Good luck yorkshire!!!

chancewouldbeafinething · 04/11/2010 04:45

Sorry for being such a slacker!!!

William James arrived on 21/10 weighing 4.5kgs (9lbs 14.5oz) after several failed and one successful attempt at being induced he was born via CS late in the evening.

Life has been a bit hectic since then, lucky to have my mum close by now so she can pop in once a day and take him off my hands long enough for me to go to the loo and have a shower (little monkey likes to be held 24-7)

I will endeavour to do a proper catch up when i have more time - hope all is well with everyone xxxx

bunnygirl80 · 04/11/2010 06:00

Good luck yorkshire

Congratulations chance Sounds like your mum is being really helpful Smile

Hope everything is going ok YTD!! Very exciting!

Congratulations on the birth of your son Chance Hope everything is going well as a new mummy and that you are feeling ok after the CS.

No news or excitments to report from me, so just to say hope everyone is ok x

mumnerves · 04/11/2010 09:54

Crazydayz WOW!!! Twins!! Congratulations about time we got twins on this thread :o

oneof8 I know exactly how you feel about not being able to dose up! When I had my first cold I was dying to dose up with decongestants and ibuprofen, do make sure you don't push yourself too hard and listen to your body.

highheels I first started feeling the yucky first trimester symptoms at 5 weeks. The only symptom I was getting until then were sore boobs. I had full intentions of going to the gym until the fatigue hit me at 5 weeks. I think the guidence is that you can exercise where you only feel breathless to the point of still being able to hold a conversation. I started doing yoga and swimming instead of my usual classes. I think contact sports are a no-no as well. I blame Paula Ratcliffe for still running a marathon whilst pregnant and giving us all unrealistic expectations :o
I drank most herbal teas throughout and I think it's only raspberry leaf you need to avoid for now. I too like haloflo drank a lot of rooibos.

luckyseven sorry to hear about the carpal tunnel, very painful from what I've heard, hope you're leaving the screwing of those wardrobes to Mr luckyseven!

Yorkshire Good luck for today!! How exciting, hope everything goes well for you and can't wait for baby YTD to make an apprearance :)

Chance Congratulations!!! 9lbs 14.5oz Shock What a big boy!!! Hope you're recovering ok after your cs x

Not much to report just caught another cold, I think that my body is telling me rest and stop trying to do things around the house! Have a nice day everyone!

crazybutterflylady · 04/11/2010 11:57

Congrats chance and well done, sounds like a pretty eventful labour! Lovely to hear from you x

Loads of luck yorkshire we're allw aiting with baited breath :) x

bunnygirl 4 months with the ILs?? Wow. I thought 4 days at Christmas was brave Grin

Bellaby glad you enjoyed yoga! My class is a Wednesday too... I love it. The instructor runs a birthing class too which your partner attends with you. I can't wait for my time :)

to everyone else x

luckyseven · 04/11/2010 12:31

mumnerves i just looked at your due date and of the 10 couples in my ante natal class the other night - 8 of them were due on the 8th December; which ties in nicely with the Saint Patrick's Day holiday over here! Rubbish about your cold, i had one last week and zapped it with rest and loads of M&S oranges and hot ribena!

chance congratulations on William, hope all is going smoothly for you. Seeing his weight makes me glad I have bought some 0-3 month sleepsuits for the hospital just in case.

halo hope all goes well and bunny all the best with the in-law visit!

haloflo · 04/11/2010 13:25

Just wanted to let you know my 20 week scan went well. It was such a relief! They couldn't check the spine so i've got to go back Tuesday but they said don't worry so I won't. Couldn't tell the sex due its position but might find out Tuesday or in 20 weeks time... Either way I don't mind.

Back later for a proper update. xx

haloflo · 04/11/2010 17:26

Hi all, sorry I was going to do a more detailed (and slightly less me me me!) post but I need to get to my mums & then to DP's parents to show off the new photo.

Will try tomorrow night but might be the weekend when I next get chance.

Hope all are well.

highheelsandequations · 04/11/2010 20:10

just quickly popping in to say glad everything went well at the scan halo, enjoy showing off the photos!

mumnerves · 05/11/2010 20:26

lucky Not meaning to be naive but I thought St patricks day was an Irish holiday celebrated in March where everyone drinks lots of Guinness and gets drunk? Blush Please do enlighten me!

congrats on the scan haloflo So pleased for you how far you and LO have come :o Hope you enjoyed showing the pic off!!

Not much on my side to report except am now apparently snoring really really loudly at night due to cold and bump pressing on my diaphragm Blush Poor DH had to sleep on the sofa to get some rest from the noise last night :( (I have never snored in my life!!)

luckyseven · 05/11/2010 21:21

i think it might have been the guinness and the partying that led to the babymaking!

luckyseven · 05/11/2010 21:30

superpenguin · 05/11/2010 21:47

ooh just looked at the jojo maman bebe website, their sleepsuits are so cool! thanks hermya

mumnerves · 05/11/2010 21:53

Lucky looks at the calender...hmmm I think I've been caught out Wink whereabouts are you if you don't mind me asking? Was just thinking and in western europe they celebrate sintaklaus which is like a saint christmas thingy, is that what's happening on 8th of dec? :)

MrsWajs · 05/11/2010 22:21

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

need to vent.

DP is an arsehole. Why are men so inconsiderate?? Finished work tonight at 9 and he is in the pub - no surprise there, so I go in for a bit and watch him and his friend play pool, by 10 o clock after him playing continuously for that time I ask him what time he intends on finishing up so we can leave. Oh, he has no intention of leaving just yet he's staying out with said friend for a bit. Fan-f**king-tastic so I've sat around like an idiot for the last hour for absolutlely naff all. Great.

I AM LIVID Angry Stormed out of the pub and am now at home in floods of tears looking for something I can break because I am so pissed off.

The fact that no dishes are washed and that DP has obviously had something fried for tea and the house stinks is not helping!!

I know my anger issues since becoming pregnant are not normal but he is soo not helping the fact. I don't know what to do, I really want to go and stay at my mums to teach him a lesson but know it will only aggravate things further. :(:(

luckyseven · 05/11/2010 23:32

mumsnerves sorry i have been very confusing. I am in northern ireland btw. Basically in the class they had worked out that all the babies were conceived on and around st patricks day which is march seventeenth. I wonder if the local maternity ward experiences the same baby boom every year! Mrs w poor you boys can be really annoying sometimes. I fell out with dh last week for cooking kippers. Gross. Maybe things will seem better in the morning after a good sleep?

aly323 · 06/11/2010 04:01

Lucky and Mumsnerves, my other pregnancy (the mc) was due on Dec 8. I also have a friend who is due Dec. 8. There was definitely something special going on in the middle of March...

Huge congrats to Chance and Worriesome!!! So many new babies. For some reason, seeing you guys move up has made it seem more real that I'll be going before long. It's a little scary.

Crazy, wow! Good job on that. I'm a little Envy and a little relieved it didn't happen to us! Twins are so exciting!!

Welcome and congrats to Highheels, too!! We were in desperate need of a new BFP. Hopefully more will come soon!

We are moving along with our nursery, which is great since we really need a place to put the pile of baby stuff. We also settled on a nice neutral tannish color. DH has finished replacing the window and built a new closet and window frame. He also built wainscoting. I was just going to paint the room, but it really seems to mean a lot to him. Too bad it also means he left our family room floor half-done for now. Oh well. It'll all be nice and done eventually.

A friend just sent over a box of clothes that her 6-month old recently outgrew. I've been in heaven going through the tiny outfits. The box is huge. I also received the first gift off my registry. A friend bought me a pack-and-play with a bassinet and napper. I cried a little. I'm really emotional. It's actually starting to feel real. We've started our classes and I have a shower planned (yup- very American!). I have 7 more weeks of work. Yay!!

MrsWajs, I'm just starting to feel my hormones kick in. I cry so easily right now. From joy, frustration, anger, sympathy. I also find myself getting very angry very fast. I'm definitely not a good one to give advice right now, but wanted you to know that I would be seething, too.

Ok, I'm off to bed. I'm starting to wear out very early.

highheelsandequations · 06/11/2010 20:30

Hi everyone, hope we're all enjoying the weekend. Thank you for sharing your early symptom stories with me, it's giving me some reassurance! I am starting to feel exhausted already, have very sore boobs and am eating everything in sight! Really need to start getting back to a healthier lifestyle.

MrsW I hope you are feeling a little better, men can be assholes sometimes. We went to the pub last night to see some friends, I'd already said I didn't want to be out late so at about 10.30 DP asked if I wanted to stay, I said no, twice, he then accepted the offer of another pint from someone! My friend couldn't believe it. Then as I drove him home he drunkenly told me more than once that he'd heard me say "I don't mind". Then finally when we got home and I was dying for the loo and couldn't wait to get into bed, he ran upstairs and locked himself in the bathroom before I could get there! I've told him he has to look after me tomorrow to make up for it :)

bunnygirl80 · 06/11/2010 20:47

mumnerves I'm yet to drive DH from the bed with my snoring but he has complained a couple of times. I told him it's payback for the 9 years I've put up with his Grin

halo great news about your scan. Hope LO's a bit more cooperative for next week's attempt

aly glad to hear the nursery's taking shape

MrsW hope your DP is suitably apologetic

I've spent the last 2 days suffering what the TV would politely call "digestive discomfort" Blush Not sure if I've eaten something dodgy or if this is the fabled pre-labour clear out of my digestive system. Am really hoping it's the start of something happening, but reckon I'm going to be disappointed. We're going out for a posh luch today for MIL's 60th birthday, but I really can't face the thought of eating a ton of rich food. Don't want to let on that I've had so much as a twinge yet though, as don't think I could stand the phone calls every 30 secs to see if I'm in full blown labour or not, so looks like I'll have to just grin and bear it

mumnerves · 06/11/2010 21:26

lucky & aly It must have been something about spring time! Imagine if LO found out he/she was conceived on ST Patricks day after a drunken fumble, how embarrassing for LO Wink

MrsW I hope you got a suitable apology. DH was the same to start off with but as I think I've gotten further in he's gotten better, maybe he just needs time to realise it's not just about him anymore.

bunny Just a thought, why don't you tell everyone that at this stage due to the pressure against your stomach you can't eat alot and nothing too rich? that way you don't have to explain anything :)

Happy bonfire night everyone! x
