Lovely cot, Drom Like Muse, I want one for the laziest possible feeds Grin That one's a bit expensive for me or am I being naive as to price?

MrsFC · 23/09/2010 16:49

Count me in - it would be lovely to catch up! We're probably not going back this year now though - but I reckon I'll be back for Feb half term definitely - it would be great to meet! It's near Stroud more than Brizzle really.

honeymoney, unfortunately I grew up in Dursley, so I probably don't know your boy. That would have been most interesting...

PerfectDromedary · 23/09/2010 17:25

Scorps have only found about 3 versions of the attach-to-bed cot so far, all around the same price, though I think that one is the most expensive I've seen to date.

Scorpette · 23/09/2010 17:36

Better sharpen up my penny whistle skills then, Drom Sad

maswera · 23/09/2010 18:08

Have just returned from first maternity-wear-seeking trip, which was almost a complete disaster... Was wanting to treat myself a bit, as the only maternity type item I have at the moment are my jeans that I cut up and sewed elastic into... But hardly any of the shops I would normally go to have maternity sections - and those that do only had a few plain tops. Almost blubbed after I trekked over to Debenhams only to be told they don't have a maternity department. Seriously, what do people do? Most places referred me to their online shops, but I always have to try a dozen things on for every one I buy

CurlyCasper · 23/09/2010 18:13

our debenhamas does Red Herring maternity, mas. I generally did bigger size tops from normal shops; ebay and next for trousers. But I agree that it's shit to have so little on the High Street.

maswera · 23/09/2010 18:30

Aaarrrrrghhh - I did finally managed to find something to wear tonight (going to our fave restaurant as welcome home treat) - have just put it on to find the security tag is still on

MrsFC · 23/09/2010 18:49

Not sure where you live mas but I had to venture to Bluewater. Dorothy Perkins, H&M, M&S, and the best stuff was actually from Mothercare...

SilverSky · 23/09/2010 19:10

I second Mothercare and H&M.

Question to all PESHs - why are men such bleeding knobs!!!!!!! HI is in a raving strop. I think it's cos he is tired. He has thrown his toys completely out of his pram and is now beig a sulky arse. NCT tonight is going to be fun.

I iz 36+3 today. I have been getting pains in the rhs of my tum, quite high up. On and off since this morning. I can still feeling junior moving around. Plz to tell it's ligaments stretching where bump has dropped a little and not contractions. I thank you!

We bought one "starter" kit of baby clothes. Yet we have been given soooooooooo much stuff it's untrue! I am desperate to make sure it all gets used.

CurlyCasper · 23/09/2010 19:15

My BHs/contractions were generally very low rather than all over or high silver. But I am far from normal, seeing as I didn't have normal, regular cxs at any point in labour. You've made it two days longer than me already. So if it feels different, it might just be. I felt weird in the day or so before my show anyway. When it happened, deep inside I knew it was time. Not sure if anyone else experienced this.

My man became a bit if a twat as fatherhood loomed. I think they just handle it very strangely. He'll sort himself out as soon as you utter the "L" word*

*Labour Grin

CUNextTuesday · 23/09/2010 19:29

I can't remember what my contractions felt like owing to complete hypnotization of self, sorry.

Moo ref co-sleeping. Rastus and I still do it Grin Tis not bad mothering - dosing up with FF just before bed for a decent's nights kip and co-sleeping with Rastus on his front under a duvet is bad mothering

Scorpette · 23/09/2010 20:06

Cunty, that's all the recommendation I need for hippo birthing (possibly not for co-sleeping Wink)!

SkiHorseWonAWean · 23/09/2010 20:07

I didn't feel my BH even though the CTG showed they were happening. My contractions were horrendous. Just found out an hour ago that they closed the maternity ward the day I checked out... seemed things weren't going too well (too many c-sections) due to the fact that by the time women were going in to labour they were already exhausted due to the heat... and those who'd had the babies weren't recovering - due to the heat. :(

mas If you're in the north-west then simply ask yourself - "what would Cheshire WAGs wear?"! Grin

rollerbaby · 23/09/2010 20:27

Cunty I like. In my case pleeze to add doggy hairy moo on foot of bed for bad mothering award of the year. :)

Painting of room and furniture 99.9% done thanks to my rather brilliant dad and shelves hung up. Saturday we are washing clothes and putting stuff in the room. I fink I feel a bit teary already...

I think the pains are supposed to be low down and periody silver. But then again, wtf do I know?

Mini hairy woof has a cold. Keeps sneezing. Is sweet, but sad.

Muser · 23/09/2010 20:37

Co-sleeping is not bad mothering. Many women all over the world do it. Obviously not great idea if you are a smoker or have been drinking, but it's not a terrible thing to do.

I have my doppler now, tis ace. MrM got to hear the heartbeat and was very impressed. And then started listening to my leg for some reason.

I can also report that if you don't have any of the gel stuff, a bit of regular lube will work fine.

OP posts:
MrsFC · 23/09/2010 20:50

Right then, all round to musers for a go on her doppler!

CUNextTuesday · 23/09/2010 20:55

scorps its the best thing I ever did. Highly recommend.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 23/09/2010 21:17

Hey y'all! Lovely to have MassWee back! Proper catch up tom, just wanted to confirm am still here, no signs at all of Clint moving out. Last night I had dreadful pmt and a few very faint cramps, so today was completely disappointing. Had a nice day out shipping

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 23/09/2010 21:20

Stupid virtual keyboard...

shopping with mother and making another cake for lunch with friend tomorrow. Have also eaten huge pizza by self and several bourbon creams.

Tomorrow have mw appt. Worried about sweep. May decline it if offered. Sounds gross and also useless.

PerfectDromedary · 23/09/2010 21:24

Vaggette yoga teacher last night said sweep was gross, useless and painful. In her words, "are you a floor to be swept"?

rollerbaby · 23/09/2010 21:30

vaggo hippo guru says sweep just lets them know if you are ready for induction and not to - they'll come when they are ready. Frankly I'd rather avoid as many instances of people putting their hands up my foo foo, but that's just me.

Pizza + biscuits sounds like a good evening to me.

Period pains sounds promising to me... Shipping less so.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 23/09/2010 21:33

Fanks Moo & Cam - nice to hear there is some basis for declining

CurlyCasper · 23/09/2010 21:35

sweep is supposed to bring labour on by messing with the membranes if poss. Vaginal exam with a bit of action, I suppose. I had a few VEs. They were not that bad, and let me know where we stood seeing as Cxs were so fucked up. Using VEs we went from "you're having tightenings but not sure labour happening" to (three hours later) "ok, so you are a couple of centimetres and this baby will be here within 12 hours". Worth it IMO - got SFF out of work and mum to me on time Smile

rollerbaby · 23/09/2010 21:37

drom only just seen your cot link. Looks genius solution. I would buy one, but I can't justify the baby having 3 beds :)

Scorpette · 23/09/2010 22:06

VAGpot! Sorry to hear Clint is in no hurry but your avo of shipping and gluttony sounds rather fab Grin

What is it about the thought of a sweep that seems more horrible than actual birth, to me? Is thought of relative stranger sticking their hand where they shouldn't and feeling a bit like that cow Christopher Timothy got stuck into on All Creatures Great And Small (just thought I'd share that imagery with y'all). Confused Mind you, I give VAG 3 more days before you're out on the street begging strangers at the bust stop to give it a try! (I know your sort Wink)

Honeymoo, 'Mini hairy woof has a cold' sounds v wrong. For a whole minute, I thought you were saying you had a vaginal infection! Shock Grin

My parents co-slept on and off with me and my bro when we were babies (and sometimes as kids). Never did us any harm (you might want to dispute this amongst yourselves). And Cunty, am DEFO going to go the hippo route. Breathing, I mean, but judging by the scales... Sad
