Ps re replacement thread. It needs to be easy to be found, so something really straightforward. How about something obvious, eg Due May 2011 part 2?

MummyWilliams · 18/10/2010 21:11

sesame I don't wish to make you more neurotic. I have early scans because I lost at 15 weeks and at 18 weeks. Sorry.

MrsColes · 18/10/2010 21:24

Hey all. RE thread names... i like May 2011 - bring on the 2nd trimester :) .
Cant believe we are over a quarter of the way through already! How quick has that gone?! :o

sesamesmith · 18/10/2010 21:30

Mummywilliams was that NHS or private? Sorry to hear about your awful losses xxx

thell · 18/10/2010 21:51

I'm not a quarter of the way yet!! Only 9+2, and counting down every day Wink
Bring on the second trimester!!

southpacificfish · 18/10/2010 21:52

Mummywilliams What about "MAY we all get there safely!" lol, I don't really mind what it's called so long as I know how to find it ;)

Phew! Pleased not just me with pains.

Sympathy for everyone who has had friend and relatives tell people news before they should have done it is very VERY RUDE! I gave up keeping it secret on Saturday night though when working in the pub and everyone was trying to get me to drink something. But there again, am now 12 weeks so fingers crossed all is well.

hey all, hope your all ok, i feel like this first 12 weeks is dragging prob cos ive been feeling crappy, from my calculations i am 10+5 weeks, but wont be able to tell for sure till a week on friday, will catch up better later when DD has a nap (fingers crossed)

Rollercoasteryears · 19/10/2010 11:29

Yes I like May 2011 - bring on the second trimester! too. Sorry, I did see the plea for names, but I'm so unimaginative...

Yes I get those sharp pains when I sneeze too - I'd forgotten that when I replied to southpacific earlier!

I'm 12 weeks today and feeling definitely perkier for it - if I can just have good scan tomorrow, life is looking up...

I've been in mat clothes for weeks now - they're mostly too big and my trousers keep falling down (not the best look), but I couldn't fit in my normal jeans from about week 7.

cowboy good luck for scan today, looking forward to hearing all is well!

gingerwench · 19/10/2010 13:08

I'm in mat clothes too (well a couple of skirts and a pair of trousers for work with long-line tops). I can wear casual trousers at home with buttons undone and a belly band. And the relief when I dug out my big tummy-hugger knickers from last time!! Glad I'm not the only one getting big quickly.

Anyway today I think i felt movements. Now I know it is v early but I definitely felt them with DS at 13 weeks although I didn't know what they were until they got stronger at 16 weeks. I'm only 10 +1 but I had a distinct fluttery/bubbly sensation that was in a v small specific area and not at all digestive. So excited!

Not as nauseous as I was either but still can sleep for ever. I had a 3 hr nap Sunday afternoon and was still tired at 9pm.

Good luck for those scans. I still have a couple of weeks til my private nuchal one and my NHS dating scan is just a few days later. Unfortunately nuchal translucency isn't on the NHS in my area but as I'm a bit older (37) I'm opting to get as much info as early as poss. It didn't bother me at all 3 years ago but it is a real worry for me now. Oh and the dread of multiples of course! I'm with you all on that although yes I agree if it happens I'll just manage. Somehow Shock

QwertyQueen · 19/10/2010 14:24

hi
I am in South Africa. Had DS in London, so a totally different experience here!

I am soooooo furious... lent a friend my beautiful "birth and beyond" book last year as she was expecting. She really loved it and was greatful but I have just got it back and it STINKS of smoke, and all the edges of all the pages are stained brown!! I know her DH smokes but I never thought he would smoke indoors that is so disgusting and when I read the book I can smell it and feel nauseous!!!!
aaaaaaaaarghhhhh

We have also lent them our gorgeous baby cot, so I hope he has the bloody decency to not smoke near where the baby sleeps if that comes back smelling I am going to cry.

Sorry about the rant. Did I mention I get very irritable?

zinnia · 19/10/2010 14:32

My normal jeans are still fine but put on a pair of work trousers yesterday that haven't worn for a while and had a real struggle doing them up! I'll be getting that Big Box of Maternity Clothes down from the top of the cupboard any day now...

Bit of a tumultuous morning today as had appt with O&G consultant at the hospital, and after customary 1hr 15min wait, he asked the usual questions, gave me my blood test results then whipped out the scanner but "couldn't see any sign of a pregnancy". So it was up to the EPU sharpish where lovely nurse and sonographer looked after me and thank god all well - baby just relaxing in there, heartbeat and everything. Longest 15 mins' wait of my life mind you, was still shaking when eventually got out of hospital an hour later after more blood tests etc. Then when got home discovered lovely sonographer even lovelier than I'd thought as she'd slipped a couple of pics into my notes so have something to make up for the scare!

"Proper" scan on Thurs morning so keeping fx for test results but oh so wonderful to see that little heartbeat [moist-eyed emoticon]

sorry for me me post, hope everyone else doing OK (Shock at so-called friends telling everyone about pgs! that's SO out of order...)

QwertyQueen · 19/10/2010 14:42

Zinnia, what a fright! SO glad all ok

southpacificfish · 19/10/2010 14:54

btw I've been in mat clothes for a week or so too - only jeans but will be tops too soon as I'm getting a little bit bulgy around the middle.

Loopy think I'm one of the lucky few that hasn't had anything to worry about much yet so not going mad waiting for my scan. Will be relieved when I see just one baby though and not two!!! .

Anyone had scans today?

cowboylover · 19/10/2010 16:03

Went to the hospital today and was very confused by the 1st question from the Midwife was "why are you here?"! I thought it was just a normal scan appointment but it turns out due to my liver condition I am going straight under the consultant and they want to see me every 3 weeks!
Was a suprise but reasuring to see that they are taking my condition into account and keeping an extra eye on me.

Had a scan and showing 9 weeks 3 days so a new date of 19th of May. Was amazing to see with a heartbeat and little arms and legs swimming about like crazy! They gave us 3 pictures and I cant wait to see the next one at 12 weeks to see how my baby grape has grown! [hgrin]

gingerwench · 19/10/2010 16:42

Hi quertyqueen is that 'birth and beyond book' by Dr Yehudi someone? if so we have it too and found it so useful first time round. I've dug him out again and keep reminding myself what it is all about.

QwertyQueen · 19/10/2010 17:47

yes, gingerwench that is the one! really good.
Sadly most of the doctors here seem to be pro-caesarian...
Must say though, love your name!

Hi! Ladies

Link to new thread here

mrshedgie · 07/01/2011 09:07

Hi ladies,

My name is Yvonne and I'm from Merseyside.

I'm new to the group, but not to the site. I joined in with the June ladies as I thought I was due very early June, but after the first scan my due date turned out to be the 3oth of May...I haven't posted in a long time because I had a couple of early pregnancy health issues, but I'm here, going strong at 19 weeks 4 days! I had my second scan yesterday and all looks ok but for something questionable in the baby's stomach. I have to have another scan under a consultant to see whether it has gone (it's probably just blood from a bleed I had, which the baby swallowed in utero).

We asked about the gender ( we have two girls and two boys, plus I have two stepdaughters, so six children in the family already)and I sort of wished I hadn't. The sonographer thinks it's probably a girl, but earlier thought it was a boy! lol, so in any case it's not totally accurate when they say it might be a girl because a boy's 'bits' can be tucked up.

Anyway, it's good to be this far in; I've been stocking up on maternity gear in the sales and from Ebay, even though I mostly don't need it still! It's fun though, and I want to have things when I do need them rather than struggling to find things to wear.

Looking forward to chatting with you all.
