I would love to have that lost feeling for a couple of hours purplebuns Grin.
If this pg continues I have a slight preference for a boy, but only because my youngest is ds, so it would be nice, but then the age gap would be quite big, so does not matter really.
What is your preference?

lolaclare · 26/08/2010 10:23

DH is hoping for a boy this time as we already have a DD. I'm secretly hoping for a girl but outwardly supporting his preference for a boy Smile.

I was thinking to myself this morning how good it is that I don't feel sick yet and was taking it as a good sign that maybe this time round I won't be as sick as I was when pregnant with DD. Then I checked through my old emails and realised that I wasn't sick last time till about 6-7 weeks (and then I was sick pretty much daily for 6 weeks) - so that burst my balloon...

Purplebuns · 26/08/2010 10:28

I would have loved to have made some plans if I had known about this gap.. Going to bed is appealing as I am feeling tired but I can't be bothered to take my contact lenses out.

I don't really have a preference, another girl would be nice as I don't need to buy any clothes then, however when I see an older boy with his Mum shopping and things it makes me want a boy...

DH doesn't mind although he has always said he would be very pleased with just girls (I think he likes being henpecked Wink)
I am hoping we can keep the Sex a surprise however not sure I can resist the temptation at the 20week scan all being well!

tummytickler · 26/08/2010 10:31

I used to be so, so ill with dc1, for the whole pregnancy, it was awful. But then with dc2 not a whiff of nausea the whole pregnancy, so there is still hope for you to have a nausea free pregnancy.
At the moment I am desperate for a bit of vomiting, so i feel everything is ok!

Purplebuns · 26/08/2010 10:38

Tummytickler :(

I suppose you better test again tomorrow or something? Would that be an indication?

I was sick from now until 20 weeks daily and throughout the rest of my pregnancy to varying degrees, if I bit into green pepper, I would be throwing up before I even realised what had happened last time, so I am hoping to be not as bad this time.

This will be dc4. I have a 10 year old and 7 year old twins. I miscarried this year so am feeling very nervous. I am hoping to get a scan at about 8 weeks. I can't wait til 12. I'm going to find out the sex and keep it a secret Wink I'm really enjoying the secrecy. We haven't told anyone (apart from mumsnet.)

tummytickler · 26/08/2010 10:43

nancy10 - yep - we will find out the sex and keep in secret too! I can't resist Grin

nancy10 · 26/08/2010 10:44

TummyTickler, a friend of mine bled a bit a 5 weeks, had a scan at 6 weeks and is now 18 weeks. But I know that feeling only too well. I'm dreading seeing blood after miscarrying this year. But when I miscarried I knew 2 women roughly the same no of weeks as me who bled but it was only me who miscarried. Fingers crossed.

Purplebuns · 26/08/2010 10:52

I know a gynae nurse and a midwife and they were talking together about pregnancy losses and it has made me quite nervous!

Do any of you have any exciting plans today?

Does anyone have a pot belly? I am winding myself up it being twins in there Shock

OP posts:
toomuchtimeonline · 26/08/2010 16:08

Tummyticker - fingers crossed it's all ok in there. I bled for a few weeks with ds and he's fine so you can bleed and be ok.

I'm seriously not bothered about sex. Another boy would be good for a friend for ds and a girl would be good as would be different :-)

Purple - I am retaining water for Britain! I'd just lost some weight and bought lots of nice clothes for my Hols and now suspect they won't fit - oh well!

Nancy10 - we're finding our the sex and keeping it a secret too Grin

I've spent today packing boxes as we're moving house soon - it's knackering!!

tummytickler · 26/08/2010 16:15

tmto - lucky you , moving house. Dh has said we can't move until 2012 at least, as i have recently given up work to be a sahm. Obviously we are making cut backs, but i love moving house Grin.
When are you moving?

ZFJ · 26/08/2010 17:20

This is baby no. 1 for me. Don't really mind if it's a boy or girl but I'm pretty sure it will be a boy.

No pot belly yet (at least not one that I didn't already have Blush) do feel a bit bloated at times though and still getting quite a lot of cramping.

toomuchtimeonline · 26/08/2010 18:04

Tt - moving officially in 3 weeks but taking a van load of stuff this weekend as we're moving a few hundred miles and it'll be easier to do in a couple of runs. Have to say I'm not enjoying the moving experience so far - I've lived in this house ten years and it feels like we're gutting it by packing up all our stuff Sad. Any more blood or symptoms or does everything feel ok?

Sri- think the cramping is the womb stretching so try not to worry too much..

Yorkstar · 26/08/2010 19:33

Hope everybody is ok today.

Think iv overdone it today by running around with my ds and two nephews all day. Im feeling quite crampy and just want to sit and rest. Hope all is ok.

Can't remember who was asking now about cramping but I had the same thing last time, lasted until about week 7 i think and have had twinges of the same again. Totally normal anyway but can make you worry too and constantly knicker checking

lolaclaire i remember my morning sickness kicking in between 6-7 weeks too. Not looking forward to it as new term starts then too and dreading teaching and feeling sick.

Nhomi · 26/08/2010 20:27

Just wanted to pop in and say I hope you're all doing ok today.

Feeling really bloated today too - put on my smaller jeans and very quickly decided to go back to my trackie bums seeing as I was not going anywhere!!!
Keeping everything crossed you have had a better day today tummytickler and no more symptons like you had last night.

tummytickler · 26/08/2010 20:43

Yorkstar - oooh, teaching with ms, I do not envy you that. I have real trouble standing for too long when i am pg, makes me faint, so teaching would kill me off! I am sure you wll be fine though, maybe no ms!
Nhomi and tmto - no more bleeding since about 1am. feeling a bit crampy, but i am hoping that is the same crampy that everyone else is feeling! I cannot wait to get to October so we can all have our 12 week scans and relax a bit!
Nhomi feel your pain in the waistline area. Can do up all my clothes, but they are so uncomfy!

Purplebuns · 26/08/2010 21:37

Hi everyone,
it is a relief that we are all having the crampy feelings today, relieved for you Tummytickler, maybe it was a 'fresh' implantation bleed??

I have been pretty good today just a few cravings and irrational grumpiness, nothing DH can't handle :o

I wonder how long until we are in our maternity clobber?

I am fancying this so far Although not sure if it is hormones talking... no one will bat an eyelid me buying stuff early as I am breastfeeding still, so that is lucky!

Hope you are all well :)

OP posts:
toomuchtimeonline · 26/08/2010 23:31

Yeah tummytickler - maybe the bean is burrowing in deeper and that caused the bleed - and now it's safe and snug! Did you ever bleed with the other 4?

I'm bloating lots too. Hope my hol clothes fit for the whole holiday - eek!

Not looking forward to the ms starting. I remember it being 7 weeks too..

toomuchtimeonline · 26/08/2010 23:33

Purple - I'm liking the early shopping :-)

tummytickler · 27/08/2010 07:01

purple - I am really liking that, it's lovely!

I cannot wait to buy some bits as i don't really have any left. I am in my pg bras already. My old bras just felt tight and irritating so i put my giant, non underwired bra on and it feels lovely Grin

I am breastfeeding my youngest too (he was 3 last week), and it is starting to bug me a bit now, it hurts my poor boobs so much! I want to give up anyway as he is 3 and i do not want to tandem feed, but he is rather keen . . . .

How are we all feeling today?
I felt sick (hoorah), so came downstairs and downed a can of coke Blush which has made me feel better.

lolaclare · 27/08/2010 08:50

Hi all,
Well the tiredness has definitely hit my as last night I went to bed at 20:30! Feel very rested today though.
Tried to put some of my jeans on today as they do dress-down Fridays in the office but couldn't get the button to do up - so I'm definitely a bit bloated.
Yesterday I had to undo my belt and button while sitting at my desk as my trousers were so uncomfortable. Then got up to fetch something from the other side of the office and only noticed when I got back that I had been clearly walking around with my trousers wide open. Don't think anyone saw Blush or at least that's what I'm telling myself.
Love the early internet shopping, purplebuns! I have already chosen which travel system I'm getting and which sling and which sleepsuits and babygros. Am trying to hold fire on purchasing any of these for a while though. But maternity clothes can definitely be bought early so I think I'll get on to that today! (can you tell I'm not busy at work?)

Purplebuns · 27/08/2010 09:50

Hi everyone!
I feel great so far, I just feel tired when I have just had a long sleep, which is annoying!

I am glad you all like that top... just which colour? I like the teal and the raspberry...

Tummytickler so pleased to hear about the coke Wink
and that your still feeding, DD is very keen still and I would like to try tandem feeding as I am hoping it will help with any jealousy.

Nice to see others are looking at things early as well, particularly impressed lolaclare at knowing which travel system you want! I am just sticking a buggyboard on my pushchair hopefully.

I hope everyone is ok today and I am really pleased how this thread is going, as it is early days and there is quite a few of us already. :)

How has everybody been today?
I had another very quiet day, with the dc's playing outside with their friends all day - easy peasy! Not great parenting, but they were happy!
However, dc4 fell asleep at 5.30 on the sofa. I put him in bed, so he is bound to wake up at 3am. Dh has met a friend for drink so he wont be around to help!
Hope you have all had a great day!

Nhomi · 28/08/2010 14:28

Hi everyone - how are you all today?
Have had cramps this morning which I know rationally are probably normal but are freaking me out! Thankfully dh has been wonderful and been stroking my tummy which has helped but I am really scared...!
Hope you are all enjoying the weekend. :)

tummytickler · 28/08/2010 21:26

Hi Nhomi - how are you feeling now? Have your cramps settled down a bit? What a lovely dh he sounds!
Sometimes I get a bit crampy, but when I sit on my bum doing nothing they go away Grin.
I am still waiting for some hefty symptoms to kick in. Feeling really tired, but I would not say I felt exhaution. Grr. I want to vomit!
No more bleeding though, so fingers crossed it stays like that.
I wonder where everyone has gone - it is very quiet here the last couple of days!
