Zephyr - I just bought a cheap 'bolster' pillow. Is long enough to rest my boobs & bump on and go between my knees for comfort there too. Was about 11 quid. Am thinking I can bend it into a triangle for bf-ing too when the time comes

Zephyrcat · 26/09/2005 18:49

Ooh that's not bad. I think these wedge ones were close to 30 quid!!!

Frizbe · 26/09/2005 19:41

yeah I've got an old triangle wedge pillow which I found in our loft! (inherited off someone in the family) great for sleeping on and for BF later!

RosiePosie · 26/09/2005 20:47

Tchibo had the long bolster pillows last week for about £6 - so I got one, it's fab! I doubt they still have them though, they change their stock every week don't they?

Any sign of the SPD making an appearance ZC? I'm okay at the moment, but I get a bit twingy if I do too much. I'm not walking anymore - thank heavens I can drive! I think it's only going to get worse as the bump gets heavier

RosiePosie · 26/09/2005 20:50

Here you go. . sorry, you'll have to copy and paste the link:

www.tchibo.co.uk/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/uk/-/GBP/TdUkDisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=qHSe2Kmmxqae2eqe-DqUvKoy4olzRJ-0Wsk=?ProductID=jEgKZAOiJBQAAAEFz6t1jGXE&BackTo=Search

£6.99 plus postage which was about £3.50 I think. And it came with two pillow cases!

poppyh · 26/09/2005 21:20

Hi RP,
thanks for pillow tip.Was only talking about needing one of these yesterday to DH.Theyre normally really expensive.Better go and buy one before they sell out.

newgirl · 26/09/2005 21:49

How does CE have time for a new girlfriend? He is meant to be filming?! And now he's jogging as well?! He is SUPERMAN!!!

I'll see you at the race Munz - two preg ladies running after him

Didn't know he was in Elizabeth - is that the new thing on TV with Helen Mirren in it?

Poppy - I got a coat for my dd at the nct sale - bargain. Loads of people with their buggies - they were braver than me. No maternity clothes for me though though quite a few for petites!

They are a bit random really - not worth a two hour drive that's for sure!

I'm cross with work - they have got someone in to help on my project and are giving her all the nice bits that she can do at home - I'm really grumpy. I'll go and talk to them about it tomorrow but I'm not sure what to say without sounding moany old cow - hopefully I will sleep on it.

talking of which, I'm just using a thin old pillow to hold up bump a bit at night - seems ok

night all!

munz · 26/09/2005 22:00

NG- oh dear god no girl the film with cate blanchet - and and r u sitting down - he does a sex scene - yes a whole one and u see his bum! ooh er what I wouldn't give to be that woman underneath him! lol.

(think two PG women would make the poor blokle run faster! lol, filing thaht yep will se u there then! lol) I don't know where the man finds the itme eitehr, esp as he's camped out at my hosue every night! ooooh er!! lol.

anyhow will catch up properly tomorrow.

How come I don?t even have a bump to support yet?

I seem to remember longing to have one of the long pillows that RP bought in Tchibo.... Wish we had Tchibo here...

I am spoiled for maternity shopping though. We have Old Navy and Gap maternity and they always have great sales. My SIL gave away all of the maternity clothes that I lent her so I have absolutely nothing to wear at the moment. (NOT buying anything until after my scan on Friday.) The best part is that SIL is due in December so that ought to teach her!!!

newgirl · 26/09/2005 22:25

I'm BUYING that film tomorrow

I'll tell DH its culture

Frizbe · 27/09/2005 08:43

Cadmum, Old Navy, grrrrr now I'm jealous! actually its not that bad, as friend is in USA at the mo, thus have sent her off shopping there to get me some nice comfy maternity wear! one outfit less to worry about! which remins me, Jackstini, next time your over there Old Navy as I'm sure your aware is definately worth a visit! oh why, oh why won't they move to the UK?
I wouldn't worry about lack of visible bump cadmum, your a fair few weeks behind some of us! (don't forget RP and I should be on the Feb thread more really!)

munz · 27/09/2005 09:42

NG - it is culture honney - culture of ogaling CE! lol. can't u swop roles with ur assistant and work from home?

cadmum - same here on the bump front, I do have a little bump - not too big, in fact the girls in the factory said I had a 'tidy' bump (as in neat small and compact! - don't mind althou my tummy's gettin quite firm, so bit worried about the water side). not really fiar ur SIL giving all ur mat. clothes away.

have u girls seen the v shaped pillow - they're in argos for £6.99 (i'm assuming they're like the round feeding ones?) don't know if to get a wedge pillow or not - kiddicare do them as add ons thou if anyone's buying from there.

poppy size 6! well that's just not fair now is it! lol.

saw a new born yesterday - 3 weeks old, she was sooo tiny, and called pheobe - so cute!

OP posts:
RosiePosie · 27/09/2005 10:36

Well, I haven't exactly got a bump - only a bit of flab which is hard underneath if I poke it! I never get very big anyway - I look 6 months pg when I'm full term.

Yes munz, the Argos V-shaped pillows are the same as the £30 feeding cushions. I got a cheap one and an expensive one last time, and the cheap one kept it's shape longer.

munz · 27/09/2005 10:38

are they worth the money?

OP posts:
poppyh · 27/09/2005 11:20

NG, I agree about NCT sales being a bit random, you can never tell what to expect!!Havent got much of a bump yet although none of my clothes fit.Just cant seem to find any nice maternity jeans, they all look so frumpy!!
Have just ordered a long cushion from tchibo.Had one last time and it was great as I sleep on my side.
Dh has been off sick with a nasty cold for 2 days.Hes in bed doing the whole man not well thing, i.e- BADLYBless him!
Munz, saw a newborn on Sunday, he was tiny!Cant wait for mine!
Hope everyone good today.

Lizzylou · 27/09/2005 12:52

HI all,
phew, took me ages to catch up with all of this...you lot obviously haven't been bedridden with a bloody migraine for the past few days eh?
had a midwife appointment this monring and all is well, heard the baby's heartbeat (v fast? hummmmm)and all set for scan on 21st October.......
Have dug out all old maternity clothes and sorted out new stuff so at least feel more comfy.
Hope all feel ok, I've been having loads of funny aches and pains recently which I put down to ligaments........

munz · 27/09/2005 12:53

oooooooooh LL - snap again! lol, think we had them on the same day last time didn't we! glad ur feeling better now.

Lizzylou · 27/09/2005 13:00

Wierd eh?
It was lovely to hear the heartbeat......

RosiePosie · 27/09/2005 15:47

oh dear, I just ate half a tub of M&S pate! It won't hurt as a one off, will it? And I'm eating soft boiled eggs, peanuts, mayonnaise, brie, parma ham. . .

naughty naughty me!

alex
xx

munz · 27/09/2005 15:48

RP - u're eating soft eggies? how rude, I really want one! lol.

OP posts:
RosiePosie · 27/09/2005 15:54

I think it's partly because it's my third, but mainly because my French SIL eats all these things and more. . .they're not advised to cut out anything over there, apart from watching the calories so they don't get too fat!

I acknowledge there is probably a tiny risk in eating these things, but I bet it's really really tiny. They're organic free range eggs... do you think that makes a difference?

oooh, I'm slobbing about in my over the bump jersey trousers today, they are so comfy!

munz · 27/09/2005 15:55

well apparently so Jessicasmummyandbump tells me eggs are fine as long as they have the lion stamp on them - i've got some free range ones (don't buy battery ones) with the stamp - do u think they'll be OK?

wish I could slob - my trousers are getting tighter

Cadmum · 27/09/2005 16:01

RosiePosie: In Canada, we are not given ?the lists? of foods to avoid either. If I hadn?t had DS2 in the UK, I would not even know that there were foods to avoid. As it stands, I do avoid the runny yolks, unpasteurised cheese and pate. (Mostly because I am paranoid as it is of losing the baby so I wouldn?t want to have it playing on my mind.)

I am sure that once in a while, it is unlikely to cause any harm. Especially if you know it was well refrigerated etc.

Cadmum · 27/09/2005 16:02

I am still wearing my jammies.

RosiePosie · 27/09/2005 16:14

ah, but what time is it in Canada?
