Told my DH about Don'tstopmeknow Now we're both thinking of her..with my DH now looking sideways at me wondering if the same will happen to me Grin. I've made some progress with the baby and maternity bags and just have some niff naff to get and wash the going home outfit for the baby which is a really lovely white fleecy outfit with special delivery embroidered on it.

AbfabT fingers crossed for you for your homebirth! Have a read of 12 babies on bike and you won't be thinking that your home's too small! Besides, you've been so fit and healthy throughout your pregnancy, that I'm sure you'd be capable of rising out of your pool if required.

Piesey the cough sounds pants, drink plenty to help lubricate things- not convenient I know with the reduced bladder!

Ooh Seashells I'm glad you're feeling better today, things are always worse at night.

Tyson86 · 18/09/2010 15:21

OW OW OW!!! I swear Sophie has just tried to push her whole leg out of my side Shock

Thinking of you Dontstopmenow hoping you are being well cared for x

Elsa Your baby coming home outfit soundslovely!

Seashells Sorry to hear you had a bad night

Xavielli · 18/09/2010 15:22

Oh God. I've just looked at all the nursery equiptment in my bedroom and come to the start realisation that there is going to be a baby....

I think I need to lay down!

Xavielli · 18/09/2010 15:23

*stark... must preview.

AbFabT · 18/09/2010 16:11

Thinking of DTMN! How exciting!

Get better soon, piesey.

moon - an HOUR away from a hospital! Crikey!

SeaShells, glad your hands are better. Hope they stay that way.

Thanks for the continued kind wishes re our new niece. Wish we lived closer, but I don't see us managing to get to Scotland for at least a few weeks after the birth of ours, and that's still up to five weeks away.

And thanks for the best wishes re my hope for a homebirth. What will be will be, I guess, but I do think I'd feel a lot happier being at home. I do have my heart set on it now! Elsa, you are right - that's what I thought re getting myself out of the pool should need be (and years of Body Pump paying off!), but I've never given birth so I don't know just how knackering/knee-weakening etc it could be. And DH is a huge hunk of a man and could easily lift me out by himself, so yeah, hm, let's hope we can still make it happen - and it doesn't come to an ambulance ride to hospital anyway! And yeah, I've travelled a lot and we live in such luxury compared to other countries where they give birth in their homes etc - only issue is my preference for a pool, but I do think we'd manage. I guess the m/w may be thinking about making us as COMFORTABLE as possible, not slightly squished.

Xav, haven't seen you for a while!

Been out since about 11am this am! dh chauffering me places & dropping me at the door but its nice to be out & about.

Went to a stork sale but couldnt deal with the crowds and nothing stood out through them. then we went to see my friend & her new baby. We both had quite a cuddle & dh hasn't really held a tiny before and was v much at home. I think he now plans to do lots of nursing on the settee!
Last we watched my other two playing canoe polo. was v entertaining as most of the kids were doing it off one practice game last week!

Oh & baby wipes clean ANYTHING! We always have them in the house for cleaning but not people!

nymphadora · 18/09/2010 16:49

Oh & I'm 35+3 - 19 days to go!!!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 18/09/2010 17:17

Baby wipes make ds red raw (pampers really bad) but the sainsburys Eco wipes are ok.

DillyDora · 18/09/2010 17:47

lol at nymph and the baby wipes, I knew they could be bad but not how bad...shall be trying them for the mold tho!

Wow, my friend gave me loads of nappies, wraps, liners and so on and a HUGE bag of baby gros, vests, socks and what have you! Can't believe how much, might share the wealth with buddies who are due around the same time as me!

Tyson86 · 18/09/2010 20:58

For those having home births, see if there is any home birth classes available. I have just accidently found one 2 mins from me but dont need it anymore obviously, just thought i'd point out that they exist in case anyone on here is interested :)

Hermya321 · 18/09/2010 21:24

I swear my LO is preparing for a boxing match in there. He keeps punching my badder, then peddling against my side and then to add insult to injury he keeps headbutting my cervix.

ARGHHHHH!!!!!

Dilly Thats brilliant!!!

Nymph It's when I saw the tip about using them to clean a bathroom that I thought 'what?' and decided it wouldn't kill me to use a flannel on LO's bottom.

nymphadora · 19/09/2010 05:07

Baby awake again. Friend said yesterday about her baby sticking to a similar sleep pattern to when she was pg. I'm worried now Wink

ILoveGregoryHouse · 19/09/2010 07:59

Wipes. Great for cleaning the cooker. Have a recipe for reusable wipes solution and will be using that on dd. Saves a fortune too.

sophieandbelly · 19/09/2010 08:20

piesey- i also have 9lots of nephew and neices- 7 (only got 2 sisters!) and my dp has 5! so xmas is very busy and expensive!

tyson86-great name choice Wink haha

nymphadora-wen i was preg with dd, she slept all day it seemed- iam a hairdresser and the hairdryer seemed to make her sleepy, (cos when she arrived if i was drying my hair she would go all dopey and fall asleep!)
so i was thinking the same as u,
o good hope this isnt a sign of things to come, lively at night! but she was an angel only woke once at 3 ish since birth! and was sleeping through the night at 6 weeks!! Smile

iam under no illusion that this one could be totally diff! altho would love another sleeper who wouldnt!

seashells hows ur hands??

sleeping becomming a pain with spd, still 10 more 'sleeps' to go!!

SeaShellsOnTheSeaShore · 19/09/2010 08:31

Morning all!

Better nights sleep thank goodness. Ended up sleeping on my back on a slight slant as as soon as I went on my side things started tingling. Ds woke 4am but needed breadstick milk and a cuddle before he sleep in until 7.30!! We are now running late for football for the first time ever!

Sophie- can't believe you know your date- I hate the waiting game!

I wonder how dontstopmenow is- her silence suggests she is snuggling a baby?!?

ILoveGregoryHouse · 19/09/2010 09:59

Hi All, just back from midwife/doc appointment where I found out doc is on holiday from now until 10 November! WTF! Anyhoo, hoping it'll be a straightforward midwife led delivery anyway and the other two consultants are very good so not too worried. Other than that, I had a drama - was just leaving hospital when my friend's DH comes up to me and said thank God you're here, my friend had been in a car accident and was in the nurse's station being checked out. She was hysterical, bless her. Managed to give her a cuddle and calm her down a bit before I had to go get DS3 from his first day at nursery (I was late..). She's okay - bruised from the airbag and very shaken - she thought she was going to die - the other car rear ended her at 60mph - and the car spun. Now I have to persuade her that going to work tomorrow is not a good idea although I think her DH might put his foot down on that one.

Ouch on all those cervix headbutts and legs poking out of tummies.

Anyway, off for a lie down after all the drama.

DillyDora · 19/09/2010 13:05

Hi Duckies,

OK, all you SPD sufferers - get yourselves some acupuncture if you possibly can. I cannot believe how much better I feel! I won't say I have no pain, not going to fib, but I am so much more mobile - this morning I cut my own toenails! And had a boogie about the room to celebrate! Nights are better, not 100% pain free on getting up for a wee (which for me was always the worst bit) but better, even a bit less stiff at that point. So, altho the acupuncture itself is an odd experience, I would recommend it!

Glad your mate is ok ILGH

Yes, wonder if anything has had her LO!

Have a lovely day all, I've got a wee bit of marking I have to do and then a nap I think... Mum arrives tomorrow so need to clean, good job I can move around again!

nymphadora · 19/09/2010 13:15

Maybe I should dilly I had 2 points yesterday where I couldn't stand :( One last night, one in middle of the night where I fell (luckily onto the bed as I stood my legs didn't take the weight). So starting to use crutches in the house a bit more. putting it down to overdoing it yesterday .

Also had 3 contractions in last hour and getting twitchy to whether they are BH or 'real ones'

Tyson86 · 19/09/2010 13:48

Have started knittng a baby bonnet for Sophie, im so slow at knitting baby will proberly be 18 yrs old when its done though Grin

Nymph Anymore contractions?

nymphadora · 19/09/2010 13:51

No had a bout 25 mins now so looking like they've stopped. baby is quieter than usual too which worried me a bit as they settle down prior to labour don't they.

Hermya321 · 19/09/2010 14:15

I slept a heck of a lot better last night, although was up a few times with the old heartburn.

I was at Church this morning and two of my friends came in with their little two week old babies. They were so so tiny, it seems quite bizare to think that I'll be in a similar position in a few weeks with my own LO.

Nymph What will they do if you go into natural labour? Will they just bump up your section?

nymphadora · 19/09/2010 14:25

Will be an emergency one. Which I'd rather not , especially this early.

DillyDora · 19/09/2010 14:52

Hey Nymph sorry about the contractions - hope it's a false alarm. Also really sorry about the SPD, the bit that annoys me most is that my brain sends a signal to my legs which just does not seem to get there, it's horrible - like my legs won't work. I really do sympathise.

Hi Hermya ugh heartburn...it is eeeeevil! Have you seen the heartburn remedy thread?

nymphadora · 19/09/2010 15:46

I'm just going to be grumpy for a few weeks! promise i'll be nicer when i've got a baby Wink

SamanthaB123 · 19/09/2010 15:54

Nymph Hope that you are ok, I had contractions on Friday at school every three minutes for over half an hour. Anyone I mention it to totally disregards me and talks about braxton hicks. In fact, they were enough to take my breath away - and remind me what labour was all about! I had a moment where it all came back and I just thought 'what have I done, I don't want to do this again!!!' You could try kneeling on the floor and sticking your bottom in the air with your head on your arms on the floor (very dignified I know). Your lungs will get squashed but it can relieve pressure from the baby's head on the cervix. Let us know how you get on...
