Seashells and Elsa I think it came down to the fact that we move quite fast over here and the other thread is a little bit more slow paced. Nothing apart from that from what I remember. Doesn't bother me either way either.

Jenimoo So exciting!!!

Tyson Oh my gosh, I hope it all goes ok. Seriously don't let her bully you.

Elsa How is it having DH back?

Baby was very quiet this morning, then had a monster hour of activity. He keeps poking his bum out of the side of my bump and shoving his feet out the other end which isn't actually all that nice. I find myself rubbing his bottom everytime he does though Grin. I feel a bit sore down below and a bit crampy and had lots of (sorry TMI) discharge. The pregnancy books say that tends to happen towards the end though. Ribs are so so sore today though. Oh well, how is everyone else this evening? Anyone up to anything nice?

sophieandbelly · 25/09/2010 18:59

jennimoo bet u go into labour 2nite,if not very soon!!

nymphadora · 25/09/2010 19:18

Lots of cramping here too, stomach is going hard esp when I get up. Difficult walking tonight & keep needing loo. May go to bed early just so I'm nearer!

Saw friend & baby this pm. Dh practically dived across the room when she offered baby for a cuddle to anyone! Baby then threw up on him which he seemed to be quite happy with Grin not sure what my dds made of her as she was a being grumpy or feeding most of the time. Dd1 moved v quickly from the room at nappy time which was funny!

DillyDora · 25/09/2010 19:56

Tyson sorry for dark family stuff, that's really awful.

Good luck Jenimoo!

Hermya don't worry about the other thread, it's nice to ask but it does move slower... I'm happy to stay here for a while as we haven't had any of our babies yet (unless Jenimoo has news for us in the last hour!!)

Had a fun afternoon making spaetzle (sort of like noodles) with a German friend which was great fun and now we have loads for the freezer (and I've eaten loads Blush) DH home from work now so I'll go and hang out with him and feed him spaetzle. Tomorrow will be sewing blackout linings for the curtains and...I really have to bring my mind to bear on the hospital bag - trouble is the hosp is only 10 mins away on the bus so we are waaaaay too laid back about it really

Big hellos to everyone, glad it all worked out with DH's job Nymph

jessebelle · 25/09/2010 20:12

Wow - seems like a lot of people are about to have their babies... Exciting!!! Bit jealous too - I'm getting a bit of tightening around the tummy at times - ie, BH's - but no exciting show or feeling like something's imminent yet. My tummy does go hard as soon as I stand up, though, like you Nymph My last went 10 days over so although I'm really hoping this one will be early I think I'm going to have to sit it out till at least the due date. Ah well!

Was amazing to get a good night's sleep for once (with DD away for the night) - went to bed at 9pm and besides the usual toilet visits I slept well and woke 10.5 hours later (ie, 7.30am) which is a lie in as far as this house is concerned - and yet later this morning I still felt the need for a nap - feeling sooooooo knackered at the moment, like I could just sleep the whole time.

DP is actually coming home in time to eat some dinner with me and having a day off tomorrow (maybe I'll even get him to read the labour chapter from a pregnancy book - or is that asking too much?) - so having a good and relaxing weekend so far. Sorry to hear about your family strife tyson and hope things sort themselves out soon. You just don't need this kind of stress at this time huh.

Hermya321 · 25/09/2010 20:17

Dilly My friend used to live in a city which had the highest incident of people arriving in labour on the bus. It amused me no end to find that one out Grin.

jennimoo · 25/09/2010 20:22

Sorry, no baby here! Some twinges but probably in my imagination!

jennimoo · 25/09/2010 20:49

DH has got all excited though, and has gone to load the dishwasher just in case!

Meanbeansmum · 25/09/2010 21:43

The short version.... My BA!

I had one lot of prostin thursday, by friday 6am still no changes to my cervix, still prosterior and firm. 6.40am (40mins later) I heard a pop and then went my waters. I sorted myself into new pj's and called dh, 20 mins on the monitor, 10 mins in ther early labour room where I could feel bearing down pains minutes after being examined and told I was 3cm dilated, up to delivery ward and 3 pushes later (during which I could feel her moving down into position) she was out! She had her cord tightly around her neck and under her left arm and had to be whisked off untangled and given oxygen. She did breathe spontaneously though. Scary stuff. So Sophia Rose was born on the 24th Sept weighing 8lb 14oz at 8:14am after a 1 hour 34 minute labour and she is perftect!

We had to stay in yesterday as Sophia's temperature dipped and I spent the night doing kangaroo care and her temp rose and stabilised.

We are home now, she is sooo yummy, the children are thrilled with the new addition. I feel suprisingly well!

Freaky moment....mw who delivered her asked when she arrived,....'does she have a nbame', I told her and she said 'noway, I was going to say why don't you name her Sophia'. How freaky is that lol!

omg peeps I'm so in love. I don't want to bath her to preserve her newborn yumminess.

Good luck to all those waiting, I can't wait to read your announcements! xx

Tyson86 · 25/09/2010 21:43

Hi all, just wanted to let you all know im fine and it went ok with my sister, think we are remaining in contact but will see how it goes. She apologised for how she has treated me in the last 9 months and we shouted things through for abit till we calmed down enough to sit down and talk properly. Thanks for the posts :)

Tyson86 · 25/09/2010 21:44

Meanbeansmum sorry x posted, massive congrats x

jennimoo · 25/09/2010 21:47

Tyson Glad you're ok and that things are sorted.

dontstopmenow · 25/09/2010 21:56

Yay!! Many many congratulations Meanbeansmum and family. Our first baby. Well done, amazing story. Hope my labour goes as well as yours. Glad she is well. :)

FingonTheValiant · 25/09/2010 22:42

Meanbeans Congratulations!!! That's fantastic news. Welcome to Sophia Rose, so jealous that you're getting lovely newborn snuggles :o And brilliant that your labour was so quick and easy.

Jennimoo think you might be next, even if it's not tonight. Fingers crossed for you :)

Tyson really glad to hear that things worked out well with your sister, I was worried for you before you went.

Hope everyone manages to get a good night's sleep.

AbFabT · 25/09/2010 22:49

Glad re your DH's job situation, nymph, as long as you are both ok and happy. And often these things work out for the best.

Tyson, sorry to hear about your sister being a pain. Glad you made some progress with her that you are happy about. Good luck with how that goes.

Meansbeansmum - or should we call you SophiaRose's mum?! :) Many congratulations! What a speedy labour! Wow! Oh, how exciting! Our first baby! Yippee! xxx

No news from me, no signs of anything. Baby wriggling nicely, so I'm happy. I still don't think I've had Braxton Hicks, and I'm 38+5.

Meansbeans congratulations so pleased for you!! Great to her your story! awww our first baby. So jealous cant wait to meet our baby!! beautiful name too.

Tyson glad to hear it went ok, was a bit worried!

Elsa123 · 26/09/2010 05:54

Morning all, I can't sleep.

Many congratulations Meanbeansmum! Sophia Rose is a beautiful name. Your labour sounds fab and I'm so pleased that Sophia is well.

Tyson phew! I was worried about you. I'm glad you have got a step further with your sister.

AbfabT My friend told me the other day that she experienced no BH's with her first, so I reckon its a random thing.

Hermya yes thank you, its lovely to have him home. I'm travelling down to Bucks tomorrow and , all things being well, apart from next weekend, I intend to stay down there so I can be close to the hospital we're meant to be going to. It will mean that I'll see my DH most nights apart from when he's gallivanting about the country to meetings. Fortunately he's already telling people that over Oct he's happy if meetings are in London, but he's not keen to travel too far.

My NCT class has produced its first baby! The lady was our only homebirther and she had a sudden and early breech presentation and labour and EMCS! Healthy baby girl.

sophieandbelly · 26/09/2010 07:39

Congrats meanbeans Grin & welcome Sophia!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 26/09/2010 07:56

Wow, what a lovely story Meanbeansmum, hundreds of congratulations. I know what you mean about the bath thing. So pleased for you.

Tyson, yikes, sounds awful. Have you looked for advice on the relationships board? and There's some great stuff on there. I hope you're okay.

Off for my scan soon but also waiting for doc to call. Had terrible runs last night with pain so am thinking of doing a 24 hour fast - just not sure if that's a good idea at 35 weeks? But everything just seems to upset my stomach. Any suggestions?

jennimoo · 26/09/2010 08:16

Morning all. Rubbish nights sleep, kept dreaming about having babies!

I seem to be getting some crampy feelings low sown in bump, but can't decide if I get those normally or not. In either imagining it or in denial I reckon. Will try to start timing I think, just in case its the latter!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 26/09/2010 09:13

Oh wow! Congratulations meanbeansmum really pleased for you all. Gorgeous name (both are on our short list :) ) enjoy those snuggles!

Tyson- glad it went better than feared.

Meanbeansmum · 26/09/2010 09:40
