Thanks, Ladies - you are all so wonderful and supportive. Amazing how many of you (or your OHs) have been through similar nonsense at work. lilmiss, is your DH happy in his new job?
Kinda feels good knowing it wasn't my imagination, nothing to do with my competency, and this was their long-game. I'll discuss with my union rep, though so far (prior to this written confirmation and request for volunteers), the union reps have all been adamant it will never come to this, and they will fight any plans for VR. Don't really see how they can, and anyway, I really would be happy to go now. Just got to see if they'll offer me a great package. I don't want to be greedy, but I have to protect my rights, and I do think screw 'em for how they treated me, after all my long and good service. And the real stress they put me through, ESPECIALLY at this vulnerable time when I am pregnant. How dare they!
Is there a 'normal' in redundancy packages? I have no clue, I'll look into it, but the few friends I have who've been made redundant seem to get a month's salary for every year they've been there. So that, on top of my maternity pay and I'm going to suggest they pay me for a second round of maternity pay seeing as we'll be trying for no.2 quickly, yes, I think I'd be ok with that. Though I guess I have to also consider pension provision/loss? Ach, my head now hurts!
moonstorm, glad things were ok for you at work today.
nymph, I bought some new trainers (bargain, £15), a size up from usual, and with velcro straps! It helps when I don't fancy the flip-flops (my feet get so grubby, I don't like it!), but yes, for the most part, I am in flip-flops!
Had laser hair removal a few years back, so don't need to worry about shaving my legs - hurrah!
Shieldbug, thanks, still don't think Baby Fab has had hiccups, unless I've been asleep for them! Maybe though, and I just can't tell.
tf, I did 20 lengths today too - and I haven't been in over a week! Only a short pool though (18m) so nothing too strenuous. I do 10 breast stroke, 10 front crawl, then I get some floats and float back and forth for a few lengths (but they don't count as lengths!). Think I deserve a hot chocolate too, now you mention it - to go with my ginger nut biscuits.
moonstorm, lovely idea! :) I am torn between thinking we'll be early: my mum has three children, I was first, five days early, then my brother who was 15 days early then my other brother who was 10 days early, so if that is anything to go by, we deliver early in this family! Think DH was pretty much on time! Which is funny, as I am a bit anal about getting places on time, to the extent I like to be early, whereas DH is very laid-back and happy to be there right on the dot of time! Anyway, I digress! I am due 4th October, DH and I are both born on the 22nds of our months, so 22nd September for this baby would be lovely! 23rd is the full moon, so if that's got anything to do with anything, it could be starting things early for us around 22nd. Though I do really like the idea of landing on 10/10/10, and though I am dated EDD 4th, I actually think they are wrong, as I know for a fact we didn't conceive when that puts us at, it was at least a few days later, so 10th October would be not very late, going by my own idea of dates! Going to put 10/10/10, because it is such a fab date!
So ok, with nymph knowing her date, let's put predictions for dates if we don't know, set dates if we do, and weight predictions for all:
Moonstorm: EDD 14/10/10 - as I am planning for this to be early... My prediction - 21/10/10
AbFab: EDD 04/10/10 - My prediction/hope 10/10/10. Weight: 7lb 7.
Nymph: Weight: 7lb 12
