Hello all,

I just realised I put the 1000'th message on our last thread (uh oh, I think that's the limit), so in my Blush at not realising I'd reached the limit, thought I'd better start a new thread if anyone finds it.

Just thought I'd share in my excitement at getting nesquik choc pots - I've wanted one for weeks but they are never in stock - bless you ocado Grin. I've had 3 this afternoon Wink. Trojan - you see why I'm worried about looking at the scales!

'Scales' taboo? I've been farking weighed every time I've had an appointment! I've put on 5 kilos! Nearly a bloody stone.

I think I put on about 2 and a half stones in my whole pregnancy last time. I'm terrified that this is gonna be a huuuuuuge baby!

Wanderingsheep · 14/09/2010 15:55

Americanexpat, I would definitely say that it sound like you're feeling movement! Not too early, yay, how lovely Smile.

EauRouge · 14/09/2010 16:22

I haven't been weighed at all, not even at my booking in. I had a rough guess at what I weighed Grin I don't know how much weight I've put on but I do know that all my knickers have mysteriously shrunk in the wash...

americanexpat, yes, that definitely sounds like movement! I think the average for feeling movement for first timers is 18-22 weeks but I could be wrong.

angels1 · 14/09/2010 17:07

Ldies,I've just been prodding about my tummy to feel it's changes and see which bits are hard/soft etc and got very odd tummy sensations which are a bit painful - I assume this is just my tummy not liking the prodding - does anyone else get this?! Btw any tummy button changes? I've noticed my tummy button hole is getting alot smaller already

OP posts:
EauRouge · 14/09/2010 17:18

It's normal to feel a bit achey sometimes but if you get any sharp pains or the pain doesn't go away then I would ring your MW to be on the safe side.

My belly button almost disappeared last time Grin but it never popped out. It still looks pretty much the same to me at the moment though.

angels1 · 14/09/2010 17:36

achey has gone now eaurouge - it was just after the poking it hurt (that'll teach me!).

I've just been reading a thread on mm pregnancy board about people accidently pooing themselves during labour Confused which has thoroughly freaked me out Shock

OP posts:
EauRouge · 14/09/2010 18:20

Trust me, you won't even notice if you do Grin to this day I have no idea whether I did or not. DH doesn't know either. Unless you have a water birth, then they'll have to scoop it out with a net, but you won't care anyway.

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 14/09/2010 19:03

angels, I recommend just getting one of these and putting it in a regular (albeit large-ish) bag. It's cheaper and easier than a changing bag.

I'd never been weighed before with any of the other pregnancies, but the midwife insisted at booking-in this time because she refused to believe that I weighed as much as I said I did (the scales sided with me, though...)

You basically will poo yourself, unless you spend days in labour without eating/keeping anything down. You probably won't notice, though (well, you probably will now that everyone's told you what will happen, because you'll work out what the midwife is doing down there, but you most likely won't be aware otherwise).

smallblackflowers · 14/09/2010 20:10

angels my midwife had to request air freshener spray when I was in labour Blush Blush Blush
DH still finds it hilarious. Needless to say I am mortified still.

Wanderingsheep · 14/09/2010 22:28

I didn't poo during labour but probably only because my system cleared itself out beforehand at home. I ended up with an epidural so wasn't allowed to eat anything which meant that nothing was in my system, otherwise I think everybody does. The MWs are used to it. Nothing phases them! I remember feeling a bit mortified about having to have a catheter though Blush.

Lulabel27 · 14/09/2010 22:30

sbf sorry i'm crying with laughter at the air freshner, I know it probably wasn't funny for you but I can just imagine it'll probably happen to me. DH and I now laughing about the prospect of fishing a poo out with a net from the birthing pool (we're planning a waterbirth) and how DSS would probably LOVE that job!

moonminmama · 14/09/2010 22:46

Right , just a very quick message as I'm shattered because it's been open evening at school sondidnt get home till 9 nut just wanted to share my absolutely bloody brilliant news.....
We're having a girl!!!!!!!!Grin

We are so happy!!!!!! We have 4yo ds (who starts school on Monday!) and now we are having a little girl... Isabelle (izzy) probably shared too much info I but I don't care cos I'm just sooooooo happy Smile healthy perfect little girlSmile

Ok so I'll shut up about that now Smile angels the changing bag is ok. Nothing spectacular. If anything a little on the small side but would be ideal for quick visits to shops etc save lugging anhuge one about.

moonminmama · 14/09/2010 22:51

Oh and wanderingsheep I've put a stone on too. Though am no where near as big as I was last time. I out 4 stone on with ds!

Forgot to say thanks earlier too to lulabel for nice wishes.

Will read through tread properly tomorrow to catch up. I have once again been selfish inky sharing my own news. I hope everyone is feeling ok x
Nigt all. X

Wanderingsheep · 14/09/2010 23:02

Ooh, Moonminmama! Grin congratulations on your little girl!

My DD is called Isabel! (I wished I'd have gone for the belle spelling) I still love the name, it's beautiful!

Wanderingsheep · 14/09/2010 23:05

Grr, can't sleep! I have killer heartburn Angry Need to get some Gaviscon tomorrow!

byronicheroine · 15/09/2010 07:34

Congratulations moonminmama that's lovely. It's such an exciting time. I'm feeling flutters too - I'm fairly sure it's not just wind by now.
I'm drinking gallons of tea but went off coffee completely - as I'm in Greece it's hard to get a good cuppa when out. Last week I was proudly presented with a green tea bag in a cup of hot water with some warm condensed milk on the side. A low point.
By the way, it looks as if miss Penelope Cruz is joining us with a February birth :)

PinkiePoo · 15/09/2010 08:28

Congrats moonminmama its such exciting news, now you can go out and shop all things pink, horaah!!

As for the flutters i thought i felt some in the week, but am only 16+4 so probably a little too early and no longer feeling them.

can someone please give me some reassuring comfort?? I am 16+4 and still no bump, just a spare tyre, which is not hard, is this normal? I feel like a fraud..in fact i am sticking my tummy out more so people think i have a bump!

Heard the hb again last week, but still thinking is it not growing properly?

Also have MAJOR issues with not sleeping on my back. I go to bed hugging my dreamgenie pillow, and wake up on my back....worries me!!

BTW i am THE biggest worrier in the world! Grin!!!

Tarlia · 15/09/2010 08:49

SBF So funny!! Maybe you should take a can in your hospital bag this time with a gift tag on for the MW :P Sorry! I bet you were mortified though, I would have been!

Congrats moonmin Isabelle is a lovely name. Are you going to go pink mad?

W.Sheep Did you get much sleep in the end? You poor thing.

Pinkie I'm a bit worried this morning my bump is twins, I've gone from looking like i ate a few too many pies to huge over night. As for the sleeping, I'm such a wrigglier I wake up all over the place, I'm not sure it can be helped, sorry not sure what to suggest, but you are not alone.

I can't decide what to do about a changing bag :/

angels1 · 15/09/2010 09:29

pinkie I had the same worry about waking up on my back and I ended out stressing myself out and making myself sleep only on my left side which gave my legs painful restless leg and then I couldn't sleep from that - I was getting so tired from this sleep interuptions I mentioned it to my mum and she gave me mums advice of 'stop being silly, just sleep how you feel comfortable'. I now lie on my back with pillows prodding me upright a bit. I think that's OK so long as you're not lying too flat (but someone may come and correct me).

SBF you're not doingmuch to calm my poo worries! I get bad IBS and I'm convinced I'll have lots of the....erm....softer smelly variety. It's really putting me of the potential of a water birth Confused And wind - is anyone going to admit to having wind in the face of their mw in labour?!

moominmama such great news Grin

I'm afraid I have another question to those that might havehad this before - anyone get pains at the top of their stomach sort of between the very top of the bump and bottom of boob? I've got terrible pain there which is either (I think) some odd digestion issue or stretching ligaments but really quite uncomfy - it gets worse when I sit upright and when I slouch it's not so bad. Anyone else?

OP posts:
americanexpat · 15/09/2010 09:35

Pinkie - my bump is not hard at all, it feels a bit firm below my belly button but the rest feels squishy and fatty (I'm 19+5). Some women show a bump earlier than others so try not to worry.

moonminmama - Congrats on the girl! And Isabelle is such a lovely name.

brockleyD · 15/09/2010 09:38

Hi Pink,

Don't worry I am 17.4 weeks and just now beginning to have a mini bump, very mini and I really haven't put any weight on yet, if I have maybe 3 pounds max so I have been worried too but I think its quite normal to be a late bump shower with your first.

Moominmama, congratulations, I am so jealous, can't wait for 20 week scan, 2.5 weeks to go!

Hope you are all well and enjoyed Cherry has a baby the other night.

Wanderingsheep · 15/09/2010 09:49

Hiya!

Didn't sleep too badly in the end. Read MN for a bit and then finally drifted off Smile. Knackered though, been up since 6!

Angels, do you think it could be indigestion? When I was pg with DD I kept feeling like I had pains in my heart, MW prescribed gaviscon and then it got better. I get a pain where it kind of feels like my ribs are digging into my bump (if that makes sense?) and I feel like I need to pull them out. Does that sound similar? It sounds to me like, it's either indigestion or things moving and stretching. All your organs have to move to accommodate your growing uterus and your ribs will be expanding too.

Wanderingsheep · 15/09/2010 09:56

Pinkie, don't worry too much about sleeping on your back. If you were doing any harm you wouldn't feel comfortable on your back so I think as long as it's comfortable, you should be fine. I'm terrible for sleeping on my stomach and find it difficult to sleep any other way. I've been making a real conscious effort not to sleep on my tummy but I always wake that way!

Tarlia, I would get a pram first as some prams come with changing bag included, then if not you can decide.
