Well it's officially official, I am now a lady of leisure and what not.

I think I'm going to have to buy some DVD's in order to make these next few weeks more comfy.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 22/09/2010 16:11

Goodluck meAnbeansmum!

I am now the proud owner of jilly cooper's new novel and Stephen fry's autobiography. Two randy old buggers Grin

I have felt weird all day, hard to put my ringer on it. Slightly light headed, slightly sicky, slightly back achy comes and goes, and "had" to see my friend who is recovering from surgery today.

I am either developing severe paranoia or intuition - Bumperlicious' thread got me wondering as she jokingly did cosmic ordering, and I did say 23rd....

.... I'm making up symptoms aren't i Grin Blush

SamanthaB123 · 22/09/2010 16:16

Hermya I have had a terrible time with a cyst that is positioned near my ribs and the baby's feet - to the extent that I haven't been able to sit on a chair for about six weeks now. There haven't been any drugs that have helped but, my saving grace has been my birthing ball. It is the only thing I ever sit on, including at school. The result is that my baby engaged a couple of weeks ago which has created a little more space. I know it sounds a bit crazy and it might be a coincidence but it has been brilliant. I also found out about optimal positioning and encouraging the baby to engage which I have worked on religiously. You may be doing all this anyone, but thought it might help.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 22/09/2010 16:30

Lol that would be finger, NOT ringer...sodding iPhone!

Hermya, congrats on finishing work!! You will feel sooooo much better being able rest!

nymphadora · 22/09/2010 17:05

hermya Its such a good feeling isn't it!

I've been to the hospital. Baby is still locking in and was getting contractions while I was there but she said it was BH so thats ok!

ILoveGregoryHouse · 22/09/2010 17:39

Gah! Been in hospital this afternoon being monitored. Baby not impressed. Have had colicky pains for a few days and started to get a bit worried as was getting tightenings. However, all is well, I got a nice rest and cup of tea and chat with lovely midwife. Got some mallox and antacids to help with the gripiness. Just need to hold on for 16 more days so I can deliver at that hospital. It'll be fine. baby well down though.

seashells maybe it will be tomorrow. Sorry about your pain Sam. Glad you're okay too nymph.

And good luck meanbeansmum.

Welcome back :) make yourself as comfy as you can ( which isn't that comfy if you are like the majority here!!)

nymphadora · 22/09/2010 20:15

Welcome back muggle

Elsa123 · 22/09/2010 20:24

Welcome back Muggle.

AbFabT I had heard about the nail polish colour, but now I know that they wipe it off if you go into surgery, just like they remove facial make up for the same reason. In any event, I (fingers crossed) have 3 weeks to go by which time the polish will be off anyway Smile.

Phew, what a day! I got back from the manicure, had the carpet people round and rang round like a loony tidying before my sister, mother, father, nephew and niece came over. We then went to an adventure playground (my niece is totally fearless and aged 2), then we had a little picnic, and then my sister came back to mine, I made us supper and then they left at 1930 where upon I took the dogs out for a walk. I really ache now. My lower back isn't the happiest! I'm on the sofa, with Frasier on in the background, feeling too hot.

Welcome back Muggle!!

Nymph I tried ringing the midwife about the co-codemol, I got a whole 'oh no, you really shouldn't be taking that' and then they said something about deep heat but to check with pharmacistHmm. Me and DH took a trip to the pharmacy and they were like, 'no you shouldn't be using it'. So had a cry in front of the pharmacist and came home and had a bath. Am going to go back to the Doctors tomorrow and cry in front of them.

AbFabT · 22/09/2010 21:13

Welcome back, Muggle. Fill us in with what you've been up to over the past few months! :)

Elsa, they can, but then they have to faff about finding remover, and I just heard a story where it took them ages to find it, and they urgently needed to see the nail bed. Sometimes a few minutes are really crucial.

Hermya, what about something alternative like reflexology or acupuncture or massage?

OP posts:
Hermya321 · 22/09/2010 22:04

Abfab I'm going to look into some reflexology and massage round these parts, it can't hurt can it.

Tyson86 · 22/09/2010 22:06

I was prescribed co codamol by gp when i went through this pregnancy for my migraines

floozietoozie · 22/09/2010 22:06

seashells I was absolutely wiped out today. I walked to nursery to collect DS - it's about 10 min walk, then on to the hospital for an appointment about his splints, which is only about five or so minutes further. Once we'd done that, I crawled home - a snail would have beaten me in a race. I wasn't in pain, just exhausted. The second I got in, I handed responsibility over to DP and crashed on the bed, literally where I fell. DP came in after a while and took my sandals off. I got up after an hour, went for a wee then back and under the covers this time for another hour and a bit. Felt so sick when I woke because I was so hungry Grin. I also had some crampy feelings in my back but I think it might have been stretchings from yoga yesterday. Anyway, am definitely going to bed shortly. It was really annoying last night because I know if DS hadn't woken up I would have slept well - I was out for the count when he woke the first time. Let us know if you get more "signs".

Welcome back Muggle. How's things?

Elsa I fancy a pedicure too. A friend who had her second in July said she went for a fab one lasting an hour and got all up the leg massage as part of it. Sounded blissful. My toenails definitely need cutting, and while I can still reach them, I'd rather get someone else to do it while I have the excuse!

Hermya glad you have finished. Lots of rest, and good luck with the doctor tomorrow.

floozietoozie · 22/09/2010 23:32

Just before I went to bed I started feeling really sick, and still feel it. There's a bug going round ds's crèche and his friend innursery is off with gastroenteritis. Please no. I also had homemade stewed elderberry and apple a few hours ago, so hoping that hasn't poisoned me! TMI alert but on loo as I type hoping that will sort it out from the other end. I HATE being sick. It's just reminded that it will happen in labour although that's about the one time in my life it happened easily and didn't bother me. Bleugh.

Elsa123 · 23/09/2010 03:51

I'm up. Don't want to be, but can't sleep. No reason for it. Having toast and honey as my tummy's rumbling. grrr

nymphadora · 23/09/2010 04:12

hermya there is somewhere near me for massage if you don't get anywhere.

I'm up too ( obviously) been awake since about 1am but was in bed by 9. Feel sick , think there's something in the air on this thread.

jennimoo · 23/09/2010 05:37

Im awake feeling sick and have headache too!

Felt really down after doctors appointment on Tuesday, as he said baby wasn't engaged at all anymore. I know it doesn't make a difference but felt like a step backwards so had to have a little cry.

Yesterday felt better and almost finished sewing living room curtains and sat in good positions for LO and bounced on ball. Then discovered what I think was small piece of show! Feels like positive progress towards getting baby out, although I know it doesn't mean she's coming anytime soon!

SamanthaB123 · 23/09/2010 05:42

I'm up now...have also been feeling sick and irrationally emotional. Did nothing but cry yesterday. Also have had bh since 1pm yesterday and still going on now. Feels like period pains in tummy and back. Also increasing pressure in pelvis and bottom. It's all perfectly manageable but definatly distracting and speeds up when I am upright.

Sorry for those who were up half the night, this is a tiresome stage isn't it? Everything is so unknown (unless you are having a section of course). It is all so unpredictable. Elsa's talk of honey and toast has prompted me to go and get some! Hope everyone has a good day, SB x

SamanthaB123 · 23/09/2010 05:46

Crossed posts with Jenimoo - show sounds promising...have some honey on toast, definatly helping here!

nymphadora · 23/09/2010 06:19

The toast promted me too! Though I got distracted by some part baked rolls and am waiting for them.

Came downstairs about 1/2hour ago to find dd2 asleep in the settee. She was v confused at me switching the light on and no idea how she got there. Bit worried sleepwalking has started again especially since she has made it down 2 flights of stairs.

tiredfeet · 23/09/2010 06:56

hello all, feel better after checking this and realising I'm not the only one awake! I have been awake since 5, eventually accepted I wasn't going to get to sleep again. Might have to schedule a nap for later Grin

jennimoo how exciting, at least that must feel like some progress

welcome back muggle glad you found us

my baby is still a bit back to back so midwife has told me I should be leaning forwards as much as possible to encourage baby to budge. My sister in law had a back to back labour and I know she found it very hard, so I do understand why the midwife wants me to do this, but I'm just fed up of not being able to relax properly, and feeling guilty if I cuddle up on the sofa with DH.

sophie - how exciting to have an end date! sorry they scared you a bit at your pre-op but like you say I guess they have to give you all the warnings. I remember feeling like that after my pre-op for a knee operation. Just focus on the baby you will be meeting at the end of it!

hello to everyone else, I've managed to read the thread but not post for a few days, starting to feel so tired and distracted at times now.

floozietoozie · 23/09/2010 07:45

Morning. Sicky feeling has turned into runs. Suppose that will clear it but ewww. We sure were in harmony last night weren't we?
Jennimoo ooh, progress!

Tiredfeet good luck with turning the baby. Ds was back to back and I'd recommend avoiding it if you can. Have you got a birthing ball? Drape yourself
over it if so.
