Many thanks to ILike for passing on the baton to myself and Harry . I know we are a bit previous but I am worried I will get the timing wrong .

I feel like I have only been here a wee while but it is invaluable to me .

This is a poem that has helped me in the past .

I have not turned my back on you
So there is no need to cry.
I'm watching you from heaven
Just beyond the morning sky.

I've seen you almost fall apart
When you could barely stand.
I asked an angel to comfort you
And watched her take your hand.

She told me you are in more pain
Than I could ever be.
She wiped her eyes and swallowed hard
Then gave your hand to me.

Although you may not feel my touch
Or see me by your side.
I've whispered that I love you
While I wiped each tear you cried.

So please try not to ache for me
We'll meet again one day.
Beyond the dark and stormy sky
A rainbow lights the way.

Good morning all
Shabs...your from Bolton? Do you know Highfield Primary School?

It is overcast in London today, but thats good though as have LOADS of stuff to do, we are off in the morning for the school holidays! Can't wait to get away, and have a change of scenery. It is all laundry, cleaning and packing today! Hope your all going to have a better day!

FM....good luck in the preps for the party, I am sure it will be good, glad you got the cake fixed!

To answer re garden party...she does certain dates and invites members of the commonwealth, so as I am a Canuck...I can go! So it is not really any reason exciting or glamorous (would love to say it was!!)

Dee, DEF can use that outfit for the wedding, I think it is a fab outfit...I love the matching shoes (I am a fashion disaster, I do not think I have EVER had matching shoes

shabster · 04/04/2009 12:08

Certainly do know Highfield Primary School. Toms favourite teacher from his Primary went to work there a couple of years ago. It is about 10 minutes walk from my house.

melissa75 · 04/04/2009 12:25

Shabs...DH's cousin is going to be the new Head there in September! What a small world!

shabster · 04/04/2009 13:06

WOW it is a small world. Where do you live? Highfield seems a good school - its not massive but it has one of the best High Schools in our area just over the road from it....tried getting Tom in there but we didn't have enough church attendances for him to get in. The High School was oversubscribed by about 800 applications

melissa75 · 04/04/2009 13:11

I am down in London, but DH's cousin just interviewed and got the post two weeks ago, so we are all very excited for him. He is an absolutely amazing man, and will be a fantastic addition to the school. Thats a huge oversubscription!

Hi all, Have been a bit distracted so havent been posting much.........We have just been shopping in town, it takes twice as long with Wilf as he knows everybody! Saw one of the luvvvvvvvverly GP's from our practice with his wife and was telling them about this thread! He was brilliant with Wilf a few years ago, one Saturday afternoon Wilf was climbing onto a storage box in our back yard and fell onto the concrete floor! We had a mad dash to casualty with my mum and aunt, three miles from home he was going to sleep and mum started to panice and said she knew where Dr M lived and went there. Even though he was off duty he was brilliant and told us what to do, he said if he was sick in the next three hours to go to casualty, two hours and fifty five mins later as Mum was leaving mine, he said "Bye Graggy..........bleeeeeeeeeeeugh" and vomited all over the floor in front of her!
25 mile trip to casualty followed!
The following Monday another GP came to our satellite surgery and I sent a bottle of wine and card back to Dr M with a message saying "thank you for letting us invade your house on Saturday love Charlotte and Wilfred xx We are truly lucky with our GP's!!

Hiya my love....its good to see you here. I can identify with your feelings. Do you sometimes wake up and think it is a dream? I used to. Then within seconds you remember. Always here for you. I think you are doing (are you ready for those words we all hate!) as well as can be expected. I could slap my own face for just saying that but I think its true

Shout up if you need to gab - never a problem xx

Like I said Everlong - never a problem. xx

melissa75 · 05/04/2009 11:25

Everlong, sounds like things are really rough for you at the moment..so sorry to hear. I can still remember ordering the headstone for my two, it seems like yesterday, and was too, so surreal. Something I have found, and I hope it will give you comfort too, once it has been laid in, it sort of brings some finalization to the process, and in some way, some closure. At the time of mine, I could not afford a headstone, so just had a number, which I hated, but in recent years, have been able to place a headstone, and found it really helped. I wanted the world to know who had been laid to rest there.

Hope your able to get bereavement counselling sooner rather than later, I went for that, and found it to be really helpful. Are you going through a GP referral? (only ask, as found that worked quicker than other options of referrals, as they put a priority on it for me)

You'll be in my thoughts, and hope you find some stronger days.

lottiejenkins · 05/04/2009 16:07

Hiya ladies, a beautiful day here, Wilf has been outside for most of the day, we went to Mums for lunch and i played cricket in the garden with him and my nephew and niece. He's at the park now, he played baseball with his friend Saxon and now ive just left him having a knockabout football game with the lads his age! I always get worried leaving him.....

lottiejenkins · 05/04/2009 17:25

It appears i was right to worry about leaving him!!! He was teaching the boys in the park all the rude sign language signs!!!

melissa75 · 05/04/2009 18:04

lottie...always good to go with the gut feeling (as you said about worrying about leaving Wilf!!) Hope you were able to get it sorted out.

Right girls, I am off now for two weeks, going away for the Easter school holidays. Happy Easter to all of you who are celebrating it, and hope you all keep yer chins up...have a good couple of weeks!

shabster · 06/04/2009 09:16

Any of you having problems getting onto Facebook?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/04/2009 13:17

Hi all. Sorry I haven't been around much lately. I've been mega busy out and about and Mac has been demanding a LOT of attention at the moment, which is rather wearing. But I keep repeating the mantra 'it's just a phase'

Lottie, I have to agree there aren't a lot of good guys out there, but there are some left. Good luck in your search
