Then you truly are having a crisis!! Can he get you some onthe way home? Why do hormones kick off at the worse time?!

AbFabT · 21/09/2010 21:07

Elsa, I had not heard BH could be painless, everyone seems to complain about them being painful.

Aw, nymph. You be kind to yourself - sorry you have no 'c' in the house - not even hot chocolate or anything? Ice cream?

dontstop, glad they are watching you closely, and hope things progress smoothly for you.

Socks, I sit down, put one foot on the other knee, and get them on that way.

Wow, cross posted with Loobyloo. Another one getting set.

Elsa and Seashells, my best friend for a while when I was young had a beautiful German pointer who we used to look after when they went on holiday. I absolutely loved that dog, and so did the rest of my family, including my mother who was not a dog person at all.

Dontstop I'm hoping you have a good experience there! Give me confidence. I have to say the walk was probably a bit ill-advised because I did suffer after it, but it was lovely.

Nymph I know you had mentioned no 4 before, and I thought you must be very, very brave considering how much you've suffered this time!

Hermya321 · 21/09/2010 21:41

Nymph Did you manage to get some chocolate in the end, I sent DH out to get me some this evening.

Dontstop I'm 35+1 and I'm already telling my bump that he has to come out at 37 weeks and that if he doesn't I'll be taking his toys away.

Elsa My friend has a Spaniel and he is the maddest thing on the planet.

We went to our last antenatel class and managed to corner speak to one of the girls there and arranged to meet up for a coffee with her in the next couple of weeks.

I've got a Docs appointment tomorrow regarding my ribs and hips and am then going to speak with work about maternity leave. I spoke to the midwife tonight very briefly about my ribs and she said that they can sometimes be quite painful. They've had me in tears today, I feel like they've been broken and bruised. It's not very nice, I'm hoping that the Doc will be able to give me some codine or something as it's just so painful.

Apart from that, we learnt about breastfeeding and got to play with a knitted boob and a gremlin. Grin

Tyson86 · 21/09/2010 21:44

The top of my back really hurts, i am currently sitting in bed with a heated pad on my back.
Also walking to the shops with my mum earlier and had one shooting pain in my vagina, sorry tmi and all that! It really hurt and slowed my walking down, quite scary!
Just been to the pub for a meal which was lovely :)

Nymph Very sorry you have had a lonely feeling evening with none of the c word.

Moonstorm I felt dizzy and sick and the baby wasnt moving as much, all they did was monitor me and give me a blood test which came back fine. Hope you are ok too x

37+4 weeks

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 21/09/2010 21:52

Yay for the knitted boob! That's just, like, so what bf is like Grin

Tyson-sounds like baby bumped your cervix! What joy :) hope your back eases!

nymphadora · 21/09/2010 22:24

hermya are you planning on finishing earlier now then? The Gp gave me co codamol which they said was ok & you can get over the counter.

No choc appeared, he was only home at half 9 so just finished tea & can't send vim out again.

Hermya321 · 21/09/2010 22:32

Nymph Yeah I am, I'm in too much pain to work comfortably at the moment and think it'd just be best to finish now. I'm ok in myself and know it's the right decision for me and LO.

moonstorm · 21/09/2010 23:10

Hi

Just aquick update - sorry i don't have time to respond to everyone.

Had my blood pressure checked and was ok. I've had more cramping and phoned the labour ward, but they aren'tconcerned yet as the cramps aren't stivking to a schedule. They did say that doesn't mean it won't turn into early labour, but at the moment I've not to worry just monitor it.

So, I'm feeling bit over paranoid at the moment, but at the same time glad it just seems to be 'one of those things'.

Going to bed now. Hope we all sleep well tonight!

Was also thinking about how we are getting near the end of this thread! We'll need to start thinking of a new thread name!

floozietoozie · 21/09/2010 23:28

Hermya sorry about your pain. Sounds like you're doing the right thing with work. Rest is more important.

I am having a lot of pressure feeling on my bowel and lower gut and am going to the loo (that sort) a few times a day and night. Does anyone else have this? Bit worried cos I pooed a lot in the weeks leading up to ds's birth! God it's glamorous being pregnant.

34+4

Moonstorm xposts. Hope the cramps die down for you.

SamanthaB123 · 22/09/2010 04:46

Good morning Sad, I can't really name check as on iPhone in bed. Good luck to all those who are imminent though, it's getting terribly exciting here isn't it? I'm awake as per usual for a couple of hours following the toilet trip. I'm desperate to finish work but still have a week left. I'm just too tired and emotional. Came home early yesterday feeling very sad and sorry. Having plenty of bh and feel like it's all 'getting ready' but nothing much else. Hope you are all sleeping soundly, SB x

nymphadora · 22/09/2010 04:51

hermya sounds like the right thing to do. You can get plenty of rest too before baby comes.

Morning SamB I was on my phone but didn't want to disturb dh as he has a v busy long day tomorrow

floozie Sounds similar to have I have been and sorry but I'm getting twitchy about it. Am going to ask MW this afternoon.

36 weeks today. 15 days to go.

floozietoozie · 22/09/2010 08:00

Thanks nymph. Hmm, maybe I should try and see mw today just to have a once over.

Today's the day for meansbeans isn't it? Good luck!

Gosh, I felt so much less achey last night after doing yoga class. Spd was unnoticeable in the night, my back felt fine - result. Just wish I'd managed to get to this class earlier.

floozietoozie · 22/09/2010 08:06

Oh and from date of LMP I'm eight calendar months pg today, or 34+5. One month and a week to go.

Hermya321 · 22/09/2010 09:04

My Doctor is about as useful as a chocolate bloody fireguard!!

Do you know what he said, he said to carry on with paracetamol and to use a hot water bottle. The whole reason I went to see his pitiful ugly self was because those things weren't working, arrggghhhhh Angry.

He kept mentioning stuff about thermaldahide and stuff about opiates and how they can be in the babys system. If I'd wanted them, I would have gone to see that weird looking fella who hangs around the back of the bins in the sodding park!

I'd like to see how he feels with a person playing on his ribs, feeling like he'd been kicked in the unmentionables and having to get up several times in the night to swig Gaviscon like some addict. What a complete and total idiot!

Elsa123 · 22/09/2010 09:11

Ooh Hermya you really are having a pants time aren't you? He sounds like a tt. Did you tell him paracetamol and a hot water bottle does naff all? Nymph is right, you should be able to have cocodamol. Could you call back and ask to see another doctor as a matter of urgency?

nymphadora · 22/09/2010 09:37

I HAVE CHOCOLATE!!!!!!

Managed to get parked outside Tesco this am and waddled around all the blocked aisles to get my crunchies!

hermya Check with MW and get some over the counter.

36 weeks

nymphadora · 22/09/2010 09:38

Ooh and GOOD LUCK Meanbeans

Hermya321 · 22/09/2010 09:51

Nymph I'll do that then.

Meansbean Good luck today, first baby of the thread!!! Oooooo how exciting.

Are people going to be sharing piccys of their LO's at all? Seems a shame that we've come all this way together and then not be able to see what everyones LO looks like.

Elsa123 · 22/09/2010 12:16

Good luck Meanbeans!

Just got back from a manicure and pedicure. It was nice having someone else doing my feet! My nails look ok, but she wasn't the most gifted painter and I may end up doing my hands again.

Off to clean up now- I have relatives visiting and there are dustballs rivalling the size of my dogs.....

AbFabT · 22/09/2010 14:48

Good luck, Meansbeans! How exciting!

Hermya, I am always up for having a nosey at people's photograohs!

Elsa, I have heard we should leave our fingernails clear as if there are any issues, they are able to tell certain things from the colouration of the skin under your nails - so need to be able to see it.

OP posts:
RooBear · 22/09/2010 15:03

Good luck meansbeans!!! I'll be sharing photos hermya as I'll be so proud Smile

I know how your feeling sam, I have 2 more weeks of work after this one and i'm getting very tired on a afternoon now.

piesey · 22/09/2010 15:34

Good luck meansbeans! How exciting.

I'm afraid I need a moan....they have appointed my maternity cover and they've given it to someone internal who I really can't stand and who I think will be awful! They advertised externally and put shorlisted candidates through three interviews each, but then I found out she had applied as a secondment and she only had one interview! It seems a bit of a set up to me. And to top it all, she passed me in the corridor today and completely blanked me - and I mean she literally turned her head away from me. What a weirdo. I will have to do a handover with her and I'm not really feeling like it now TBH. Grrrrr.

On a happier note - I would love to see people's photos and will try and post some of my own when the time comes!
