Here's the new thread for the September 2010 arrivals - though some babies have already come in July and August, and maybe more to come in August before we're done with this month...

Congratulations everyone who has posted about their new LOs recently. And Well Done Boostar! I'm so glad you posted as I've been really wondering what was happening since we were going in on the same day. I hope you're okay - were you induced on the 15th? It sounds rather traumatic so I hope you are getting as much rest as you can and enjoying your new boy. Great name choice too!

Sorry to hear about all the babies struggling with wind and digestion. So far Finnian has been fine but with DD1 I remember doing 'bicycle legs' with her which really helped her tummy. None of mine have ever been constipated though but I have heard lots of people using orange juice to help.

Good luck jodeylea!

Dixiebell · 30/09/2010 09:15

Morning all. Had a really sleepless night as was woken up at about 2am by a leakage Blush (sorry if TMI!!). Convinced it was my waters going, but did really need to pee as well. And once I'd been to the loo went back to bed, and nothing more seemed to come out, until about 3 hours later same thing happened again when I sat up. Went and peed again. Nothing more since. Now I'm confused! Could it possibly be my waters going, if it didn't continue (was wondering if just hind waters, so not much volume)? I haven't had any bladder problems at all so was just a bit of a surprise. I was totally expecting contractions to start, and feeling a little bit 'heavy' in my lower belly, but otherwise nothing. I don't know whether to call the hospital as I don't want them to say well come in and get it checked out anyway, as it's a 45 min drive, DH is at work, and I am really uncomfortable driving myself. Argh! Guess I ought to chat to the midwife though just in case.

Btw, good luck jodeylea, I think I am going to be the last person to deliver!! Was thinking I'd make it still within September in the middle of the night, but not so sure now...! (Was also thinking of my new habitat furniture due to be delivered tomorrow afternoon, and hoping I'd be back at home by then...:o

40+4

sassy34264 · 30/09/2010 10:05

dixiebell That's exactly what happened to me. Twice i had a tny bit of leakage during the night and thought it was wee (i never had any problems with bladder control either) then in the morning it leaked a lot more, and i didn't have any contractions for a few hours until they kicked in. Hope this is what is happening to you. Good luck. x

Good luck jodylea

So sorry to hear about your childbirth experience boostar. I lost more blood than i was supposed to with DD, but nothing like your experience. Hope you are feeling better soon. x

PickleSarnie · 30/09/2010 10:23

Oh banana, totally feel your pain. Am getting slightly more able to cope with the constant gurning when I put him down but at one point I did actually pull a bit of my hair out due to total frustration. He seems to be improving slightly and have discovered that he doesn't hate his vibrating chair so I can get a few minutes peace then and, I know it's probably really bad for them, but he falls asleep instantly in his car seat so have been putting him in that for an hour or so a day just to get some rest.

I have a bit of a ridiculous question but does everyone elses babies wear "proper" clothes when they are out? All the antenatal girls seem to have their newborns dressed in proper outfits but Fraser is only ever in babygros. Am i a slovenly mum? Will the other newborns be pointing and laughing at mine?!?!

Dixiebell · 30/09/2010 10:39

Thanks sassy. Called the midwife and she said it was likely not to be waters as it didn't continue, but to put on a pad and monitor it. She didn't think I needed to contact the hospital immediately, so happy about that. It'll take DH a couple of hours to get home anyway, so I was really hoping it'd all kick off at night, or at the weekend. I'm still thinking it might be my waters, but we'll see.

In the meantime, I've updated the list again, to include the two new LOs! Do like to keep the paperwork in order...can you tell I'm a civil servant..?!

AliKatt · 30/09/2010 11:36

Good luck JodeyLea!

Congrats to everyone who's posted about their little ones. I do read this thread but have been frantically busy over the last couple of weeks trying to get my house all organised and tidy so haven't posted much.

Anyway, the house is sorted now :) And I'm 5 days overdue. I'm trying to stay positive but I saw the midwife yesterday and felt a bit down after that. Two weeks ago his head was 3/5 engaged but now it seems he's not engaged... annoying!! The midwife is completely booked up next week so they were struggling to find me another appointment to go back and see them!!! Consequently I'm not being seen again until 8th Oct at which point I'll be 40+13... they'll do a S&S that day and have booked me in for induction on 9th October if that doesn't work. Fingers crossed I won't need any of that though!

Good luck to everyone still waiting :)

Cluds · 30/09/2010 12:09

oooh, i know i shouldn't be too excited but had a bloody show this morning and lots of period like pains! Whoopie! Lets get this baby moving!
Good luck Jodylea and Dixie and AliKatt!
41 +3 (or 40+3 if you go by my dates!)

bellabelly · 30/09/2010 12:23

Woo, exciting - fingers crossed for some new arrivals vey soon.

sassy34264 · 30/09/2010 12:37

I'm just back from Jacob and Isobel's 6 week check up. (they will be 7 weeks tomorrow).

I nearly fell off the chair in shock. Jacob was 7lbs 6oz when he was born and he's now 1pound off 11 pounds!!!!!! (10lbs 15oz)
Isobel was 6lbs 10oz and she is now 9lbs and 9oz!!!!

Going to have to pack away nearly all their clothes and bring out the next set. Already?! It's going too fast. :o :o

Good luck to everyone on the brink! :o

sassy34264 · 30/09/2010 12:39

i mean 1 oz off 11lbs. (see that's how much in shock i am)

cinnamongreyhound · 30/09/2010 13:45

I don't think its slovenly PickleSarnie its down to personal prefrence. I tend to go for comfort rather than fashion, they spend their whole time laying down so clothes rub everywhere. Luke is wearing sleepsuits, rompersuits or the outfits which are body suits and the soft trousers with feet in them, plenty of time for cute outfits!

I have mastitis :(
Had it with ds1 and was very ill, this time I felt very shivery last night and have a sore, red, hot patch on the bottom of my right breast. Felt uncomfortable yesterday so put wheaty bag on before each feed and put Luke in rugby hold but it got worse overnight. Been to Dr.'s and got antibiotics so fingers crossed I don't get any worse!

That's great sassy34264! At least they were small for a while, Luke was weighed Monday at 2 weeks and was 9lb 14oz- doesn't seem little to me at all.

Stickhasgrownup · 30/09/2010 13:57

Poor you Cinnamon - I've had that already this time round in both boobs! Its weird as this is DC3 and never suffered before. Best to get on top of it though and get on those antibiotics. The first lot I had didn't work and I had to go back for stronger ones.... probably because I left it a while as tried to sort it myself through massage and warm compresses etc.

Pickle - When I had DC1 I was so excited by all the cute outfits I went a bit mad and brought loads. Now I'm on DC3 she's just in babygrows (4 weeks tomorrow) as I think they are the most suitable when they a little. I do have a couple of outfits in 0-3, but she's currently in up to 1 month. So as Cinimon says, its preference.

I'm off to buy some infacol and gripe water shortly. Poor DD isn't a very happy baby. She seems to be constantly in pain and farts ALOT! Can only really settle her in her carseat as someone above commented. Fingers crossed I find something that works!
I've also ordered a Moby Wrap so that if this continues at least I'll have both hands free!
Congratulations to all those who've had LO's since I last posted Grin.
I'm so happy for you Park that you're baby has finally made an appearence Smile

JodeyLea · 30/09/2010 14:12

Just a quick update! As you know, been getting contractions since 2:30. They started off really regular and just about got down to 5mins between them when suddenly they just stopped for about half an hour! Since then, they have been all over the place - 15 mins, 10 mins, 12 mins, 6 mins, 8 mins etc!!!! I'm so Confused.

I lost my "lovely" mucus plug (yuk) a few hours ago (TMI? Sorry) and am wearing my tens machine to get through the contractions, as when they come, they are pretty strong.

I am assuming this means that I am in pre/early labour due to the irregular patterns. Sooooo frustrating! Could be like this for days Sad x x

bananastew · 30/09/2010 14:46

Thanks for all your replies! Its nice to know I'm not the only one but its not nice to know that others are the same! I have discovered that he likes his upstairs crib better than his downstairs one. I don't like leaving him up there alone but it means I get some peace!

Well, yesterday went from bad to worse! I decided to have an early night. Went to check on ds1 & there he was laying in a bed of sick! Que tummy bug, sleepless night of cleaning, washing & frantically trying to avoid catching it! It was awful he was sat on my bed, covered in sick saying "cucul me mummy!" On the up side DH had to do the night feeds & coped very well so now he has no excuse Grin

JodeyLea & cluds walk walk walk! jump up & down, bounce, get these babies moving!

pickle Oliver is spending more time in baby grows than ds1. They're little for such a short space of time that you have to make the most of it! I know someone who's pregnant with her 1st & has just bought it a leather jacket!

Sassy Wow! you make good milk! Its great to here they're doing so well

beaditAli · 30/09/2010 15:07

Oh.....good luck jodeylea how exciting for you! I bet you've got your LO now!
Congrats to all with their newborns too. Such gorgeous news every time someone updates. Smile
pickle sleep suits all the way for us. I just don't think babies need brands or fashion plastered across their lovely little selves. Like cinnamon said...... plenty time for trends.
Jack is doing great and sleeps pretty much all day bar 7pm-9pm ish and 45 mins or so at around 10am. Not sure if we're lucky or if he's lulling us into a false sense of security. Grin
I'm uploading pics if anyone wants a peek Smile
Fun and sunshine to all the little lovelies and their Mummies x

sassy34264 · 30/09/2010 15:49

beaditali Awh, he's so cute! Love photos. I've got a similiar one with DP and babies. I've tried to put mine on but it keeps crashing. Will keep trying.

I'm definately a sleepsuit person. I'm miles more comfy in my pyjamas myself. I've been bought shoes for Jacob and little imitation ugg boots for Isobel (!!!!)- but refuse to put them on. Mum put them on Jacob the other day (to keep his feet warm she said) but i just couldn't leave them on. They looked terrible and i just can't get past the thought that they are going to crush/mould his/her toes wrong. :O

AliKatt · 30/09/2010 16:04

Cluds obviously you'd be excited!! Fingers crossed it's all getting started for you now :)

Dixie I'm really sorry but I missed your post earlier. Hopefully the fact that you haven't posted again means that it's all happening for you too!

Jodylea Sorry it hasn't quite got fully going yet. I'm sure it won't be long though :) as bananastew says, get walking and bouncing!

sassy great news about the twins' weight gain - you must be really chuffed :)

stick I'm a first timer so I have no personal experience, and I realise you're on DC3 so feel free to ignore! But from what I've read it sounds as if it might be worth seeing a breastfeeding counsellor... if you've got mastitis AND baby is really windy, perhaps she's not latching properly and is taking in too much air..? Just a thought...

cinnamon sorry to hear about your mastitis too... hope it clears up soon.

beaditali sounds like Jack's a dream :) Even if he is lulling you into a false sense of security, I'd make the most if it!!

I've been for a long walk this morning and have also just eaten a whole punnet of grapes (a friend of mine did that and went into labour at 39 weeks so I figured it was worth a try!) I've had a few BH today, which is unusal for me because I've only noticed a handful throughout my whole pregnancy. Hoping that's a good sign, but I'm not letting myself get excited yet...

Apart from that I'm just doing my best to relax. Oh, and talking to bubs and telling him how much we're looking forward to meeting him... soon! Yep, I'm probably nuts but it can't do any harm :)

As for clothes, I'm a complete recycling freak so our poor LO will be wearing nothing but hand-me-downs (and a few things his grannies have bought him!) Fortunately one of DH's cousins has a 2 year old and they've given us loads of very cute things ;)

PickleSarnie · 30/09/2010 16:21

JodeyLea, I lost my plug and started contractions about 3 days before my waters broke so hopefully it's all very close for you!!

banana, a leather jacket?! For a newborn?! At least you can wipe the puke off leather I suppose!

My moby wrap just arrived and I'm in lurrrrrrve!! I left the house today all by myself! All without having to stress over the workings of a stupid pushchair. Now I'm off to make dinner with my newly freed TWO HANDS!!

PickleSarnie · 30/09/2010 16:24

Awwwwwwww beaditali, he's beeeeeeeoooooottiful!

sassy34264 · 30/09/2010 16:32

lol picklesarnie My mum came round last night, and i jumped at the chance to get in the shower, as Jacob had puked on both shoulders and therefore on both sides of my long hair! I think i should perhaps invest in a leather jacket!
I had a sling for dd and loved it. Didn't get one this time cos i reasoned with 2 babies it wouldn't help. Didn't think that one might be awake while the other was sleeping....doh. really wished i'd bought one quite a few times; when i've had to abandon the washing up/cooking/cleaning cos one of them was crying. Oh well.

Look at me posting so much! You'll be sick of me soon. It's another wind free day, cos i've give up dairy. They are sleeping. Hooray......hope i haven't spoken too soon. :o

Dixiebell · 30/09/2010 17:14

Nothing happening for me yet! Haven't posted because I've been napping most of the day. Still feel a bit out of sorts, and have mw tomorrow anyway, for S&S, so we'll see what happens. Might do some bouncing on ball for now...

bananastew · 30/09/2010 17:28

pickle I have a moby! well, an imitation from a shop on ebay. I too am in "lurrrrve"!! I've been into town lots on my own because its meant ds1 can still have the pushchair. sassy its not too late to get one. my friend still uses hers with her 18m ds! I honestly think I would've gone mad these last few days if it wasn't for the sling!

mapletrees · 30/09/2010 18:02

I have a moby too! I bought it before Louis was born, but only tried it out for the first time today (not sure why, just never seemed to find the time to try it Confused). I managed to get lots done, go to the shop and even made myself a proper lunch this morning :)

skyeplusbump · 30/09/2010 21:12

awwhh beadit he's so cute (we have that clouds sleepsuit too!its lovely!)

comixminx · 30/09/2010 21:49

Sleepsuits all the way here too! I figure that unless we're off to a specific thing that it's worth showing off for, sleep suits make best sense.
