Morning all from grumpy lack of sleep heachachy land.

Floozie runs is better than vom! I hope you start to feel better today. Have a few glasses of cooled but still warm boiled water and some yoghurts. Others swear by drinking the water rice was boiled in.

Tiredfeet sorry to hear your baby is B2B, I know what you mean about not slouching about, its hard not to! Perhaps when you're alone you could transit round your house on all fours?!

Hermya Welcome to maternity leave..enjoy x

Sorry to hear others were up too. Nymph the part baked rolls sound nice Smile.

SamB123 I hope you feel better today and less teary.

Jennimoo don't be too depressed about the lack of engagement, I've read that some women's baby's don't engage until they're actually in labour. Can you blame the baby?! It must be far more comfy not to jam your head in a pelvis Grin.

I haven't seen the mw for 3 weeks and am due to see her on Tuesday, so I'll find out what, if any, downward progress my own LO has or hasn't taken.

Off to meet my sister today for shopping. Feel too tired after last night's awake time!

37 weeks today

floozietoozie · 23/09/2010 08:37

Elsa Grin at pelvis comment, though I'm sure there are lots of men who would disagree with you [lowering the tone emoticon]! Happy shopping. You're right, runs are the much better option.

Hermya321 · 23/09/2010 09:04

Tiredfeet Have you had a look at the Spinning Babies website, that has a lot of great stuff on it about encouraging LO's to move before birth.

Floozie Wink LOL!!

Sorry that everyone seems to have had a bit of a night of it last night. Gosh, this pregnancy lark isn't the best is it.

I've managed to snag an appointment at the Docs, hopefully they'll be a bit more helpful.

Hope you're all well today!!

nymphadora · 23/09/2010 09:09

jennimoo this is my first one that did engage even partly,

hermya good luck!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 23/09/2010 09:45

Trying to get motivated for toddler group this morning, but really want to sit on the sofa and feel sorry for myself :(

I'm not doing well with thus waiting lark- memories of my last birth etc are being let in!

Full moon tonight though, I wonder if anyone on this thread will have a full moon baby- any news Meanbeansmum?

morning all!
I didn't sleep well last night either- had to go and get emergency bowl of frosties about the same sort of time as lots of you were discussing toast. I did get the toast vibe, but couldn't be bothered to make any. Stupidly I also drank a lovely cool glass of water from the fridge then sproglet was bouncing around for ages afterwards. D'oh.

jennimoo how exciting! I've heard that lots of babies don't engage until just before birth so as others have said, don't worry.

hermya good luck at the drs- hope they are a bit more useful. I had to take co-codamol when my fibroid pain was unbearable and that was at about 10 weeks ish so I'm sure it's fine.

Floozie sorry to hear you are suffering. Not fun. I've been feeling sick too, but fortunately only minor other tummy bug symptoms so far. Hope you feel better soon.

SamB hope you are feeling better today.

Had yet another scan yesterday and all was well on the baby and fibroid front. No signs of the baby engaging; in fact it took the opportunity to land a couple of hefty kicks to the ribs during the scan. The consultant said it was the size of a 37 week baby so hope it doesn't get too massive before birth!

sam12 · 23/09/2010 11:02

I am so glad that I read this- it has made me feel a million times better.
I too have been feeling sick with the runs, feeling very emotional and was up at what seems to be the same time as everyone else last night. Sometimes it just helps to know you aren't alone Smile

The chances of us getting in the house before the baby appears are looking very slim at the moment which led to massive argument and lots of tears and me threatening to go and live in a caravan on my own yesterday evening. All in the middle of a shopping centre Blush On a brighter note we were able to pick up the baby's car seat from Mothercare which we have been waiting for for 12 weeks!!

Tired good luck with moving the baby
Hermya one more day to go and I can join you one maternity leave
Seashells even the mw said about the full moon thing so there must be something in it- there might be a rush of babies tonight!!
Shield Glad all went well with your scan.

Hello everyone,

Usually I'm just a lurker but all your stories of being awake and hungry last night made me want to say: me too! I got up at 4am to have a sandwich or two. Glad I'm not the only one!

Hope everyone can rest a bit and catch up on the lost sleep.

I'm 37+1 today.

nymphadora · 23/09/2010 12:56

sam12 Well reminded, I need to check on my car seat next week if it hasn't arrived.

36+1 today

AbFabT · 23/09/2010 13:12

Hi, Lizkin. Less lurking, more posting please! Good to have you here!

Sorry most of you struggled to sleep. I was the opposite, and only got out of bed today at 11.30 as I thought I'd better not waste any more time sleeping!

Hermya, I totally think something like reflexology/massage will be good for you - absolutely can't hurt, anyway.

Good work on the little show, jennimoo. I am the same date as you but have had no signs. I even think my bump is shrinking!
I am super impressed you are sewing your own curtains!

This link might be useful for those of you who feel their baby isn't in the right position yet:

Got no real update from myself. Pool has arrived, so am ready to roll now!

Hope you all feel better and sleep better soon.

So do we think meanbeans has a baby yet?

ANd who were the others ? [braindead]

Been awake since one but dh had to go to a meeting about 1 1/2 hour away so I have been too for a sleep in the car Blush

RooBear · 23/09/2010 13:47

oh that would be lovely nymph think the others were dontstopme and looby

sam12 · 23/09/2010 13:59

Afab that is wierd I felt like my bump had shrunk as well this morning. My explanation was that I am just getting used to it.

nymphadora · 23/09/2010 14:06

Thanks roo

Hermya321 · 23/09/2010 14:13

Oh my gosh, I went to the Doctors this morning and well the guy must have been a locum because I've never met this particular Doc before. It all went well by the way, he gave some co-codemol and was very sympathetic. But, he was Dr McDreamy Blush in the flesh. I had one naughty hormone that was gushing in my ear throughout the whole appointment pointing out his various positive attributes, and another one cursing my stupidity that I didn't put on any mascara before I went to the Doctors.

I swear if I was a little less pregnant and a lot less married, I would have been asking if there was a Mrs McDreamy and if not was the position available. Blush

I seriously should have hung around outside the local med school in uni faking fainting fits and stuff.

Sam One more day to go, yay!!

lizkin Hello there!!

Seashells Did you manage the trip to Toddler group?

Abfab Has your baby engaged? That might explain it.

Oh and 35+3.

tiredfeet · 23/09/2010 15:13

thanks Abfab that article is so helpful! I knew bits of the stuff but it goes into a lot more detail. All the tips on swimming are great, I thought swimming breast stroke might help but its more motivating to go after seeing it recommended.

Hermya glad he was sympathetic, and dreamy Grin a vast improvement on your last appointment!

AbFabT · 23/09/2010 15:44

sam12, glad it's not just me. Maybe it's just as Hermya suggests, that our babies have engaged; m/w did say on Monday we were 3/5 engaged, but I think she said that two weeks ago too.

No worries, tf! I went out swimming when I read that bit too! :)

Glad you got what you wanted from the doc, Hermya (and then some! Wink Did have to chuckle at 'hormone in my ear'!)

38+3.

Nymph Fitflops are the worst thing for your SPD!!! Sorry, Lovely, but they make your pelvis work too hard, ordinary flip flops also out, should be trainers really... I know that's not always easy.

Lol at Hermya's dr experience. I went to get support stockings for my immense elephant ankles and feet, cute dr but given the circumstances I don't think I would have got far. More acupuncture tmrw but with a lady this time.

Sorry to all of those with pain/bad nights. Right humdinger last night after supper at a Greek restaurant which might explain it....

Wonder who will be first out of our induced mummies!

36 weeks today! O my!

Sorry for lack of major name checking but big hello to all
xx

nymphadora · 23/09/2010 16:36

Cant get real shoes on. Cant reach feet anyway! I had to come back to these after other shoes hurt due to thin soles. Can cope with another 2 weeks now.

Muggles- follow stats list link in first post on thread and add yourself in! What a relief to finish work :)

I got to toddler group, glad I went as I spoke to a couple of really nice new mums. Last term it was all a bit quichey, so it's good to start a Billy no mates quiche !

Still in foul mood, snapped at my high maintenance dad, so couldn't sleep when ds went for his nap, and now my ms affected eye is playing up as a pleasant reminder.

Luckily dh is home early and taken ds off me!

Very Envy of gorgeous doctor! Your poor hormones!

Quick question- if your scan dates and dates by cycle are 5d different which do you go by? The mw are going by scan but I'm wondering if I've not dropped yet because I'm actually more like 38 rather than 38+5?

sam12 · 23/09/2010 18:28

Abfab maybe that is it- a couple of people have mentioned through the day that it looks a bit lower. I was 2/5 engaged when I saw mw but that was over a week ago now.

Muggle isn't it a relief to be finishing work? A boy in my form asked how long I am going to be off for and when I said 39 weeks he looked at me in astonishment and said 'is that how long it takes to push it out?' To be hopes not!! Shock

Feeling less emotional now and after sensible chat with my DH we have decided to move into the house anyway and just 'slum' it. I think he realised I need to be in my own place so that I can feel settled and prepare for the baby. Even if it will mean going without luxuries for a while- like only having one electric socket for the whole house [hmmm]

Hermya321 · 23/09/2010 18:48

Sam That must be a bit of a relief, don't forget you can always get an extention cable for that one lone plug socket. Teenage boys are funny aren't they, I have a lot of respect for secondry school teachers. I really couldn't do it.

Muggle It's funny isn't it, you get pregnant and suddenly everything is off limits. I was eating brie for weeks before someone said, 'oh you shouldn't be eating that'. I'm going to be eating a hell of a lot of brie and pate once this baby makes his appearence.

Elsa123 · 23/09/2010 19:28

Hello all. Good day with my sister. Had a nap for an hour, woke up with one of those day sleep headaches, took the dogs out, took longer than normal as I had to keep stopping due to really sore pains. I've now taken some paracetamol as I'm getting very very sharp lower tummy pains just above my pubic bone. Not what I need right now and its worse when I move around and I haven't had a chance to make my dinner yet Sad. Sorry for the moan but I'm alone and rather miserable.
