ugh. I'm up with horrible heartburn. Its my fault for eating late though, that seems to be the only time it happens.
to make things more fun I think the baby has got a bit confused about how it comes out, and is trying to dig its way out, its clawing away like mad and it really really hurts!

glad all is ok meanbeans and good luck for Wednesday, will be thinking of you x

37+2 (technically, as its after midnight Grin )

Hermya321 · 20/09/2010 05:49

Tired I'm glad I'm not the only one whose been wondering around the house during the night. I've been up since 2:30am, first with heartburn, then with my ribs and then baby decided that like yours he wanted to try and dig himself out. By this point, I'd given up on that thing known as sleep. Sad

Oh well 35 weeks today.

sophieandbelly · 20/09/2010 07:55

Huge moan alert:

I hate carpal tunnel! I can barely move my fingers, my hands feel like a cross between numb and painful, typing takes an age, and I can't put my bra on by myself :( on top of that, one knuckle on my left hand and two on the right are so painful that when I pulled the sheet back during the night (a sheet, for goodness sake) I actually screamed loudly enough to wake dh.

Also, I've started having nightmares and have woken up screaming at least twice, every night for the last 3 or 4 - no idea what I'm dreaming about, but between that, the toilet trips and hip pain waking me I'm sleeping fabulously Angry

Baby is still not engaged, but is apparently trying to push himself out through my previously dislocated him, so almost fell over in the kitchen this morning as he hit a nerve and my leg gave out from under me.

Oh, and I've woken up with a sore throat, head ache and slight temp - probably not surprising.

Gah!!!!!

On a plus side, midwife approved the flat for a home birth on Friday, so I sent dh off for plastic sheets and a bucket yesterday. And then called my Dad to ask him to store some furniture at their house until the baby comes so there is room for the birth pool. Unfortunately, due to a bad habit of storing stuff under furniture the office/nursery now looks like a bomb has gone off in it, so I'll be tidying that up all day.

Dontstop sorry to hear you've been mucked around so much this weekend, that's really rubbish for you!

meanbeans good luck for wednesday!!

tiredfeet and hermya perhaps we should start a 3am club :( sorry to hear you're both suffering as well.

AbFabT sorry to hear about your ceiling, that's rubbish! My mum put a leg through ours (or rather, theirs) once and took out a water pipe as well, which was even worse for those of us in the kitchen below, we got soaked! And then she shouted at us for some reason Hmm In fact, my Dad, brother and grandad have all also put their leg through from the bathroom to the kitchen of my parents home - I'm the only one who hasnt :o That'll be me next time I'm there now I've said that! Hope you get it sorted quickly anyway! Did you DB hoover up all the dust for you at least?

ILGH glad to hear your friend is ok, if shaken. Uninsured drivers make me so angry. I hope something can be done about him. Can they not even bring charges for driving without a license?

FingonTheValiant · 20/09/2010 08:14

Sorry for the length of that!

Forgot to say

37 weeks today!

nymphadora · 20/09/2010 08:29

sophieandbelly this is my 3rd section. Had emergency & elective. Recovery from elective was pretty quick though was my first & didn't have to do much. Second one had loads go wrong & I was ill + section so recovery took a long time. Immgoing in on 7th

meanbeans & dontstopme who will be first then?

35+5

Elsa123 · 20/09/2010 08:47

Gosh, good luck Meanbeans!

I'm with you all on the acid insomnia- I had exactly the same which is why I've only just got up because I finally managed to get something approaching decent sleep at about 0500. Our babies must be on their own kind on in utero chatroom syncronising watches to make us all have the same symptoms at the same time Grin.

Well its onwards and upwards with my lady of leisure life and I'm having my hair done this afternoon and then meeting a friend at 4 who I haven't seen for over a year.

36+4 today and counting...

nymphadora · 20/09/2010 08:54

TMI alert!!!

I forgot to say I also seem to have developed piles in about a 2 hour slot last night Confused and they are huge. How could that happen & me not know. I hadn't even been to the loo? Need miraculus cures now if you know any?

Meanbeansmum · 20/09/2010 08:59

Dontstopme can go first....I want to hide under a rock in denial lol!!!!!

Fingin, homebirth, yay!!!!!! I should have been a homebirthing mama, not meant to be for me though. Jealousy oozes out of my pores lol. It'll be amazing, enjoy it!

ILGH, your poor friend. I hope she is ok now.x

Tired, I wake several tiomes at night, walking around is near on impossible though, I can barely straighten up my back at night, darn SPD. Not long now the end is near. :)

My pelvis and back hurts.....I should take some paracetamol. 2 more sleeps. Thanks for all the good luck wishes, I am nervous, just trying to get myself focused. My dream last night had a rabbit with several new babies and a random cat that came into my home to have her kittens. Little newborns everywhere lol!!!!

nymphadora · 20/09/2010 09:22

I'm fine SPD wise at night. My main issue is standing up now. Can sit in my chair with my feet up but a trip to the kitchen(10ft away) is agony . Lots of pain taking kids to school this am nearly diverted myself to the hospital but realised it was baby rather than contractions Blush am v on edge atm and dh has 4 v long days at work to ocntend with and will be home even later than usual so less help :(

Is it bad if I have lasagne for breakfast? I don't fancy toast

jennimoo · 20/09/2010 09:51

Morning all,

I am so excited about the first thread baby! I wonder who it will be?

Sorry to those of you suffering with heartburn, SPD and piles, the last few weeks aren't great are they, but at least the end's in sight.

My indigestion is getting a bit worse, and I feel sick a lot of the time, especially when a big bit of baby seems to stick in to my stomach / ribs. I guess it's her bum...

I had a fairly busy weekend, and so have worn myself out entirely, and have really uncomfortable hips already today, but am going shopping with friends in a bit and there's no way I'm missing out on my possibly last chance to meet up with them before the LO arrives.

I'm feeling completely fed up, tired, grumpy and lacking in motivation this morning though, definintely no 'nesting' instinct kicking in today, I can't even be bothered to load the dishwasher!

jennimoo · 20/09/2010 09:52

And nymph I think lasagne for breakfast sounds great!

Tyson86 · 20/09/2010 09:55

Woke up this morning with a toddler jumping on my belly, ouch!!!

fingon congrats on the homebirth

nymph ive had pizza for brekkie before, lasagne is not much different

meanbeans Good luck for weds!

Tyson86 · 20/09/2010 10:01

Oh and forgot, 37+3 weeks today Grin

jennimoo · 20/09/2010 10:09

I forgot too 37+6!!

sophieandbelly · 20/09/2010 10:12

oh 37+1 today- 9 days to go

nymphadora · 20/09/2010 10:15

Had holloumi & peppers instead sa the halloumi needs using up!

shieldbug · 20/09/2010 10:16

nymph mmm, lasagne.....

don'tstopme and meanbeans wow, a race to be first (even if it is of the "no, after you" variety! Thinking of you both and hoping everything is straightforward.

So sorry to hear of cts and spd causing so much pain. Hope today happens to be a good day for everyone on that front. Luckily my fibroids have settled for a while and aren't giving me so much pain at the mo. Dilly Shock at the acupuncture!!

Oh, it's so good to wake up and not have to dash out to catch the train. I'm still working on the PhD, just doing it from home now. Even though I'm sleeping well, like so many of us I'm just tired all of the time. Sometimes I can't stop yawning- very embarrassing if you are talking to someone at the time!

shieldbug · 20/09/2010 10:17

Oh yes, 36+2

Hermya321 · 20/09/2010 10:24

Nymph I love hallumi, it's brilliant stuff!!

nymphadora · 20/09/2010 10:31

grilled with peppers, toms &onion mmmmm

& no heartburn yet!

Elsa123 · 20/09/2010 11:11

Gosh at the piles Nymph, I was counting myself as lucky not to have had them yet and was hoping I'd get away with it (my mother is a chronic sufferer) as I've been eating lots of fibre. Perhaps you could up your fibre intake and maybe sit on some ice?! Failing that I have heard that anusol is great. Good luck- glamourous this pregnancy lark isn't it?!

nymphadora · 20/09/2010 11:25

I'm not having any problems toilet wise or anything that would normallly cause them, I eat tonnes of fruit & veg & drink plenty hence the confusion. I've got cream but thats my limit until I can get someone to go to the chemist for me.

Hermya321 · 20/09/2010 11:28

Elsa Oh yes, it really is isn't it. Whenever I see pregnancy magazines with those damn happy models on the front of them clutching their bumps with restrained pride, I always have to wonder what drugs they're on and where can I get some of them.

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 20/09/2010 11:54

Dontstopmenow- I hope they get sorted and stop mucking you around.

Meanbeans, Sophie - I hope things go well for you!

Shieldbug- hope the phd is ok, you are writing up if I remember correctly? Not fun- dh finished his in the first 9mths of ds' life- hard work!!

Fingon- congrats on the homebirth! Don't forget tomget a prescription for pethidine just in case.

Abfab- argh!! Why do these things always happen this close to giving birth! Hope your dh is ok and the ceiling fixed sonn. MEN!

Nymph- piles could mean that LO has dropped? Unfortunately unlikely to go until after birth, but can recommended Anusol and (TMI alert) you can push them back in for temp relief (that joy was recommended by a medic friend)

Fingon-yuck!! I only had carpal tunnel that bad for one night- you have my every sympathy.

I'm fine, getting jobs done, trying distract myself :)
