LostGeek · 03/09/2010 14:58

I don't have any sickness even though I'm officially in week 7 (Though by LostGeek calculations more like week 6) bit worried but, yes, I agree with crazybutterflylady that I'll probably regret moaning about not feeling nauseous.

I've just come back from the Doctors. I knew it would be an 'in and out' job but have been left worrying I'm not even pregnant. Have to pee in a jar and bring it in on Monday and don't get their result until WEDNESDAY. And then I got a spiel about what to do if it's negative. Why would it be negative? I've done 4 positive tests. Even did one today just in case I'd dreamt the last 2 weeks. Why is time going sooo slowly?? :)

crazybutterflylady · 03/09/2010 15:02

LG I didn't even get that... just took my word for it. I could be making it up Glee stylee for all he knows!

LostGeek · 03/09/2010 15:05

Heehee - well it certainly felt as though she thought I was mad-phantom-pregnancy lady.

crazybutterflylady · 03/09/2010 15:09

Silly woman. I can't work out GPs. I know they work very hard and are very clever, but a large percentage seem to lack any kind of customer service!

LostGeek · 03/09/2010 15:11

you're not wrong. Luckily I expected little better. But part of me had been hoping to be allowed to make my booking in appt so I can feel like the ball is rolling. Now I have to wait even more endless endless days.

crazybutterflylady · 03/09/2010 15:13

I know! Mine said call to make the appointment in the second week of October but I will ring at the end of the month I think. He was talking about a 12 week scan but in my head I was saying 'you mean 10' Grin

kurlyvoice · 03/09/2010 15:22

Can I join? Smile

1st ever BFP on Wednesday, confirmed by CBdigi yesterday as 3+ weeks but I have no more info than that as have had ridiculous cycles (ie. 2 periods since January, the second lasting 7 weeks).

Have a doctor's appointment on Monday and hope that they will be sympathetic and book me an early scan so that we can date it but I'm guessing it's around the start of May.

Am also a teacher and have been feeling very queasy these past three days, but nothing more tangible (IYSWIM!). I've actually told my HoD so that someone knows here at school, and will be telling my mummy on Sunday because they appear to have a holiday booked right over the start of May. Then will wait until there's a picture to confirm beanage.

Boobs have stopped hurting - that started about 3 weeks ago but I ignored it (!) but am constantly tired, have a sore back and am STARVING. I think my colleagues will start to suspect as I ate a cake, a cookie and a doughnut today (it's INSET and I'd already eaten all my fruit!).

Am also feeling quite bloaty/crampy and have had trouser-button trouble but have a history of IBS so am kind of used to that. Can't really distinguish between new/old tummy sensations as I've had them all!

(and apologises for length of post!)

kurly Hi chick! I have been starving this week too - though not much new there.

I can't wait until I am further along. This is possibly even more frustrating than the 2WW!

xx

MrsChemist · 03/09/2010 16:57

LostGeek, I remember the first time around I thought they would test me, but they just took my word for it. I thought it was a bit odd, but I suppose if someone isn't pregnant, they find out soon enough.

I have to book an appointment for week 8.

When is booking in appointment again? Is that week 12?

Congratulations Kurly!

I just phoned up the midwife and told her I needed to make a booking appointment. No GP necessary!
MrsChemist - here we have to have a booking appointment at around 8 weeks to give the midwife time to book a 12 week scan, then no other appointment until 16 weeks.
I do know know if I will see the midwife more this time, as I am classed as high risk now as this is dc5 and pregnancy no7.

i am dreading having my blood taken whilst I feel like this - I am likely to collapse onto the floor in a heap! And I will have ds with me, so that is not good!

Purplebuns · 03/09/2010 17:35

Wow this thread is moving quickly! Congratulations to all newcomers!
Don't apologise for long posts, I think they are nice as we are all getting to know each other

My doc took my word for it on the test front both times now. My booking appointment is booked for my 8th week so that all seems fairly standard.
I think the Doc has definitely got my due date wrong as I have a shorter cycle and every other calculator has given me 1st May, a couple even the 29th April! (He gave me 3rd May)

Tummytickler, I will try my best to pass out when I have my bloods taken as I am petrified of needles! I always have a prescription of emla to numb my arm first lol

My boobs have grown a teeny amount and I am finding certain smells absolutely revolting, such as Cucumber! And the doritos my boss had at work. Apart from my now standard grumpiness that is it for my symptoms.

I hope everyone is feeling well, and we are all still here (I think) which is great to see! :o

Hello! Sat watching football feeling quite definitely sick waiting for dh to bring home curry Smile so after 5 diff tests (3 faint BFPs) I think I can actually sign myself up. Been lurking a bit as we managed to get aBFP in the first month with both previous DSs and have been feeling so bloated and crampy that I thought I must be pg but also seems v unreal as we have been umming and ahing about a 3rd for about a year and now we've gone and done it!
Lovely to see so many chatty people, the threads for my past 2 were so useful for reassurance and sharing. Dh just arriving so will post more later.

MaggieMac · 03/09/2010 20:47

Hi all,

sorry to hear some are feeling poorly, it's not kick in for me yet thankfully.

Went to doctors today to tell them I was pregnant - bit of a non event really so it was reassuring to read that other's experince was similar.

LostGeek · 04/09/2010 10:22

I'm hoping my booking in appt will be ASAP once they BELIEVE I'm pregnant after Wednesday. I'll be nearly 8 weeks by that time so I hope that's what happens. Even though I'm convinced I'm not actually that far on. I have seriously never known time to pass so slowly since I was a kid waiting for christmas or summer holidays :)

KnitterInTheNW · 04/09/2010 18:14

Hi everyone Smile

I took an early test this morning and got a feint line, so I'm taking that as being a +ve! I'm not actually due AF til Friday and will test again then, but have some symptoms so.... hooray!

I'll be due on May 20th, but it will be earlier as I'm diabetic and that causes all sorts of possible problems. I already have a DS, he's 2 1/2 now.

MrsChemist, I think we met (but didn't really talk) at the manchester meetup at Giraffe.

tummytickler · 04/09/2010 18:14

How is everyone doing today?
I have an insatiable desire for fizzy drinks - anything, I have stopped drinking coke because of the caffeine. I am now on to Lilt!
getting the dizzy feeling too - felt really feint when standing around in the shop!

MrsChemist · 04/09/2010 18:44

Hello Knitter! We did indeed meet at the meetup. You were admiring the turtle my friend had knitted for DS :) Congratulations on your BFP

How is everyone feeling today? Ive been feeling so sick all day, and really tired too! Been over to my sister's who has a 10 day old baby, made me soooo broody, and so so excited!!! But my lovely sister said "your sickness and being tired will get much worse over the next few weeks, before it starts to get better"!! Hmmm thanks for that!!!
Seen doc for the 1st time, and they have faxed my details over to hospital, so waiting now for them to get in touch. ooh so exciting!
Its hard not being able to tell everyone though, does anyone else feel like that?
x

My DH told his best mate, and then said it was ok for him to tell everyone in the pub Hmm

I had planned to only tell close family, but now every bloody person knows. Ho hum. No use crying about it now, I suppose.

MrsColes, you might find that if your sickness is pronounced, that people will guess anyway.
People guessed with me first time, but that's because I quit smoking after saying I wasn't going to about a week before.

zinnia · 04/09/2010 21:29

Loopy I agree, have v mixed feelings about telling/not telling people in the first trimester. All the Ffion Hague stuff this week has made me think about how little we talk about MCs. Although the ensuing press coverage about likelihood of MCing hasn't helped my anxiety levels very much!

Last time told people closest to us pretty much straight away; this time it's just me and DH at the moment but that's mainly because it's quite nice that only the two of us know for now - we're planning to tell our mums when we see them at end of this month/start of next. And then we'll roll the news out gradually (will be 9/10 weeks by then I think?).

Think I'm going to have to tell my boss soonish too as the one person at my level in my team of 4 (incl boss) announced this week that she's due in March. Oops. Poor boss. Lucky she has kids herself and is v sympathetic.

drkgpink · 05/09/2010 06:41

Morning all, just joining. Congrats to all, trying to catch up with the threads.

I am incredibly surprised to be on here. My DS is 3 and we have been inbetween thinking about another and sticking with only child for the last year. Deep down we both wanted one but think were little scared re finances, work etc. Well after one slip up last month here I find myself.

Am now incredibly excited and had been looking for a bit of fate to intervene.

I'm absolutely exhausted, and finding myself fallign asleep on sofa by 9pm, going to need to stop this if i'm to keep at work til 36 weeks (am a GP)

I'm not that familiar with starting threads but last time I was on the may bus (in 2007) we started a new thread each week, makes it a bit easier to sort through.
