oneofeach · 26/08/2005 08:39

Hi again everyone. I had my nuchal scan on Wednesday and like everyone else I was very nervous but it was fab. I just relieved that there was definitely someone in there! A very active little one aswell. Got some good photos, a nice one looking at the camera! Re the heart rate stuff, during my last pregnancy, my midwife told me that my heart rate was showing 'boy' - I was a bit p*ssed off as I didn't want to know the sex, although happy to have a boy. However she was very wrong and I had a little DD. So please don't rely on the info. Having said all that, I am sure it is a boy this time.
We're off to France tomorrow, our last holiday as a foursome. Shame I can't drink wine and eat soft cheese but never mind. Best wishes to everyone for the next fortnight!xx

desperatehousewife · 26/08/2005 09:20

oh oneofeach - have a fab holiday - i'm very jealous!

Rosie - we'll definately be finding out what sex we are having - dying to know. Doesn't October seem a long way off though!

just realised why ive' been feeling so completely wiped out the last few days - start of a cold...not a bad one though thankfully!

Think I might have cracked my DS' 5.30am waking every morning (it was killing me!) by dropping his afternoon nap - we've had a full 6 days on the trot of no earlier than 6.30 - what bliss! 7.30 this morning bless him!!

Swiper - you take it easy - sounds like your body is saying your'e trying to do too much - slow down a bit and just give into the tiredness as much as you can!

Hope everyone has a good weekend.
x

SF - how far are u now? I had the same at 8 weeks exactly. a terrible migrane it was.

OFE - glad u're scan went well as well.

really want to have mine now

still 12 weeks today - congrats cadmum/DHW u're 12 weeks as well! we made it this far!

OP posts:
swiperfox · 26/08/2005 10:12

Hi all Glad to see everyone is ok - all these scans sound fab - can't wait for mine although will be a while yet, it's all going sooooo slow!

Still got a stonking headache today - Munz I'm around 8 weeks now I think although i'm not 100% sure i'm working it out right!! I had migraines with the other two as well and it makes it worse when you know you can't have any migraleve!! I think a lot of it is stress becuse I'm still in shock that we're having another one and it's a bit overwhelming!

munz · 26/08/2005 10:27

u can have parocetomal(sp) only my M/W said, 8 in 24 hours, so take two and have a bit of dry toast and close the curtains (if the bub's will let u!)

munz aka - founder member of the CE appreciation club - thanks for doing the list!

I feel much better now - not so sicky. I definitely want to know the sex - last time we had no idea as my little dd had her legs crossed - so modest. SO i thought she was going to be a boy and then was shocked when she popped out - silly I know!! Mind you if it is a boy this time I will go and spend too much money on clothes and if it is wrong that will be very silly indeed.

have a good long sunny weekend y'all

marne · 26/08/2005 12:46

Hi,
Feeling realy tierd today dd was up in the night and dh was snoaring all night. Feeling sick but i dont mind as i am so plesed baby is ok. dh and i spent ages talking about names last night, we dont realy agree on many, has anybody else thought about names, i know its early but im so excited.Dh wants to call it Luke or Gemma. Cant wait to find out the sex, realy want a boy but if its a girl i wont mind (at least i wont have to buy anything). I hope you are all well and happy.

Lizzylou · 26/08/2005 12:50

Hi all

Marne, it's great to hear you so happy! My DS was up last night too (teething...when isn't he??)so am exhausted today!
I am undecided about finding out the sex, we didn't last time and don't want to ruin the surprise, but also another 28 weeks seems ages to wait! I have names picked out, George if it's a boy and either Thea or Lily if it's a girl...used to love Lily but some peeps on another thread have now made me worry as they keep calling it a "scullery maid" name!!!! But hey, thats probably what my ancestros were, not bloomi landed gentry anyway!!!
Anyone else thought about names????

munz · 26/08/2005 12:53

ng- now now there's no need to be mean about CE! lol.

er names, well i've picked Joel (DH mega hates) and I love lilly Mai, (althou my friend's MIL is called lilly and they call her lil and I hate thatsaid in my accent so not sure) or Sophie.

DH's faves include Kira for a girl and thats it really, we're trying not to get too excited until the scan, when he's told me he'll be over the mood to see the bean and have a scan pic he can show off to all his mates! MEN! lol. althou did catch him lookin at the babies r us mags.

OP posts:
marne · 26/08/2005 12:54

I realy like the name george dh doesnt like it, lilly is a pretty name. I like charlie for a boy and Tegan for a girl.

munz · 26/08/2005 12:58

oh love charlie for a boy (well Charley) but again DH doesn't we did pick isobel out - until both parents liked it, i'm working on maddison with him.

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 26/08/2005 13:03

I love the name Charlie...but DH's cousin has a lil boy called that....Joel is a fab name too...
I know a little girl of about 4 who is called Maddison and she is very sweet and very pretty! Never heard of any others though, it's a nice name.
Isn't it a shame we have to ask the Dh's? If it was just my choice would be sooo easy and it is us who carry the babies (and give birth!) so should be down to us!

munz · 26/08/2005 13:10

lol, I was thinking of the friends thing, no uterus no say! lol, but it's not really fair that is it? I guess we'll make a list and see which ones match. Do like william as well. We also had Drew and Bailey for girls. DH looks more at the initals b4 decidin as for middle names we have either sally of Paul.

OP posts:
marne · 26/08/2005 13:11

Good to find someone with the same taste as me, maddison is a great name dh says it sounds american so he doesnt like it. dh only likes common names i would like somthing a bit less common.

Lizzylou · 26/08/2005 13:12

LOve William, but as Ds is Harry, that may look like I'm a right Royalist!!!!
My Dh is Paul and his sister is called Sally! Nice names!

munz · 26/08/2005 13:12

I admitt it I'd like chelsea for a girl as I knew someone by thhat name who was really nice - but A) it's a bit common, b) it's a football team and DH is a rugby man and c) my uncle has a dog called it!

OP posts:
munz · 26/08/2005 13:13

well paul's after both our dad's (odd our dad's have the same name) and sally's after my aunty who I ws really close to that died 2 years ago.

OP posts:
marne · 26/08/2005 13:14

Munz, dh's name is Paul, if he had his way baby would be called paul jr (or PJ).

Lizzylou · 26/08/2005 13:16

Marne, like PJ and Duncan??? of the old Big Brother contestant???
My DH read through the baby names book with me and was adamant on....wait for it...SAXON for a boy!!! Took me ages to get him to change his mind!

munz · 26/08/2005 13:17

I like that actually PJ. there's a lot of Paul's really isn't there, DH didn't want his name used but did want his SD's to be, I think it's DH@s way of saying to him (without saying it) u're my dad and hear to stay. iycwim, as he hates his RD with a mega passion.

OP posts:
munz · 26/08/2005 13:17

saxon - U sure???

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 26/08/2005 13:20

I know! I like the name Paul, it's a "strong" name...IYKWIM.
Thats really sweet of your DH, Munz...bet his SD will be in bits if it's a boy!!!
We are undecided on middle names, want them to relate to our family, but worried about upsetting people that we leave out!

marne · 26/08/2005 13:21

Saxon, never herd of anyone called saxon. You got to think about when the go to school and what other kids will think, thats why dh wants a simple name but it would also be anoying if there are 5 others with the same name in they're class at school.

Lizzylou · 26/08/2005 13:23

Thats what I told my DH! My friend is gutted because one of her mates calls her 6mth old son "Thomas no. 3"!!!
