Ladies - just wanted to let you know that this week I went to the funeral of a baby who died whilst still in the womb. Her parents are friends of ours. I'm not sure I would even have asked her if she wanted people to go if it hadn't been for everything I've learnt on Mnet from all of you. Because of what you've shared I know that nothing I could say or do would make it worse and so it's better to say or do something than nothing. Because of you all i have tried to show these parents that their child had a place with all of us and she mattered so much and we will not forget her. I hope that has been of use to them in some tiny way and I wanted you all to know that you have made me braver and I think better able to support people in such a terrible loss.

You do great work here supporting one another but also in showing the rest of us what we need to do, you are supporting parents out there who will never know your names or your stories.

Good work ladies!

Northernlurker , I am so sorry for your friends that they are having to go through this shite . And for you too , I know how hard all this is for people on the outside . Your friends are lucky to have you in their life . I know it will have meant a lot for you to have said that to them . I hope you are ok .

Hi northernlurker, Totally echo everything TW said! Stick with them, they will need you months from now when they will still need someone to talk/scream/cry/hug with. I am lucky to have some amazing friends who have been able to set their own grief and shock for the loss of our wee boy aside to just be there for me. xx

peterpansmum · 04/12/2009 20:49

Hospital was totally shit! Typical fking NHS Bollocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The bottom line is that ds2 seems totally fine - which is the most important thing - but just being back in the hospital was total rubbish. Consultant's secretary had messed up the appointment time. we'd agreed 3.30pm and stressed how it would be difficult it would be if we had to wait, anyway at 3.50pm we asked how much longer we had to wait... to be told that they were expecting us at 4pm! One of the nurses then ushered me away to give me a drink of water, cue explosion of tears - they were full of apologies as they had no idea of our history. Is it wrong to expect them all to communicate - just even a little bit?!

Anyway, I'm pleased to say i'm feeling much better this evening now the apt is over and done with. roll on tomorrow!!!

travellingwilbury · 04/12/2009 21:00

Well done ppm , it always amazes me how many people in the so called "caring" proffesion don't pass on really vital information . I know how panicky I get if I have to go to hospital for whatever reason and it always floors me when they don't know about Harry .

I am glad you are feeling better now and of course that your ds is fine .

Evening ladies

PPM - so glad to hear ds is ok. Sorry to hear about your shoddy treatment though.

chegirlwithbellson · 05/12/2009 20:41

Hello everyone.

PPM totally know what you mean about hospitals. It has become a bit of a phobia with me. To the extent that I had home birth last time and hoping to again this time. Well done for getting through it. I always cry at some point when I have an appt for me or DCs.

Well - my lovely neice had her first baby today. A boy. Her mum has just told me his name. His second name is Jordon. After Bille as her second name is Jordon . What is even nicer is that his first name is Ashton. My DS2's 3rd name is Ashton - Billie chose it! (did you get all that?). Neice didnt know this so its an extra gift from my darling.

Wishing you all strength as we approach a difficult time of year x

shabbapinkfrog · 06/12/2009 01:20

Morning ladies

Another week of fretting over Christmas preparations. I wrote the cards last night so that's done and dusted.

Why do we do this to ourselves at this time of year?!
