Here's the new thread for the September 2010 arrivals - though some babies have already come in July and August, and maybe more to come in August before we're done with this month...

I love this thread! It's so exciting to hear of the babies arriving - congratulations to MammyG, Beaditall and Strictlytory (and any other new September mums I have missed)

I think something must be happening for Park at long last, fingers crossed :)

Cluds · 26/09/2010 15:18

Huge congrats, MammyG BeaditAli PickleSarnie!! Fantastic news!
No sign of Park so am really hoping that she is in labour somewhere, or has already had her little bundle!
Good luck everyone!

I'm struggling a bit! Oliver is an angel at night. goes 4 hours feeds, poos, winds & is back settled in bed within 30 mins. Its the day time! He's a nightmare! He won't settle unless he's being held. Is this normal? Is it just because he's 4 weeks old? Will it pass? I do have a sling which is a god send but just occasionally would like to go to the toilet alone or play with ds1 without having him attached to me!

Congratulations new arrivals.

bellabelly you poor thing. I was catheterised at 15 weeks pregnant. Not an experience I wish to repeat! Hope things get sorted for you.

mellymooks · 26/09/2010 18:02

Hello folks,
can't even begin to catch up as am too sleep deprived but huge congrats to everyone who's little ones have arrived.

My little boy made an appearance at 10.47am on the 22nd after a 10 hour labour.
His name is Flynn Jago and he was 8lb 7and half oz will post more about the birth when I get chance but have to change nappyy again now!! Lots love everyone xxxxxxxxxx

PickleSarnie · 26/09/2010 20:09

bananastew, I'm hoping it's normal. Fraser is so needy. Although he has actually just slept solid in his basket for 4 hours which is very unusual but generally he just grumbles and moans until he's picked up and then he falls asleep instantly. I have a sling on order!

PickleSarnie · 26/09/2010 20:20

ps huge congrats mellymooks!!

mellymooks · 26/09/2010 20:37

Ah right he's asleep on his Auntie and my DD is in bed so I can write some more!

All started off about 12.45am on Wed morn and within in hour and half contractions were 5 mins apart so we headed for the hospital, as i got out of the car my waters broke in the car park!!

Got in the pool for about an hour but it just slowed everything down so I got out again spent the rest of the labour in various positions! Ended up pushing him out whilst kind of squatting/leaning on my partner Flynn's head was looking up and out rather than tucked in so the last few pushes were really really tough and I ended up having a small episiotomy to get him out but then suddenly there he was in my arms screaming at the top of his lungs!!

Am so proud of myself that I did it all naturally with just gas and air, such a different experience from my first labour which ended up being so clinical and scarey with our DD not breathing when she was born etc etc

Spent last few days in the lovely maternity hospital, am very sore and have a lot of bruising which is taking a long time to calm down but apart from that just feel over the moon he is here and our DD is being fab with him.

Congrats to all that have birthed and good luck and good labour vibes to those still waiting. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Debs75 · 26/09/2010 20:52

Mellymooks That sounds lovely, well done.

LadyRabbit · 26/09/2010 20:53

Hi All

Congrats to the newest arrivals on the thread - how exciting!

I know I said I'd post more and that was more than two weeks' ago...! But shortly after I posted last, my little one was emergency transferred to another hospital with a higher level NICU. It was horrendous, the best day of my life closely followed by the worst. Basically, he still hadn't passed meconium two days on. We are home now, but still have to go back to hospital for potentially more tests and follow-ups with the surgical team while we find out what's going on with him. He's absolutely incredible, my total hero. Barely two days old and was being poked and prodded by an ever changing assortment of medics (all of whom were lovely) and wired up etc., but he never screamed his head off and just looked a bit confused by it all. I, on the other hand, feel about 1000 years old now and like I've packed 18 years of parenting into 2 weeks.

On the plus side, I can't even remember my c-section and have had no pain whatsoever, even though I apparently lost more blood than usual. Amazing how your mind chooses what to focus on when you have to get on with much more pressing things.

Hope you're all well, enjoying the sleepless nights if your little ones have already arrived, or getting your sleep while you still can if they have yet to make their appearance....!

cinnamongreyhound · 26/09/2010 21:04

Congratulations mellymooks! I'm glad it was a positive experience.

My first was like that bananastew, Luke is much better and at the moment as long as I wrap him up he stays asleep when I put him down most times.

Hope they find what's wrong with your little man LadyRabbit and sorry to hear you've had a tough time, glad you are home now though.

mapletrees · 26/09/2010 22:30

Wow, the babies are coming at quite a rate :) Congratulations Strictly, MammyG, beaditAli, PickleSarnie and mellymooks. I hope Park will be back on here soon telling us everything went well and she had the labour she was hoping for.. LadyRabblit, what an awful thing to go through. I hope they find out what's up with your LO very soon.

I went to the breastfeeding drop-in on Friday. Was told my latch is ok, so it seems he's just a windy baby (takes after his dad Wink). The midwife recommended trying a few things, including Infacol (for DS) and fennel tea (for me). Only started yesterday afternoon, and Louis does seem to be grunting and writhing a bit less so fingers crossed. Sassy it must be so tough seeing both of your LOs looking/sounding so pained, I hope the Infacol works for them.

Comixminx how is the expressing working for you? Is Aphra feeding any more quickly? My boobs often don't seem to get chance to fill up between feeds..

JodeyLea · 26/09/2010 22:31

Congrats mellymooks. Glad you had a good natural labour. I'm desperately hoping for something similar.

40+2

parkj83 · 27/09/2010 09:01

Congratulations mammy beadit and pickle ! I'm so pleased you've had your babies safely, and the names are lovely Wink

As for me...

1, 2, 3, collective groan

Nope, still nothing yet!

No, I had a stupidly pathetic weekend, where I vegged on the sofa, swore at my terrier lots, drank lots of water and felt very sick. Add in lots of tears and false alarms, and it's been the best weekend so far Hmm. :(

But! I'm feeling a lot more positive this morning, and I have my 2nd round of homeopathic induction in about an hour - lovely lady is coming here, so DH doesn't have to stress about to-ing and fro-ing from work today. I just phone if anything kicks off (fingers, toes, legs, arms and eyes crossed! :o )

I still feel a bit sick although I haven't actually been at all, but just feeling permanently nauseated, plus my appetite is at an all-time low too. I'm also feeling thirsty lots, so drinking lots too. Maybe I was/am dehydrated??

parkj83 · 27/09/2010 09:03

Ooh, I missed one - congratulations melly too :) x

And here's t'other bit I forgot...

41+2 or 40+9 whichever way you like!

Dixiebell · 27/09/2010 09:31

Congrats Melly, I've updated the list for you. My Sunday lunch went without incident (I was thinking how embarrassing it would be if waters were to break in middle of hotel restaurant!). But no signs yet. Planning a relaxing day of catching up with the X Factor and trying out my new sandwich toaster (shopping in Sainsbury's whilst bored is not good for the wallet, new kitchen gadgets beginning to pile up Wink).

We'll be straying into October babies if some of us go much longer! I'm reckoning on Friday for me - as I'm expecting my new furniture to be delivered that day, it's bound to be sod's law that we are unavoidably out of the house!

Cluds · 27/09/2010 09:56

Park i was convinced that your silence on mn over the weekend meant you were in labour! Gutted for you that you aren't. No news here either. Went for lovely walk yesterday with dh, the boys and the dog, but nothing happend. Then stupidly ate too much pasta for dinner and was up being sick in the night, and had the squits too......feel knackered today so am heading on upstairs for a lovely bath. Feeling a bit disheartened that my sweep on friday didn't seem to do anything, but as DH reminded me, I make my due date today, whereas the scans dated me last week 20/9, so maybe i was right all along? My DH is getting pretty desperate too for this baby, although that could be because he is looking forward to 2 weeks off work!
Good luck everyone!
41 or 40 !!

Dixiebell · 27/09/2010 10:00

Cluds, my date was also brought forward after my first scan a week from what I thought it should be, so my original DD was 3/10. So I too wouldn't be surprised to go to that or beyond. Got a sweep on Friday too if nothing before that..

JodeyLea · 27/09/2010 10:07

Morning ladies. parkj keep your chin up. Just think, in just a few days, which ever way, you will have your little precious bundle in your arms for sure. So sorry you are feeling ill. Must be horrible feeling so nauseous. Takes me back to week 7. I get the odd occasion of feeling a bit sick for about 10 minutes or so but it certainly hasn't effected my appetite! Still scoffing my chops away.

Cluds, that must be annoying as if you were right about your date, you could effectively give yourself an extra whole week before having to be induced.

As for me, still nothing to report. No signs at all Sad. My friend who was due to be induced today went into natural labour yesterday at 40+12 so there is still hope.

40+3

JodeyLea · 27/09/2010 10:09

Also I've got a mw app tomorrow. Do you think she will automatically offer me a S&S or should I ask for one? Not sure what to do as will only be 4 days over.

saoirse86 · 27/09/2010 12:09

hi ladies, i thought i'd update you all. i was on here last weds saying my waters had broken and was having contractions. turned out to be hind waters so i was left to it pretty much. after 68 (!) hours of contractions, she finally arrived on friday (due date) at 6.42pm weighing 6lb 14oz and her name is orlaith. i managed with just 4 hours of g and a in mid stages and got her out naturally. very proud of myself!!
good luck to everyone who's still waiting

parkj83 · 27/09/2010 12:10

Hi ladies :)

Just had my 2nd round of homeopathy, and am pleasantly smelly - the dogs can't make it out! lol :o

G says my body is very ready for labour, not just by my experiences, but also from what she felt too so that's all good! She thinks it'll be later tonight or tomorrow, and she's given me some hints and tips to help things along - have a sleep now to relax even more, go for a walk if possible, warm compresses on lower back and belly, massage from DH too. And there are pressure points on my hands I can use too... so!

Feeling extremely positive now, and of course, very much more relaxed!

jodey I had dreadful sickness up to about 21 weeks, so a bit of nausea is a walk in the park (annoying all the same though)!

comixminx · 27/09/2010 12:29

mapletrees, the expressing has definitely made a difference to my supply, I think, though not so much to the length of time that DD feeds at one go. She's still on the boob for quite a lot of the day, but I'm sure she's getting more out, and the feeds are sometimes a bit quicker I think too, though perhaps not drastically so. It's been worth doing though.

park, very good to hear that your body is just about ready, even if you're not quite yet there! Good luck for the last little bit of the way.

saoirse, congratulations on the birth! Ouch on the length of the contractions - I too had a pretty long time of it but not as long as that. Still, all over now!
