It is only 11:15 BUT I was still in my jammies at tea time yesterday...

I have NO clothes that fit and I don?t want to buy anything until after my scan on Friday... (Partly because otherwise I would have to drag 3 little people to the shops with me and DH is home this week end so I will go with a friend instead!)

RosiePosie · 27/09/2005 16:31

oh, best of luck with your scan - how many weeks are you now?

Cadmum · 27/09/2005 16:37

I am 16 weeks 3 days. I will be 17 on Friday. (Only offered the scan because of my missed miscarrages around this time.)

My DS2 is still in his jammies too.

Frizbe · 27/09/2005 16:44

Hurrah for jammies says I, you can't beat them once went around woburn abbey with a friend in my jammies (and her in hers) after a party in London! the looks we were getting!

munz · 27/09/2005 16:46

ooh friz - remind me of me butlins days when friday nights was dress up day when we went out! - many a night out in bognar in jarmies! lol (teddy bears as well! lol)

arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Butlins at Bognor, now there's one childhood Xmas I don't want reminding about, soooooo bored.....

munz · 27/09/2005 16:56

alas yes as a child on holiday would be borning, however as a worker it's crappy until u get intot he night life - then it's non stop! lol. never money for food always money for drink - never sleep at night always sleep at work!

I am officially dressed. DS2 still in jammies but since the fridge is empty, I suppose that I need to get him dressed before I go to get groceries...

I am so glad that my DH is home on Thursday night. I need a sanity break!

I am hoping that if this (and the next) appt go well with the consultant that I can get him to agree that my pregnancy is not high risk. I would love to find a better option for ante-natal care in New York. Can?t stand hospitals. Bad enough to have to go there to deliver (would like to avoid that too!) never mind monthly leading to weekly visits...

munz · 28/09/2005 09:32

morning all,

cadmum - hope u're DH is home safe and sound, does he have some time off now? hopefully ur apt will go well. when do u find out about his promotion/move to NY?

Hi Munz, just a flying visit from me, trying to catch up with all the gossip on various threads! have to load dd into the pushchair and head for the shops shortly, so ttfn, hope all are ok!

Zephyrcat · 28/09/2005 10:02

Morning Have been sulking for the last couple of days - seems the sickness has reared it's ugly head again and I've got permanant migraines and headaches The house looks like a bomb has hit it and i've lost control of dd and ds lol. Seems like they just know I haven't got the energy for them so they are playing up and having tantrums non-stop. I just want to curl up in a dark corner and sleep for a month!!!
I bought some pregnancy mags the other day and got a perfectly happy people catalogue with one of them - they are doing the wedge pillows for a tenner which isn't so bad. You can use them after in the cot so the baby isn't totally flat which is handy. Haven't looked at the mags since though - I hate the bits where they put photos of someone giving birth - puke! lol. The one I bought showed a caesarean birth so it was put away very quickly until dp rips those pages out!!!!! I don't think the SPD has started yet but where I've been walking dd to school and having to push the pram with shopping in it I've pulled all the muscles across my scar and it's agony!! Will have to mention it to the doc when I see him as I'm paranoid about the scar not being strong enough for another huge bump!!

Lizzylou · 28/09/2005 10:06

Zephyrcat, I sympathise about headaches/migraines as I have really been suffering and bloomin Kool n Soothe and paracetomol just don't work, had a humdinger on Sunday/Monday which ended up in me running from Ds to get to the loo, only to end up vomitting in the kitchen! DS was scared...I was mortified and Dh was not too happy about finally having to clean the kitchen floor (I told him the tiles he chose were a devil to clean!) ...sorry oif too much info...
I spoke to the midwife about my migraines and she said they would prob get worse (thanks for that!) but she said to go to the GP as she was sure there would be somethhing stronger than paracetomol now that would be safe to take...I am going to go next week...will let you know how I get on...

Zephyrcat · 28/09/2005 10:15

Thanks LL - hopefully it will be good news on the pain killer front!! Paracetamol just don't touch it do they I thought they got better after the first 12 weeks or so......mind you i've blocked most of my last pg out as I remember thinking how dreadful it was and I never wanted to be pg ever again!!!

Lizzylou · 28/09/2005 10:16

ZC, I wanted a gap of around 2.5/3 yrs between DS and next one, but hated being pg so much I thought just go for it as I knew I would never do it again otherwise! Birth was fine to me, just couldn't wait for my pregnancy to end!

Zephyrcat · 28/09/2005 10:19

Same here!! I knew I wanted 3 eventually but this one was a total surprise - ds was only born last year! - but am sooooooooo glad that after this one I'll never ever ever do it again!!

poppyh · 28/09/2005 10:30

Same here too. This is my third and im so glad i'll never be pg again!

desperatehousewife · 28/09/2005 10:47

NEVER EVER AGAIN!!

Poor migrane sufferers - can't imagine. Really hope you can get some drugs which will help you out.

Saw midwife yesterday - YAY no protein in my wee this time and BP absolutely fine. Not worrying about Pre-eclampsia today which is nice!

Off to pick DS up in a min...just a flying visit to say hi.

RosiePosie · 28/09/2005 11:14

This is my last ever too. I will be thrilled to never ever be pg again. I'm just about to watch the live vasectomy on This Morning, so I can tell dh all about it! He has agreed in principle - I just need to get him to the clinic next year.

I hope you migraine sufferers get some relief soon. I've suffered two migraines in my entire life, and that's enough for me.

newgirl · 28/09/2005 11:16

Hello everyone

RP - I just had to have pate the other day too! I never eat it usually but I was obsessed!! Had a brie sandwich yesterday - I can't help myself!!!

munz - Job sorted - I went in yesterday and was so nice to everyone and wangled doing all the easy bits at home yippee!!!! =

Off to get a bagel yumyum no pate or brie though or vodka

Zephyrcat · 28/09/2005 11:18

I'm taping the vasectomy to show dp lol. One way or another I've got to convince him!!

I'm addicted to sandwich paste at the moment and have just realised - do you think it's the same as pate? ie I shouldn't be eating it??!

RosiePosie · 28/09/2005 11:30

The no pate thing is because it usually contains liver (yuk! ) which is high in Vit A, which isn't recommended in pg. I'm sure you have to eat a LOT of pate for it to matter though. Dunno about sandwich paste - does it have liver in it?

Zephyrcat · 28/09/2005 11:39

I don't know lol Some doesn't like the fish ones but not sure about the meaty ones, will have to have a look. Is the pate thing just about the liver? I thought it was because it is more suceptible (sp) to a type of bacteria or something? Maybe not!

I've just discovered something else which I think I'll end up addicted to...........Branston pickle flavour cheddars!! MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!

RosiePosie · 28/09/2005 11:58

Yeah, it could be about the bacteria thing too. They say to avoid things from the deli counter, but prepackaged stuff is okay.

I've given up anyway, lol. Just eating what I fancy. I ALWAYS crave branston pickle when I'm pg!

Cadmum · 28/09/2005 12:03

LOL at the vasectomy show! I am thinking that if my DH watched the show he might be less inclined to have the procedure done.

I am hoping that I will feel that my family is complete after this little one is born because I also can?t stand the first 20 weeks of being pregnant. This chunk of time seems even bigger this time since I am playing the part of single mother to three children already!

My neighbour was standing in her driveway yesterday with a newborn in her arms. She should only be 36 weeks pregnant but Charles arrived early. She was wearing her own pre-pregnancy clothes and the only reason it was obvious that she must be baby?s mummy was her HH chest! Another neighbour and I were duly disgusted by this and the fact that she had a 6 hour labour and Charles is her first! Honestly, I was SO happy for her and it really made me look forward to holding our tiny baby...It is nice to be broody when you are already pg!

Cadmum · 28/09/2005 12:05

RP STOP! Please don?t tell me to avoid the deli counter in favour of pre-packaged things... I was certain that the deli foods must be fresher. What is worse? Knowing and ignoring the recommendations or just not knowing? (Ignorance was so bliss with our first two.)
