anyone want some brie that's been sweating in the sun all day?

rollerbaby · 10/08/2010 18:53

No way silver I think we've got one more bra size to go before lift off.

SilverSky · 10/08/2010 19:08

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Please no more bras!!!!!!! It's embarrassig when the fitter asks you to lift them up so she can measure you cos they are not supposed to be resting on your bump. Have feeling i will be redirected to the nearerst scaffolding company!!!

Medee · 10/08/2010 19:18

PollyParrot fabulous scan news.

I would quite like to know the sex; MrM does not. Our local NHS does not tell you, so that is decided for us. Besides, I will attempt to avoid the pink stuff for a girl, blue stuff for a boy

CurlyCasperBaggedABairn · 10/08/2010 19:26

defo easier said than done medee. I bought mainly neutrals even though I knew I was having a girl. Did get some cute stuff, but in brighter shades, purples etc. But so much stuff was given as gifts/second hand and is as pink and girly-la-la as it gets. SFF really can't stand it, but I am used to it. Not going to look gift horses in the mouth and all that Grin

While we're on the subject, does anyone want any newborn girl bits and bobs? She's starting to grow out of things now and I have plenty that would be free to any deli dwellers.

Medee · 10/08/2010 19:30

You're right, CC - I figured I would buy neutrals myself as gifts would often be colour-coded. I have already informed MrM that whatever sex our child shall have the opportunity to do both football and dance classes.

Ha! I'll be eating all those words soon!

Backinthebox · 10/08/2010 21:24

Silver I have runners and cayugas. The runners are very funny and the cayugas are just beautiful - black with a bottle green glossy sheen. They also have a lot of meat on them - so are doubly welcome in our household.

I told OH about the bees when he got home and thought he would be a bit cross, but he actually thinks it's a really good idea. Says he all for me being interested in something if someone else is doing the hard work and financial input and we get honey at the end of it.

Have been watching the Sarah Beeny program on C4 tonight, and it makes me a little bit worried about our cottage. We have a desperate need for a lot of pointing. Hmm.

As for girl/boy stuff. I wanted DD to be all neutral, and to have her interested in both traditional girl and boy hobbies. And poniez, obviously! She not capers round the place shouting 'I LIKE pink!' while demanding I play Roary the Racing Car and Thomas the Tank Engine DVDs. She loves her dresses and gets very concerned if her shoes and clothes don't match, and is currently really into Lightning Mcqueen, who for some reason she calls Queeny Mcqueeny. Who knows what goes on in the mind of a 3 year old? Confused

Backinthebox · 10/08/2010 21:27

now! not not Hmm

SkiHorseWonAWean · 11/08/2010 06:56

I was apparently having BH but never felt them. When I was having the CTG when admitted to hospital it seemed they were quite regular - never felt a thing. :)

switty I refuse to spend dosh at "this size" Hmm (I mean in general, not just boobs!) and picked up a bra on Monday for THREE (!) euros in Hema. A very nice one too actually from the sale rack and it fits very well.

Bear can do whatever he wants - although if he's "theatrical" jailbait will tolerate this through gritted teeth I fear. One things for sure - well two actually, he's going to like ponies and he's going to like skiing. Everything else can be negotiated.

organiccarrotcake · 11/08/2010 08:12

vag birthing didn't make my grapes worse for either boy. And anyway, even if it does for you they will start to disappear within 1-2 weeks afterwards so I wouldn't let that put u off a vaginal birth.

gin with my PROM the only completely immovable peeps were the midwife unit. Everyone else was negotiable. I got my waterbirth after 1 week PROM, albeit in labour ward, not MW unit. My favourite word became a very polite, "why?" and it turned often that it was due to "guidelines". Once we established that I was an individual, not a guideline, a lot more flexibility was found.

IM MW excellent idea IMO.

organiccarrotcake · 11/08/2010 08:16

pol fab news :)

box loving the bees. I'd like to do that at some point. Also would like chickens. We had a lovely organic, free range chicken for dinner last night - but from Sainsburys and it would have been so much better to have been our own (peas and taties with it were home grown at least). Only "home grown" meat we can get is rabbits from mum's field (she usually kills about 5 a day from spring to the end of summer in an attempt to stop them a) eating all her grass and b) killing the horses with their holes so it would be a waste not to eat plenty of them).

organiccarrotcake · 11/08/2010 08:18

Just had an interesting spam mail, subject line, "PESH Swimming and Diving Annual Award Banquet"

Backinthebox · 11/08/2010 08:44

Grin Grin Grin Can I be in the line-up for 'Best Bellyflop? Grin

Backinthebox · 11/08/2010 08:45

And VAG will be handing out her 'Best Seals on a Rock Impression' trophy Grin Confused

SomethingSuitablyWitty · 11/08/2010 09:07

I think I do best "barely concealed water-based rage" at those who swim too close (could kick bump) or too slow (it's maddening). Put it this way: I have been practising a lot.Wink

Yeah, my seals are heading rockwards as well. And itching like hell. Ski I too have explored the bra options of Hema - I was initally delighted with their zwangerschapsmeegroei BH which fit like a dream and cost a tenner or something. But it was involved in the recent itchiness/bra-ditching incident and I haven't had it on since. Do still think that shop has it all tho'.

The tide of pink things has actually even already started for me! Mad, no? I like neutrals too, but if people like the pink, then so be it. When a friend of mine recently had a little girl though I got her a neutral card and a purple outfit. Think I was the only one who did!

Cosmosis · 11/08/2010 10:25

Right, I'm off to buy a swimming costume for these here awards.....

(well maybe for spa on Friday)

OP posts:
FannyPriceless · 11/08/2010 10:48

We have tried to buy neutral clothes for both Bonnie and Clyde. For Bonnie we didn't actually know what we were getting so had to. Personally I find some boys clothes are neutral enough for me, and not as insipid as the ubiquitous 'plain white with a beige cartoon bear on them'. Bonnie wore plenty of 'boys' jeans and dungarees. She still wears boys shoes and jumpers.

box MrP is also in charge of Bonnie's bath time, and has been her 'primary caregiver' since my late pg. We have similar hair issues. Also, her toenails - my god! They currently look like teradactyl claws! He said he'll do it 'sometime'.

So cos has cancelled our lunch on Friday so she can swan off to the spa at 9 mths pregnant.Grin She's asked me if we can reschedule for next week. I'm pretty sure I know what's going on here. She's obviously got a massive PESH-crush on me and is determined I am present at the birth. She must be feeling it's going to happen next week rather than Friday, so is trying to engineer my presence. I've suggested we just meet at the labour ward.Wink

That said, she has gone a bit quiet today. cos are you still there and in one piece?

FannyPriceless · 11/08/2010 10:49

Grin cross post with cos. Due to my slow one handed typing while NAKing.Wink

SilverSky · 11/08/2010 11:27

cos are you laying ?!!

OkieCokie · 11/08/2010 12:20

I once went out with a bloke whose Dad was a bee keeper. He used to get live bees delivered in the post I kid you not. I found this very weird but apparently it is the norm.

moo I will organise a baby shower for you, just give me the list of friends and I will do the rest unless you think that is a bit weird Hmm! However, don't trust me to buy any cooking ingredients after last nights performance Wink. Or we could just do our own and go and eat cake and drink wine somewhere?

cos has gone to buy a swimming cos. Unless she got side tracked with baybeeee laying
.

SkiHorseWonAWean · 11/08/2010 12:28

Oh I dunno okie, I'm sure we've all received a parcel in the post which buzzes...

PollyPoo · 11/08/2010 13:07

You get yours sent with the batteries in Ski?

SilverSky · 11/08/2010 13:10

ski you minx!

Backinthebox · 11/08/2010 18:57

Hurray! Work is OVER! Officially tomorrow is my last day, but the lady who I had to give my laptop back to isn't in tomorrow, so what can I do? I have a midwife appointment in the morning, so I will spend all afternoon looking at my phone, in case my manager rings and finds something last minute for me to do. Which isn't going to happen, as he's on holiday in Florida Grin. So there we go - 7 and a half months and I have acheived a lot for me and the department, and managed to get the map I was working on back to where it was before the supplier 'improved' it. Confused All the boys in the office bought me flowers and a card - couldn't imagine my usual work colleagues doing anything like that.

So now all I have to do is sit back, manage a 3 yo, and wait for that sneeze Grin

CluckyKate · 11/08/2010 19:27

Hooray for ML Box - looking forward to joining you on the sofa in a few months time....roll-on Xmas! Great news about the bizzys too - mmmm hunny

Know what you mean about swim-rage Swits - got kicked in the stomach by 4yo niece today, complete accident, but took all my self-control not to explode at her and burst into tears. Still, no damage done.

Tried doing the neutral thing with DD but got fed up with people asking whether she was boy or girl....some idiots still assumed boy when she was clearly wearing pink, floral dresses tho - idiots Confused
