Hi

I had a gorgeous little girl 9w and 3d ago, she was fullterm 39weeks, 8 hours after giving birth she was having her first check and was taken to special care, she had trouble breathing, the nurses thought he had swallowed meconium and just needed abit of help, this didnt clear after two days so was taken to a intensive care unit where she was put on a ventilator, paralysed and they tried to see what this was her lungs were very haze on x-ray, she then was giving medications after medications to cure this infection, nothing was working. she was then transferred up to London to a huge lung disease intensive care unit, had again mega tests done and the answers were still negative, nothing showed that she had a condition, this is horrendous to go through let alone to tell.
again she was put on a ventilator and tests wre carried out - the specialists advised that there was nothing they could help her with and she was dying. They gave her 2 weeks to live, a further 4 weeks on she was still fighting but by this time she was detiriorating and all we could do was love my little girl, the most gorgeous thing in my life.

The diagnosis then came back that this was a genetic disorder and she was suffering with a lethal incurable lung disorder called serfactant deficiency. She died monday 1st october 07, very peacefully. Please pray that our daughter is in safe hands now. God bless my angel and sleep tight.

If anyone has been through this then please mail back....

Gorgeous, I'm so sorry for the loss of your beautiful girl. What did you call her? We lost our first baby, a daughter, to anencephaly in 2005. Have you tried posting on the SANDS forum - it's incredibly supportive, and you may find someone who's been through a very similar loss to yours. It's at www.sandsforum.org/

Hi gorgeous

I am so terribly sorry to hear of the loss of your little girl. It must be absolutely devastating. HOwever, i don;t think it is morbid, how can it be morbid to celebrate a life, however brief.. she must have touched your lives in such a special way...

I wish you the strength to get through the dark times ahead.

you and your little angel will be in our hearts at this time.

take care
x
