Right, have read back now and think am up to date! PreggoScorp I am still in u/w bras - got fitted a couple of times and size failed to change (sadly shape is no longer perk, more seal-like) Think as long as you are in a good fit you can keep wearing. As for gym, and anything else really, I'm a great advocate of following one's instincts. I kept walking everywhere but as I never went to the gym anyway, I didn't do that....

Huzzah again!

FannyPriceless · 12/09/2010 17:19

GrinGrin
Just the menkullest menkuller has finally scored a diffment!
scropy I am so happy for you. ('Cos you know I've had a secret crush on you for about a year now.Wink)

My tips: aim to get yourself a booking in appointment with the midwife asap, because everything else follows on from that. If you're in a busy area you may get stuck with a late scan date as happened to me. Tell your GP a slightly wrong LMP date if needed, then 'remember' the correct one once you have an appointment booked.Wink

PerfectDromedary · 12/09/2010 17:20

VAG! How you doin'? Still enjoying mat leave? Still in De Nile?

I still haven't bought new bras, although I'm fairly sure I need to. Too lazy to go and get measured. And I haven't been to the gym since I won. See previous comment re: lazy.

Anyone else more knackered in 2nd trimester than 1st?

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 12/09/2010 18:39

Hey Cam! Am still in De Nile - we spent yesterday putting the cot in the "nursery" and it now looks less like our spare room and more like a room for a baby....and neither of us slept properly last night as a sort of half reality dawned. But I still cannot seem to grasp what will be happening in the next few weeks. A very odd feeling, a bit like Reality Slippage.

Mat leave is nice! Wish I'd left earlier though. Had a.couple of quite busy weeks but this week will be really quiet as my playmates are not around.

Tall ladies - I am of your brethren, being 5'11". TSF (the short fella) is same height as me...if he poofs up his hair (which he does). Size 40 feet though, another u.stable stork!

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 12/09/2010 18:40

Darn phone! Honey fab news on no GD!

rollerbaby · 12/09/2010 19:05

scorps that is the most brilliantest news! Mucho congratulations to you!!!!!! Over the moon for you. Well done luver, now you can menkul over symptoms for the next 9 months! :) Hope you have been celebrating this weekend...

My top tip is just to rest as much as you can right now. Your body is working overtime. Fuck the gym, you have the rest of your life for that shiz. I was so tired at the beginning and cold and shivvery so gin is right, you need your rest more than you need to exert yourself in the gym. Worry about that at 12 weeks when you'll be feeling a bit more like yourself, but fatter. :)

Dead chuffed for you - what happy news.

PS Everyone's bored of me saying it, but Anita maternity u/w bras are the business. Unless you prefer a monoboob as I am currently sporting.

SilverSky · 12/09/2010 19:12

Whoop whoop scorps haz been booted out the Deli!! Huge celebrations! < flashes droopy boobs and tries a sexy wiggle but looks uncannily like one of the rolypolys>

Cramps totally normal. I gusset checked til nearly 25 week. Couldn't help myself. Now I gusset check for pee!!

Flying visit gals - guests imminent and HI has suggested I brush my hair or something.

OkieCokie · 12/09/2010 21:04

Delighted for you Scorps I know it has been a long time a comin'! Now, what is all this talk of the gym? Swimming and walking is about the only thing I would suggest - Muse on the other hand may suggest a 5K run! AND if you thought the 2woofl was a bit menkul I prepare you now for the menkulness of the wait to the 12 week scan! Sorry! Many of us succumbed to an early scan...Of course, it goes without saying don't carry cakes, eat wine laced risotto or run for a bus!

I am very happy for you. You are most welcome here!

Medee · 12/09/2010 21:06

Here, you just go straight to the midwife. I booked the appointment almost as soon as I knew (about 2 days later, as I was having the dildocam appointment and I thought I would see how that went) and she just took my word for it, though took lots of information and some bloods etc. No need for the GP. We don't have nuchal fold scans, they do blood tests at week 16 instead. I'm not sure if this helps any scorps as the other ladies' experience is probably closer to what your local NHS will do.

WRT exercise, I think you can continue doing anything you normally did before, but with some precautions. E.g. I am still attending my tap class.

The first few weeks I had lots of random twinges and flutterings going on.

Medee · 12/09/2010 22:27

Is it me, or is it a bit odd to sell a swimming costume on Ebay? I would never wear a swimming costume worn by someone else.

Scorpette · 12/09/2010 23:14

Mmm, used swimming cossie, there's lovely! When I was little, my friend's mum used to buy all their knickers from jumble sales. Beyond rank.

Thanks so much for all the congrats and support :) A lot of you seem to have name-changed so people are congratsing me and I'm not entirely sure who they are, sorry! Fanny, are you 75 yrs old, by any chance? Wink

Thanks also for my induction into the Deli and thanks for the Top Tips (sadly not Viz Top Tips Wink). Every little thing is appreciated. Will ring Docs tomorrow and tell them. Then my parents are taking me for a meal and shopping and I predict much squealing over tiny bootees and babygros... and me and my Mum will be v excited too Grin

SilverSky · 13/09/2010 08:00

scorps just re-read my post and I meant you had been booted out the Palace !!! It's the exhaustion getting to me.

Can report me and HI are buddies again. Had nice day yesterday together and nice evening. So all is good...... For now. The cement mixer is on standby!

Have not heard from parents so it seems I have proper upset them. C'est la vie.

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 13/09/2010 09:02

scorps!! Welcome aboard! Am over the moon for you. Must have been an amazing moment when you saw that very strong (OMWtwinz?!) line come up on the stick. Did you feel dizzy and nearly fall off the toilet, or was it a more picture perfect moment such as usually depicted in da movies... I'm sure it was a magical weekend anyway. Not sure what advice to give except maybe don't set hopes too high on the GP visit. Mine seemed totally bemused by our discussion and our whole exchange took the form of me suggesting things (eg: taking multi-vits) and her agreeing. The gynae/midwife that you will see in a few weeks is way more helpful. Early tips - I was also dead knackered and gave up the gym fairly fast. I took up swimming though and stuck at that fairly well up to now, so would recommend.

Silver glad you and HI made up. Seems to have been an emotionally draining weekend!

So still in denial vag? I totally understand. I spent yesterday morning with two infants under two months being breastfed by their mothers, yet I am still eerily able to detach in such a way that I don't really directly relate such experiences to the reality that is looming large on the horizon. It's quite a freaky skill - but it keeps me calm Wink.

Muse it sounds amazing! Enjoy every second...

medee tap class also sounds pretty cool. Are you good?

Ante-natal class n°2 tonight. Really looking forward to that!

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 13/09/2010 09:03

And honey, brilliant news about the all clear on the GD! Fantastic stuff.

OkieCokie · 13/09/2010 09:12

Silver I offended the 'rents recently when they started asking what plans I had for Christmas in August. The "C" word should not be mentioned before October IMO and even then it is too early. Don't get me wrong I love Christmas and would definitely be spending it with my parents but why is it that we have to know exactly what we are doing each day from the 20th December to 31st December in the summer? Anyway, I snapped. I have since responded and have said I am staying put and whoever wants to come and stay can.

Scorps I was thinking about you last night and I recall you have ishoos with allergies and intolerances. I am taking a probiotic to try and stave off new baybeee being inflicted. I personally don't have any ishooos but mini Okie has several for some reason. I understand it is not really necessary until the last three months but I have been taking since I found out I was diffed. If you want to know the name of the one I am taking let me know.

Scorpette · 13/09/2010 09:16

I got what you mean, Silver, don't worry Wink Why bhave you upset your folks, you poor thing?

Thanks, ConradtWITTY! Sadly, there was no glamour involved. I had been sweating in the night so was all skanky and I had crazy, greasy madwoman hair and I did the test and laid it on some loo roll on the bathroom floor (I wasn't exactly thinking straight), went off and did random pointlessness for a few mins then went and looked at it and started swearing, crying and running around like a loon! So, probably quite normal then Grin

I do regret doing it on Friday and then ringing TYF at work. I should've waited until Saturday morning so he could be there in person. In my fantasies of winning, that's what I did. But I could not handle the suspense for another day! He says he doesn't mind (he's the least sentimental person ever), so that's all that matters.

Medee, am well impressed by your tap dancing. I used to do it as a kid but gave it up. I once saw a heavily pregnant woman doing a tap routine in a jazzy red sequin leotard and top hat, so that's how I shall picture you henceforth Grin

Gin, if you knew me in RL, you would know that there is less than zero chance of me overdoing it at the gym, or indeed in any situation! I have the exact opposite issue - am a right lazy old caah. Am of course beating myself up cos my heart rate went up to 168 when working out on Thursday, but am usually wheezy and lazy and do a rubbish cardio workout, so will probably be able to continue. But have been so bloody knackered I agree that I'll probably not be up to it for a while.

Here's another question - I am a front sleeper and keep waking up and I'm laid on my tummy: is this dangerous? Keep worrying that it'll affect blood flow to the womble n BOC somehow (I know, I know! Just hit me).

Please to indulge my new-differ mega-posts Blush

Scorpette · 13/09/2010 09:23

Okie, am v pleased you've thought about me so kindly Please do tell me the brand you're taking. I have some generic Higher Nature probiotics that I forgot to take after my lap n dye (oopsy!), so would they work for now or do you have to take a specific sort? Hey, as I write this, I vaguely remember that there is some special type you need if you're allergy-prone - I bet you're taking this! Tell all! :)

rollerbaby · 13/09/2010 09:41

Okie I had also read that probiotics good for babies not getting allergies... also thought good to take so as to avoid thrush etc after the event. FESH experiences sound painful. I'm also thinking of buying some Arnica (not homeopathic version, the actual extract) to start taking ahead of the birth. Apparently super fast forwards all healing so good whichever way he decides to come out.

scorpy I am 33 weeks (and measuring 38) and still manage to lie downwards albeit at a 45 degree angle. I have done all pregnancy so do not worry about this at all. I STILL end up on my back half the night and am not dead yet.

I just had a v v v v Blush moment with one of my directors around the coffee machine, who politely asked me how long I had to go. I answered 2 weeks and 4 days. Oops think time left at work not the right answer. Note to self, must not act so keen to leave... 14 days and counting!!! woo hoo.

FannyPriceless · 13/09/2010 09:43

" Fanny, are you 75 yrs old, by any chance? "

scropes Hahahaaa!

Er, yeah. That'd be me.Blush

Scorpette · 13/09/2010 09:47

Sorry, Fanny, I just knew that if you were who I was thinking, that you'd get that ancient joke.

I know you're really only 63.

Grin
SomethingSuitablyWitty · 13/09/2010 09:49

Scorps in the two days before discovering diffment I did two big cardio sessions, followed by swimming, followed by soaking in a hot tub (followed by big meal out with wine galore). I was frustrated by my own knackeredness and pushed myself quite hard. Made no difference at all to anything! I am also a stomach sleeper and continued to sleep on my stomach until about 12 or 14 weeks. I then found I was increasingly sort of leaning to the side to take the weight off the bump and that eventually morphed into sleeping on my side with one of those big pregnancy pillows. So it's all good! Worry not!

Liking that image of you medee... especially the top hat. Please say it's really so?

OkieCokie · 13/09/2010 09:53

Scorps the ones I am taking are by Viridian and they are called Acidophilus Complex. I don't think they are special preggo ones. I get them from "whole Foods". I also take a preggo multi vit which includes RDA of folic acid on top of this.

I used to take Vinalac which were special preggo ones which were a combined folic acid and multi vits for preggos and probiotic all in one but they have stopped doing them.

Your menkulling is already making me laugh. Left handside sleeping advised for last trimester. Sleep any which way you can while it is still possible!

OkieCokie · 13/09/2010 09:59

Ah yes, Arnica - apparently helps limit the bruising! To be fair I don't plan to get down to have an examination of the undercarriage after the event but I will take anything that'll help!

Scorpette · 13/09/2010 10:00

I always sleep on my left when not on my front, so that's good. I know those Viridian tabs, can buy them near me. Might check out Vinalac. Ta muchly for the heads-up on the allergy sitch.

I fear I will be causing many more menkulism-induced chortles along the way (why break the habits of a lifetime?!) Blush
