Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
crazybutterflylady · 02/09/2010 10:51

Hi purple thanks for the congrats.

It is hard! I thought I would be able to get excited straight away but typical me, i get a 'maybe'. I think I will try to hold out until Monday and do one of the digi tests.

Purplebuns · 02/09/2010 11:03

I think most people do wait until the first scan to get excited, that is very normal.
Are you late for your Period yet? I took an early test and I didn't really relax until I was past my period due date. Then I took another test, this time my pregnancy line came up before the test line and was larger than the test line and the stronger result made me feel a lot better. :)

crazybutterflylady · 02/09/2010 11:06

My cycle is usually always 30 days, except last month I had a 36 day cycle Confused which has buggered everything up!

If I am on 30 day this month, then I am due on on Monday, so the test is very early (I guess that's why it is so faint... or am hoping so).

I wondered about getting one of the CB conception indicator tests... am I too early for those do you think?

I am guessing I too will only relax when I get the stronger line. I have zero patience though!

Purplebuns · 02/09/2010 11:09

I have heard that conception indicators are quite unreliable.
If your last cycle was a blip I would ignore it tbh I had one random long cycle a few months ago and that was it. You have had a postive result, so you are definitely pregnant as you don't get false positives :)

(((hug))) purple that's just what I wanted to hear Grin

LostGeek · 02/09/2010 11:36

Hi crazybutterflylady - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you - its sounding very hopeful for you. I took my early test a week past Monday. I was on a holiday in the highlands. The line was sooo faint, I didn't know whether to believe it or not and i hadn't brought the instructions with me because I've taken so many in the past - how hard can it be. But they've all been negative before. And my line appeared very late on (nearly 10 mins) and so lightly. I had to wait all the way on the train journey home, staring at the stick in my handbag. DH appalled I was carrying 'wee wee' stick around with me. Did a CB test when I got home and 'PREGNANT' appeared right away 1-2 weeks. Then I began to believe it :)

crazybutterflylady · 02/09/2010 11:39

congrats lostgeek - you must be thrilled! I think I might hold out until Monday then... how many DPO were you when you took the faint one? and how many when you did the CB?
Thank you x

StiffyByng · 02/09/2010 14:51

Good luck, crazybutterflylady. I think it's meant to be no such thing as a slightly positive test, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

I really need some reassurance, if you lot wouldn't mind. My cramps continue - I've had them for a week now, and yesterday they were a bit more painful (still not awful) and my back ached too. My boobs were a bit sore but are getting less sore, and haven't grown at all. And other than that, I feel completely normal. I've convinced myself that I've lost the baby and am feeling really miserable about it all. And there could be weeks and weeks more of this if I'm wrong (which MrByng keeps telling me I am) before I'll know anything about whether or not there's really a baby! I know this sounds pathetic, but I'm finding it so distressing.

crazybutterflylady · 02/09/2010 15:38

Byng I totally understand how you're feeling, I think I will be the same. But worrying is bad for any baby, so you have to try to relax. Perhaps book in for an early scan if you think that might help?

PS - just done a CB and it said 'pregnant 1-2'

Grin

xx

tummytickler · 02/09/2010 17:03

Byng, sorry you are feeling so down. Crazy is right, i think we will all feel a little anxious until we reach 12 weeks and have a lovely scan confirming our babies are all fine.
Everyone has been quite crampy too, I think. I know I have.
Try and put your feet up, and maybe go to your gp? If you have had no bleeding I would not worry to much though. Cramping is very normal at this stage.

ariadnestar · 02/09/2010 17:54

Hi Everyone - can I join in? I'm 4+2 weeks, due on the 10th of May. This will be my first child - I had a MC in January at 5 weeks, so that's the first milestone I hope to pass this time - If I make it past Tuesday that'll be a start. I'm afraid to make a GP appointment in case it doesn't 'stick' this time either, but waiting times are so long I suppose I'd better bite the bullet and do it.

Glad to see that we're all having similar symptoms. I've been having mild-ish cramps for a couple of weeks, and my boobs are huge! I burst the zip in a lovely dress yesterday (even though when I wore it last week it was loose!) Shock Boobs are a bit sore and I'm eating for Britain, although I'm starting to feel a bit green around the gills - suppose that's a good sign! [wink[

Anyway, congratulations everyone. So glad that there's this support here when it's too early to tell anyone IRL>

Purplebuns · 02/09/2010 17:59

Byng with my first I was cramping so badly I would have to sit down, it is normal (your womb stretching) and if you haven't bled then you should be fine, it seems that you get more symptoms if you have been pregnant before.

Also with boob growth, some people hardly change at all. Also it is entirely possible that you just haven't noticed changes that have happened, also they don't seem to kick in many of them until 7 weeks at least.:)

Aw Byng everyone is right, try to relax. I had cramps the whole of last week, especially after peeing, but i feel a lot better now. I hope it's the same for you.

crazybutterflylady I have a very irregular cycle but I think I was testing 14-16 days after ovulation. I did both tests the same day.

runningmonkey · 02/09/2010 18:45

Hello all,
Can I join in? BFP on Sun morning :o EDD May 9th. I already have one DD who is 15mo.

A bit tired and crampy and have sore boobs too but am very excited although trying not to be for such early days :)

About to do bedtime for DD so got to dash but look forward to catching up with you all and comparing notes over the next weeks/months :o

Pochard · 02/09/2010 20:45

Welcome crazybutterflylady, ariadnestar and runningmonkey! Do add yourselves to the stats list!

Your latest test sounds pretty positive (in both senses!), crazybutterflylady - since having my DD, my cycle has been all over the place (shortest was 27 days, longest was 37 days, and everything inbetween), and when I tested on day 28 (with a Boots cheapo test) I got a verrrrry faint line, but it was nice and solid 2 days later.

StiffyByng - having no symptoms is completely normal - I basically had no symptoms at all for weeks and weeks with my DD, so it's not necessarily a bad sign at all. Boobs definitely didn't grow until the final trimester. I'd mention the cramps to the GP when you see him / her - although from what others are saying this seems to be normal for a normal pregnancy too.

Just to add to what everyone else has said Byng - it sounds like what you're experiencing is very normal. If it's any comfort, I've been having on-and-off cramps ever since conception and aside from that feel completely symptom-free as well. Can't remember when they kicked in last time, but as Loopy says everyone has their own experience and just because a lot of people get sore boobs, for example, doesn't necessarily mean you have to.

But it is early days yet so try not to worry too much (easy to say, obviously).

Actually keep forgetting I'm pg, so non-existent are my symptoms. Feels very weird as last time was obsessed from the word go and could think of almost nothing else until the magic 12 weeks.

Have one FR left and a few Superdrug tests in the cupboard as well - am v tempted to keep poas every few days just to check all still well down there...

WalkOnBy · 03/09/2010 09:36

Morning everyone,

Can I join too!

I've been lurking on here for a while, scared to say it for fear of something going wrong after I had a v early MC in April :(

I think I am 4+6 and due date is around 5th - 7th May depending on which thing I type my details into!

I've done a few tests over the last week Blush which have been getting stronger but slightly alarmed as did a CB Digital last night which came out as 3+ which would mean 5 weeks + wouldnt it?!

I dont feel any different really, a little queasy if I'm hungry and my boobies are a little heavy but apart from that nothing. Its freaking me out a bit!

Congrats to everyone and looking forward to comparing notes over the next few months (hopefully!) xx

tummytickler · 03/09/2010 10:19

Morning all! welcome to the newbies.
Hope you are all feeling good today. The board is really starting to speed up now isn't it! I may have trouble keeping up soon!

i am starting to feel more and more sickness, nothing major, but it is slowly getting worse. I will be 6 weeks tomorrow!
The tiredness has really set in. Dh has had a couple of days off work, and I have been napping in the afternoon Blush. I just want to have a bit of energy back - can't imagine feeling like this for another 34 weeks!

how are you feeling today, Byng?

crazybutterflylady · 03/09/2010 10:23

Morning all!

I have just been to see the GP :) DH is away all next week and then we go away to Switzerland so we thought we should go and see him before all that.

I can't believe they don't test you! So I will be POAS again next week with you zinnia :)

Everything crossed for us all for the next few months...

MrsChemist · 03/09/2010 10:24

Greetings!
May a I join you ladies?
Had a BFP yesterday, it was really faint, so went out to get a CB digital one. it confirmed it.

I'm having to go off the rather inaccurate conception indicator on the test, with regards to the EDD because I have forgotten when my last period was. I can vaguely guess, but I am a little scatter-brained at the best of times.

So, it looks like my EDD is 4th May.

So far, not many symptoms, just hungrier and more tired. Queasy will no doubt rear it's ugly head soon.

One thing I am worried about it coping with two under two. DS has just turned one, and it took me a long time to adjust to life with a newborn. Even if it's a lie, please can I have some reassurance that it's not too hard going from one to two Grin

Yorkstar · 03/09/2010 13:05

Welcome to all the newcomers :)

Well i feel pretty much terrible today, like iv got a hangover that won't shift. All i want to do is crawl under a duvet and sleep. Morning sickness has truely kicked in. I know it's all a good sign and all but bloody miserable when your at work and nobody knows.

Im also thinking of paying for an early scan if i can persuade dh. I can't bear the wait until 12 weeks and think £100 ish is money well spent on a little reassurance.

MrsChemist i also share your concerns about coping with two, although my ds is older it's still a frightening concept Shock Im sure we'll be fine after a little or alot of adjusting!

tummytickler · 03/09/2010 13:36

Yorkstar - that is is - that is exactly how I feel. I feel like i have the worst hangover ever, and i cannot shake it. I even had a nap!
We are due on the same day :)

I cannot persuade dh for an early scan as we have always been fine before. i have an uneasy sense of 'luck running out', but he says the opposite is true, and four successful pregnancies means 5th is more like to be a success too! Not to sure I agree tbh!

12 weeks seems such a long way away . . .

crazybutterflylady · 03/09/2010 13:48

yorkstar and TT sorry to hear you're both feeling rotten. I have worried about not feeling quesy but I must be too early - and I'll be careful what I wish for if your experiences are anything to go by!

I have just realised I can get an early scan with my health insurance so am going to book for week 8. Very exciting but even 4 weeks seems like a really long time.

Hope you both feel better soon x
