Oh Cos it SUCKS for you. Hope hosp are helpful.

OkieCokie · 02/09/2010 09:37

Is am back from holiday and I found this male masseuse at the hotel spa who I have brought back for you laydeeez to enjoy. He doesn't speak much English but he is VERY with his hands and can rub away all those pregnancy aches and pains. Now, form an orderly queue and NO fighting.

Cos my dear. Do not fret! On a positive not by this time in about 5 days you will surely have your babybeeee! please to try - it worked for me and if the sechs, pineapple, phal and long walks haven't got Artie on the move then maybe this will. Worth a go non? Get the oil and rub a bit into your tum tum. It is a better option to drinking castor oil non? Personally I would avoid induction at all costs. You could simply ask for close monitoring and go in daily if it comes to it but here's hoping it won't. On another positive note Artie will be in the next school year!

Welcome to everyone else new, tis indeed nice to see the Deli so busy - you are all welcome to enjoy the male offering I brought back.

Gin sorry to hearing about the issue - that is shit!

For me I have only 21 work days left or 5 working weeks. Nice one!

ChoChoSan · 02/09/2010 09:42

Hope things go well at hospital today SwimmingCossie...

Cosmosis · 02/09/2010 09:42

Muser · 02/09/2010 10:05

MrsFC · 02/09/2010 10:10

Ooh muse - that is really REALLY lovely. I'm off to find a Jo jo store now. I have my 40th birthday party in Nov & need to find something super.

rollerbaby · 02/09/2010 10:27

WELCOME NEWBS!

Welcome back from holiday okie! I iz Envy at your man hands.

Cho cho liking the bet lynch look - plus pint and cigarette maybe?

cossie keep repeating "open up and let my baby out". And apparently visualise big flower blooming. I have been assured that this is all it takes. Good luck chicken.

box and cos what does MWs say about position? That is a bit of baby cheating when you have been on balls and bouncing and everything. Have you done upsidedown on stairs?

I too am now down to 1 pair linen trousers and can only just get into jeans but can't pull the elastic bit up anymore. Oh and tracksuit. And dress. Fucked if I'm buying anymore. I may live in a dressing gown during my maternity leave which is only 4 WEEKS AWAY.

Back to Londres tomorrow with cockles and mussels for you all. Mwah.

rollerbaby · 02/09/2010 10:27

By the way okie not suggesting you have actual manly hands.

PerfectDromedary · 02/09/2010 10:35

GOOD LUCK COSSIE!

Cho & Muse Love, love, love the dresses. Hurrah for nice maternity clothes.

I went to antenatal yoga last night. There were real pregnant ladies there. I am afeared.

FannyPriceless · 02/09/2010 10:42

honey If I had tried doing upsidedown on the stairs at 9 months diffed I would ended up on the hall floor with a cracked head!

Have a lovely lunch cossie.Smile

MrsFC · 02/09/2010 10:49

Ooh drom, I still want to do pregnancy yoga - was it good?

Hello honeybee I think wearing a dressing gown for four weeks is an excellent idea. Do all vital shopping via internet & watch DVD's.

ChoChoSan · 02/09/2010 11:04

Yep, Hunzzz - pint and fag and chips'n'gravy...you can tek the girl out of the north etc...

Muse, you are showing me up with your tres elegante party frock, but I bet the fag burns and lager stains will show up on yours something shocking Smile

ChoChoSan · 02/09/2010 11:06

DromNight I can't find a local pregnancy yoga class that doesn't happen during the working week Angry, but yoga is a key lynchpin of my plan for a pain-free whimsical homebirth...bah!

PerfectDromedary · 02/09/2010 11:13

I have bought yoga DVDs also. But you're roughly in my neck of the woods, aren't you? Have a look at this Maybe one of those will work?

Pregnancy yoga was stretchy and bendy and then we had to visualise labour and the baby's head crowning and I came over a bit funny-like.

OkieCokie · 02/09/2010 11:15

Pregnancy Yoga has really pissed me off as classes near me are either 7.30-9.00 on a Thursday night by which time I am a gibbering wreck and can't be arsed to do anything or Sunday night at 6.00pm by which time I am also frazzled. So I have sacked it off. I just reckon I will take the birth on with no yoga, no hippo birth, and just see what it throws at me - double hard (northern) bastard me - apparently with 2nd births you can just delicately sneeze and baybee falls into your arms so I have booked myself in for one of those.

Backinthebox · 02/09/2010 11:29

Cos baybee is back to back. DD was B2B, but attempted the 'ear first exit' method, which is not going to work whichever way round they are. (She is stubborn and opinionated and quite individual to this day!) This baby has been in good position for months - I have been doing Optimal Foetal Positioning exercises in order to prevent any need to rotate it at a late stage. So it is rather unamusingly ironic that it has decided to spin round right at the last minute.

Anyway - reflex lady has been, and her verdict is this; I am tenser in my upper torso and looser in my pelvis, suggesting body getting ready for birth. Also my digestive system is gearing up for some action. She did some stuff then to help baby figure out a good position, which made him push and press about a bit and made come over all peculiar feeling and I had to be sat up for a bit (normally do it lying down.) She also does Reiki, so she had a little go with that too. She said she might as well have a go at everything! So am feeling all very relaxed now. However, she also said she thinks she will be back to give me one last treatment on Monday morning, and then the baby will come out. Ah well!

Cos good luck with the hospital appointment - the end really is in sight now! You can get clary sage oil in Boots. MW has told me not to rub it on my tummy as I have had CS, but reflexologist sneaked just a little of it into her foot oil today Wink.

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 02/09/2010 13:24

Jealous of the lovely dresses... I am off to two weddings in the next two months and will be wearing a formal dress lent to me by SIL. Actually it is nice and it was certainly expensive, but I don't think I look that great in it ... But then, I find I am really bad at shopping for mat clothes anyway. Haven't fully made my peace with my new shape perhaps...And too stingy to really invest in something that I now only have a couple of months to wear. Anyway, ye will be glam and fab in your glad rags.

Hey drom I also tried out le yoga for the first time last week. I am lucky enough to have a class on Saturday morning, which is pretty civilised compared to the rest of ye. It was great, though the air got a bit farty at times (no it was not me, it was that Massive girl next to me)Wink.I felt like it kind of loosened up my pelvis and lower back, which had been tight and sore. I'll definitely perservere.

Welcome back okie and honey. Missed yah! And hello to mrs FC! Great to have some new deli recruits.

Think I updated here earlier in the week after my midwife's appointment that they were inclined to take my supposed "braxton hicks" feelings a lot more seriously and when I described them (Recurrent, low, under bump feeling of tightness and pressure - especially if walking or needing loo) thought it might actually be a UTI. Well, they just got the results back - completely clear. So, good, I guess, but they suggested I could drop by and have a quick internal check-up to see if it all looks OK inside or whether those feelings are just normal for me or what might be causing them. I've to go tomorrow. Gah. Happy to have the careful attention but wish I wasn't a bit worried about it all.SadDoes it sound like something that other peshes have experienced?

cossie - sending you lots of positive vibes. have been chuckling at the thought of you going back to work and the reaction of your colleagues...Hang in there! I think sweep N°2 will be a charm. BTW - I still have not bought boyfy a b'day present, so if you can think of any new must have gadgetry/gear for the cycling world, let me know!! I got him a bike GPS last year - faffy to set-up but pretty great for long trips.

Boxy - I am really jealous of your alternative therapy minions that come to your house and minister to you. It just sounds so fab. Think you are not first in line for okie's masseur therefore... . Hope they do help to move things a long and will be watching with interest to see if Monday happens...

I must join aries true confessions: no nothing of these Mitfords of which you speak and never eaten Ben and Jerrys. A ben and jerrys mitfords virgin. Ta da.

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 02/09/2010 13:27

I know nothing of the Mitfords.

laurielou · 02/09/2010 14:40

cho & muse lubberly dresses.

coss good luck at the hospital, hope it all goes well.

gin yay for helpful GP & babygin heartbeat.

In Ben & Jerry news I went to the original factory in Vermont once. They gave out free FREE samples of Applie Pie flavour nom nom. They also have a Flavour Graveyard of ones they no-longer produce. That was vay sad. Other than that it was one of the best days of my life Grin.

Now. Some baybee noos if you pliz.

Cosmosis · 02/09/2010 16:02

quick update before I read rest of todays posts;

Had a great appointment. Saw a truly lovely midwife - so much nicer than the doc last week who basically destroyed all my confidence. Any way, midwife agreed that there is absolutely no need to induce at the moment, I am fine, baby is fine - she just said 40 weeks is an average, some women go under, some go over, everyone's different. I have to have daily CTGs from Saturday onwards, but am totally happy with that, at least it will reassure me that the baby is still happy in there and just waiting. I can request a sweep or an induction at any appointment, it's totally up to me.

She did another sweep - cervix more open than last time, but still not great so not expecting it to do anything - she did say that it was still unfavourable for induction, which again gave me reassurance I am doing the right thing - I'm just not quite ready to have this baby yet.

I feel like a different person, I really do. All of this week's tears and stress and emotion have been down to that bloody doctor last week!

Cosmosis · 02/09/2010 16:08

swits sorry I forgot about cycling pressies - does he wear a suit to work? i bought TGO these cufflinks and he loves them and everyone admires them.

Otherwise, Park tools always go down well - oh and Sock Guy socks are good stocking filler type presents too.

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 02/09/2010 16:15

Thanks for the thoughts Cossie - the cufflinks are pretty nifty. Some useful thoughts there.

I am delighted to hear about your positive experience with the midwife today. She sounds great! Good to get a bit of back-up on resisting induction for now and trusting your body to go its own pace. It sounds like it is slowly gearing up.
