I feel no different, not even a sore arm. Baby has kicked a little this evening too so he/she must be ok too. Just thought I'd let others who are thinking of having it know.

I can't wait until I can feel kicks on the outside and DP can too. They are defiantly thuds not but feel deep inside me if that makes sense and often quite low down. Oh lucky I asked about how much I should feel kick wise with an anterior placenta and they just said I should feel them daily by 24 weeks. I will quiz again at my 25 week appointment.

Also wanted to add a quick moan that I seem to be prone to pins and needles at the moment. Mostly just when I've been sat with my legs up on the sofa or leaning on my hand but last night I kept waking up with a dead arm (I sleep on my arm) I hope this passes as it meant a very restless night.

luckyseven · 22/11/2010 20:14

halo pins and needles in your hand could be carpal tunnel, that's how i got diagnosed it is mostly in pointing middle and half of ring fimger for some reason. Sleeping with my hand above my head helps! Not much else they can do if it is but some people get a splint from the physio.

Just checking in - have a cup of tea and red lindt waiting - anyone else want some?

highheelsandequations · 22/11/2010 20:15

Very quick post as I am just home from parents night and exhausted (considering crawling into bed to eat my dinner!). Good news is that everything went well this morning. Sac has increased to 25mm, yolk sac clearly visible and our little pip has grown to 8mm and we saw the heartbeat clearly :) :) Nurses said everything looks good so fingers crossed it's plain sailing from here on in. Thank you for all your thoughts over the past few weeks and the kind words. Keep sending your positive vibes this way so we can be on track for sharing the good news at Christmas lunch :o

Almost feel like I can start being a proper member of this thread now :o Hope everyone's had a good start to the week.

haloflo · 22/11/2010 20:23

highheels That is fabulous news! I am so pleased for you! Whats next for you then? Any more scans from the clinic or you in the 12 week wait now? I bet you are exhausted but hopefully you will sleep well tonight.

cherrycobbler · 22/11/2010 21:03

highheels brilliant news, so pleased! hope you are feeling v happy and positive. will continue to have all fingers crossed for you.

thanks for the info hermya. love the new name - is it to do with the Bear s?

highheelsandequations · 22/11/2010 21:12

no more scans from the clinic halo, just waiting for 12 weeks now. Am hoping I'll manage to get the 12 week scan in just before Christmas. Does the time start passing any quicker anytime soon?

bunnygirl80 · 22/11/2010 21:15

highheels that's fab news. Hope the rest of your pg is trouble free Smile

haloflo · 22/11/2010 21:16

Sorry lucky I missed your post there. I will definatly keep an eye on the pins and needles, I just thought it was another of those pregnancy things. Does it normally clear up after the birth? And I love red lindt, thank you!

mumnerves · 22/11/2010 21:53

bunny thanks for the reasssurance. lol at your spraying milk and bikini line, is this what I've got to look forward to??!! Wink

Hermya which real nappies did you go for in the end? I've only got totbots and terries in at the moment as I got them cheap and thought they'd be a good start. Thanks for the reassurance that life does still go on after the birth :)

Crazybutterfly my most comfy maternity trousers are from GAP and they are very well made too, I got them in the summer sale so you've done quite well there :)

haloflo hope you manage to get to the cause of your pins and needles soon, probably best getting it seen to now in case it gets worse. Kicks on the outside are ok until you get the alien hand/foot/random limb which looks pretty freaky but also highly amusing :o

highheels what fantastic news!!! hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy after such a horrible start :)

lucky thanks for the red lindt....mmmmm one of my fav sins!

Have a good evening ladies!

HermyaAndThePomBears · 23/11/2010 07:30

Cherry Yeah it is, I felt like jumping on that particular bandwagon for a little while as it made me giggle.

Mumsnerves I got a real mixture, I've got tots bots (two parters and the all in ones), bumgenius, little lambs, itti bittis and a few other random ones. As I suspected it is the bumgenius that seems to suit DS. We tried the itti bittis on him and they were awful so they're going to be sold on cloth nappy tree (when I get round to it).

Highheels It does tend to go quicker in the middle, drags towards the end and then gets quicker once the baby is born.

Oh before I forget, has anyone been considering a feeding cushion? If you can try one out with a baby before you invest I would recomend it. I've got a wrigly cushion and although it's useful I've found that it can be a bit of a pain to move around. I've got a bean baggy type cushion as well (it was lying around) that I've started using a bit more often and it's good as you can squish it and bash it around.

DS had a bit of a moment last night and within the space of five minutes managed to ruin two of my tops, a babygrow, a vest, sleeping bag and his moses basket. Really I couldn't help but be impressed at his chaotic tendancies.

crazybutterflylady · 23/11/2010 09:35

Morning all!

First of all highheels woooooohoooooooo I am over the moon for you honey, really chuffed. Now you have the morning sickness to look forward to, lucky girl! You havent told any of the family yet then?! Much more willpower than me :)

cherry and hermya what am I missing about the pombears? WAAAA I hate missing things Grin Blush

The house is in a little village called Aspley Guise near Woburn (beds). Can't wait. We went back last night to have another look and I love the house. Just a bit nervous about being so far out from civilisation, having lived in London for the last 13 years. I should be ok thought and like DH says, we have to make a few mistakes to get things right so we have to be brave. Eek.

Happy Tuesday everyone... M&S extremely chocolately biscuits all round xx

pixiestix · 23/11/2010 15:04

Hi all, sorry I can't post at the moment - my computer is beyond repair so I am stealing a minute on my mum's, but just wanted to say I am thinking of you all, and wish lots of luck to Mumnerves for the impending birth!

highheelsandequations · 23/11/2010 17:00

Thanks cherry, bunny, mumnerves, hermya and crazyb I am trying to stay positive and not panic! DP is fed up with my complaining when I feel rotten and then panicking when I don't. He has invented the "jiggle test" for when I start obsessing about whether my boobs are still as sore! (He has also started to refer to them as "boobies" claiming that this is a child friendly term, which I find slightly disconcerting!)

crazyb I told my mum and dad last week as I was so stressed out not having anyone in RL to talk to but we haven't told any other family yet. So exciting about your house, is it ready to move in to or does it need a lot of work? I've told DP that he has to get ours finished by July now :o I love the idea of living in a little village, is it absolutely gorgeous?

Off to try and see if I can still manage a pilates class, need to try and get there before anyone else so I can tell my instructor, just hoping she won't kick me out as I'm starting to feel a little lazy and out of shape, am not managing to follow the "only an extra 300 calories a day" rule and have about doubled my calorie intake in the past couple of weeks I think!

Nearly halfway through the week and only one parents night left (and less than 4 weeks of term, yay!). Hope everyone's having a good week.

Bellaby · 23/11/2010 18:48

Highheels. Am so pleased for you. I found the wait to 12 weeks did seem to last ages but perhaps the fact it is the Christmas season will make the time go more quickly

Can't believe I've not been on here for ages. Have been reading but never got round to finishing a post - naughty Bellaby! Been watchi the tennis at the O2 this afternoon so home nice and early thanks to Murray's dismal display. Grin

Kurly I'm glad your conference went well a couple of weeks ago. Sounds lime a lot of fun. Hope the scan goes well on Friday

Aly think it was you that asked what I thought I was having. I've been feeling like it's a girl since the beginning. Will find out in 3 weeks time if I am right! Hate being asked by people what I would prefer to have. I do have a preference but wouldn't share it with anyone in case it turns out bot to be. Not sure whether we will tell people. I would prefer not to tell anyone after we found out and my Mum has told me she doesn't want to know but DH doesn't think telling everyone is a big deal. What has everyone else done?

Lucky & seablue just a few days now until your ML begins! Hope you both manage to have some relaxation time. 261days -lucky you Lucky! I am going to try and start my ML after the royal wedding (thanks to the happy couple for such a well timed date) so benefit from the extra day off and May bank holiday if I can keep going that long!

Cherry hope your energy levels are still improving. I've started to notice that too and its great being able to stay up later than 9pm! I still can't stand the thought of vegetables though and was sick last week after eating a salad.

Crazy that's great you are being allowed to work from home on Fridays. I would love to do that but it's never going to happen. Luckily my boss is really lovely and understanding if I want to leave early some days. Really exciting news about your house - sounds lovely. I lived in London for 8 years but now love it when we go down to our house at the weekend. DH has said he will try commuting again once the LO arrives so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that works out.

Cherry how did you find the M&S trousers? I am definitely getting to the stage where I need to buy some new clothes. Went to Bluewater on Saturday and was so disappointed they didn't have any maternity clothes in store. Was really hoping to try some before I buy.

Hermya so lovely to hear how you have been getting on. I'm very impressed you are using cloth nappies. They scare me! 4 weeks already - why won't my pregnancy go that quickly? Wink

YTD I don't think I congratulated you. You were a star with the way you handled everything. So lovely to hear your DH is being so wonderful. Grin

Halo glad to hear I'm not the only one with a strong interest in chips. I seem to eat them a lot at the moment! Also hear you on the shopping. When we were in John Lewis I had to sit down while DH was talking to the shop assistant because I was tired & hungry. The good thing was that we went in the evening - got there at 6 when most people were leaving! Let's see if we are both right about having girls!

Bunny always lovely to hear from you and I'm so glad to hear you've managed to get out so early after Will was born. Then again if I remember correctly weren't you walking up mountains at some crazy late stage of your pregnancy??

oneof8 sorry to hear you are working so hard. Not long left now

Halo sorry to hear about your pins and needles. Hope it doesn't cast too long

Mumsnerves glad you managed to get out somewhere nice for your anniversary. Very excited that you haven't got long to go now.

Hello mrsW - hope you are well. Did your work situation get resolved?

Really sorry if I've missed anyone - big wave

Not much news from me. Only a week and a half until our holiday so really looking forward to that. We had MIL visit us last weekend - first time we've seen her since we told her the news. She is SO excited. Kept trying to talk to my stomach ("your granny loves your very much") because she said it was important Hmm. She also bought us 3 books on pregnancy and a pregnancy journal for me to fill in, some leggings and 2 tops for me. She has a heart of gold and it's a lovely thought but it was a little over the top. She was also asking what else we need and I had to tell her we hadn't really thought about it yet otherwise she'd probably rush out and buy it. Told DH we need to encourage her to buy less for us as can potentially see it being a problem and would rather she saves her money (which she really needs to be doing) and just buys us the odd thing which we'd be equally pleased with - hope I don't sound like a horrible person!

Has anyone bought any maternity clothes from JoJo Maman? Saw a lady at work wearing a gorgeous wrap around woollen cardi but didn't have the courage to ask her where she got it.

Also for any of the smaller busted ladies on here where did you get your maternity swimwear? I need to get something for my holiday in a couple of weeks that can then last me for as much of the next 6 months as possible. All the swimsuits I've seen seem to have ample room on the bosom so would look silly on me

Anyway hope I have redeemed myself with that post

Have a lovely evening xxx

MissFlick · 24/11/2010 09:55

Great news highheels :)

Hello to all of you other lovely ladies- can't wait until I can join you properly xxxx

cherrycobbler · 24/11/2010 16:21

hello flick!! Also can't wait till you join properly too - I have my fingers crossed for your current 2WW although sorry the progesterone is making you feel so rubbish.

bella lovely to hear from you, what a fab mammoth post! My M&S trousers looked a bit odd when I tried them on properly, but probably because bump is still not bumplicious enough so they're a bit flappy. Was looking at a pencil skirt from Jojo Maman which I may have to invest in soon. Pregnancy is much more expensive that I was budgeting for! (assumed most money would be on baby not me!). Lovely that your MIL is so pleased but wow, that is a lot of buying going on. I would be the same to be honest and would rather not be overwhelmed.

crazy yay for village living! sounds lovely and although you will naturally fret about leaving the Big Smoke I bet you won't look back. Its soo exciting!

lucky is this your last week before ML? Eeek!

halo glad flu jab was ok. Mine is tomorrow - have slight remnants of my weekend cold but hope it will still be fine to have, as I've postponed it once already so may be my last chance.

highheels the first six weeks really dragged for me - then morning sickness kicked in and I just concentrated on getting through the day so the six weeks till the 12 week mark wasn't so bad in terms of aimless waiting, if that makes sense? Obv hope you don't get any m/s or tiredness but hopefully time will start to move a bit quicker for you now.

MissFlick · 25/11/2010 06:30

Thanks lovely cherry xxx

mumnerves · 25/11/2010 17:16

Thanks everyone for the well wishes! Am still waddling about and no sign so far of anything happening yet. MW said this morning that she's predicting 7-8lbs which am quite pleased about.

Hermya I'm actually quite excited about using my real nappies, got some lovely wraps, so hope LO gets on with them.

Crazybutterfly hope you get the house you want, just think of all that space for LO to run around and the fresh air!

Highheels pilates and yoga are just the best. My classes really helped with my back ache and I could tell if I missed a weeks class. Time dragged for me during first trimester, and then 2nd and 3rd just flew by, LO will be here sooner than you realise :)

Bellaby I don't think you're being horrible to your MIL esp if she needs to save money. Also I'm sure you'll want to choose some of the things yourself. I got a bit Angry at my MIL who kept putting her hands on my belly. Bit my tongue cos I've only seen her twice since telling them the news but I did almost thump her when I was trying to swallow a mouthful sandwich and she decided that was a good time to feel my belly!! Biscuit

Hi flick how lovely of you to pop in and hope you and some of the other ladies manage BFPs to join us soon, it doesn't seem that long since I was on the other thread and time just seems to have flown by for me, but I'm sure it's dragged for the rest of you so realy hope not long before we get some more BFPs!!!

My next milestone now is friday evening, we're going to see Harry potter and I'm really looking forward to it. It's started snowing here too and don't want to have to make the mad dash to hosp in heavy snow conditions.

Have a good evening ladies!! x

MrsWajs · 26/11/2010 10:43

Hi guys!!
It's been quite quiet in here, my keyboard seems to have started working again for some bizarre reason so thought I would try a post before my luck runs out!!

Highheels I am really pleased for you and hope the next few weeks fly by (although I know from experience it won't feel like they do!) Once you get past the 1n week mark though, it definitely does fly past!

Can't believe I am almost 19 weeks already! Got my scan date for 9th December so tie will probably go slowly for me until then but who cares, I'm sooo excited to see baba again :)

I've got a proper bump on the go now, it's not totaly solid but it is definitley there and people are commenting on it, I looked at your pictures too bunny and my bump is probably bigger than the one you have on your profile for 21 weeks Blush but then again I suspect I was probably bigger than you to begin with!

As for DP he has been on best behaviour since the last little indiscretion and has also invested in nicotine patches and has only had two minor slip ups so he's doing really well which in turn makes me a much happier mummy! I'm so glad cus I was hating being so stressed all the time! He has also got a new job now too, making much better money so he is happier about that and I can stop worrying about finances all the time! God I'm actually a proper little stress-head!

Found out this week that my cousin is 1s weeks pregnant after nearly 3 years of trying and 2 miscarriages so I am absolutely thrilled for her! And another friend is 13 weeks as well, that combined with the other 2 girls I know who are due the same day as me . . . I'm not kidding it's like there has been a baby boom around these parts!! DP is a bit put out cus he feels like people are stealing our thunder!! We were trying for a year and no-one we knew got pregnant in that time and suddenly as soon as we announce our news everyone else does too! Never mind.

Sorry I haven't done individual mentions, I have really just been lurking since I couldn't post so not really totally up to date on whats been happening but good luck to mumsnerves as I see you are next on the list!! xx

MrsWajs · 26/11/2010 10:46

Oh god typo's!!

maybe the keyboard is playing games with me!!

kurlyvoice · 27/11/2010 12:34

Happy Saturday everyone,

We've had a beautiful covering of snow here which I am enjoying from inside my nice warm house, having managed to take DH to the station for a London rehearsal. Unfortunately I have the cold of doom and have been really struggling with a sore throat and rapidly disappearing voice, which, when coupled with staying late at school for open evenings and concerts has been no good for my social life!

However, I did have my 20 week scan (well, 19+6) yesterday and all was perfect with the little one. It was being a bit of a pickle and refused to face the sonographer or take its hands away from its face, but we got there in the end! The sex of the baby is going to be a surprise but I am so pleased to have survived that little milestone that I expect shopping is going to start very soon as I felt that it might jinx things to do so any earlier. I have fallen in love with a colourful hedgehog theme in Mamas&Papas so am hoping to drag DH to Norwich and max out the credit card!

That was all very mememe so I am now going to have a good read through everything that I've missed and catch up again later. :)
