Hello my good friends

Its lovely to be asked to set up our new support tread especially as we head towards our first festive season supporting each other.

I hope Frasers part of the journey is as smooth as Eris, Jack and Matt&Gareths

Morning all.

Still no FMN? She'll be back. She's either busy or just needs a break. But I know she'll be back sometime soon.

Hope you feel better soon fm, flu is wretched isn't it?

lottiejenkins · 20/11/2008 15:21

Afternoon all.......im about to tackle a huge pile of bramley apples that need cooking off... then reflexology later on!!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 20/11/2008 19:05

What are you going to do with the bramleys lottie? I'm a bit unexciting and always make apple crumble.

It's quiet here today!

feedmenow · 20/11/2008 19:31

Anyone around? I need some advice! Have to make it wuick and haven't read other posts for days (training in London!) but have developed swollen calves, ankles and feet and don't know whether to worry.

On the logical side, I am commuting 1.5 hours each way so am spening a fair amount of time on my feet, but HAVE been quite lucky getting a seat most of the time. But extra time on feet could be causing it.

But on the worrying side, I have felt a few moments of being off balance today (not as major as dizziness but just momentary lapses, have marks round my calves where my slouch boots are too tight, round my ankles where my socks are digging in and on my feet where I have an imprint of the spots from my socks. I don't REALLY feel like I've been on my feet loads, but it is obviously more than usual.

I also feel particularly emotional today, but that could be the long days and long travelling.

I've never suffered swollen ankles before so am obviously now extra paranoid. But my BP is always low - last Friday it was 90/55 so I wouldn't have expected any major changes in 6 days.

Any suggestions? Am I being paranoid (as I suspect)?

lottiejenkins · 21/11/2008 00:28

Havent any good advice but is good to see you back fmn xxxx we have been worried. am now off to bed have had too many glasses of red wine xx

pinkfrog · 21/11/2008 00:39

FMN - I know nothing of pregnancy - i just know that I owe you a fortune. You dragged me in and made me listen!!! I remember reading your first thoughts on MN. I remember thinking if she can make it through all this crap so can I You are doing so well my love. I am so proud of you. xxx

feedmenow · 21/11/2008 06:39

Thanks Lottie, thanks Pinkfrog. Think I might give my midwife a call later and have a chat with her.....

hazygirl · 21/11/2008 07:47

fmn welcome back weve all missed you and been worriedxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

lottiejenkins · 21/11/2008 07:57

Im so so hungover...... But i had a lovely evening with a special friend whos going off repping in France and i wont see him till April hence the copious amounts of wine drunk! Im going to freeze the bramleys later on today. Lets hope the children arent too noisy today Apparently we have snow due this afternoon!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 21/11/2008 08:51

fmn - defo speak to your MW, although it's probably nothing to worry about. You are just as liekly to get swollen legs and feet from sitting down as you are standing up. The only way you will stop the swelling when sitting down is by having your legs up - which isn't great train etiquette

I am always more emotional when I am tired, so what with the long commute you are doing and being really quite pregnant I'm not surprised you're feeling emotional.

It's good to see you back

lottie - you are a lush I didn't know snow was forecast It's not that cols here today, but it is very windy.

charleymouse · 21/11/2008 09:46

FMN have just had two days on first aid at work and they said if you have a pregnant patient who has new swelling get them to contact their MW or GP so offically I am telling you to do that. glad to see you back.

Hope Everlong is okay I have been thinking of her this week.

Unfortunately after my noisy post on Tuesday I got a call from my Mum as my Nana not well, she died whilst I was on my way to see her. I am gutted.

Hope you are all well.

lottiejenkins · 21/11/2008 11:18

hazygirl · 21/11/2008 17:41

cm im so sorry about your nan big hugsxx

pinkfrog · 21/11/2008 18:09

CharleyM - so so sorry about your Nan. My Nanna died about 5 years ago and I was heartbroken - she was my hiding place when my Mum or Dad were mad with me

So sorry xx

feedmenow · 21/11/2008 19:11

Another quickie - I am shattered and plan to spend my weekend doing as little as poss!

Went up to DAU this afternoon to be on the safe side - no protein in pee, normal (low) BP, everything seems fine. Have been told that my body is trying to tell me to slow down, so I'm darn well going to have a VERY slow weekend!

Apart from going to 4D scan tomorrow (v. exciting!) I will be putting my feet up and being pampered!

CM - orry to hear about your nan

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 21/11/2008 19:38

CM- so sorry to hear about your Nan. Love to you and yours xxx

FMN - so glad to hear things are ok. Infact I hope you've got your feet up right now. Let us know how the 4D scan goes - I'm v excited for you.

pinkfrog · 22/11/2008 08:25

FMN - so glad you posted...delighted that everything is good...let us know about your scan.

Morning girls - its a freezing cold but sunny morning here xx

lottiejenkins · 22/11/2008 10:07

Morning very cold here at the moment too. We are going to our Christmas Bazzaar in church shortly. Ive been thinking about Jack even more lately. I think its cos his birthday is a month today. He would have been 14 this year getting into all the usual teenage things. Its hard too because my niece and my godson were born a month either side of him. I always feel like part of me is missing. Im sitting here crying as i type this. This is Jacks song. It was no 1 when he was born.

The words seem so appropriate too.

pinkfrog · 23/11/2008 00:37

So sorry that you are feeling down Lottie. Birthdays are hard work aren't they - especially when it is a birthday around Christmas time. The festive season - the season we should all be happy and excited [large intake of breath emoticon] we are going to have to stick close together this year. For many of us it is the 'first' Christmas and for the rest of us it is 'just another' Christmas. We need to hold each other tight and paint on our smiles. We are so lucky because we have children that need us to make it 'magic' for them....no matter what there age. xxxxx

hazygirl · 23/11/2008 05:39

morning girls ,big hug lottie, its awful aint it ,its two years since jayden died on 1st december ,take care of yoursefxgetting ready for work here and weather freezing

pinkfrog · 23/11/2008 08:18

Good morning girls. We must have had snow at some point in the night - now we have typical freezing cold Manchester rain!!!!

lottiejenkins · 23/11/2008 11:23

Morning........snowing madly here... I went out to a dinner with all my friends last night. It was what i needed, i have had so much stress here with Wilfred being off school and all the trouble with the house! The builders are back tomorrow! After dinner (was a cricket club 'do') we all danced ourselves silly till 1am! Then this morning we went to church and then Wilf played with his sledge with the boys outside!
