I am trying to ignore them and not interact with them.

Keep me occupied before I knock his fucking head off.

my kids are pissing me off too tbh

They are 4 & 2 and have not stopped screaming, fighting, hitting each other all day...

They are watching peppa Pig and I have just threatened them with bedtime If I hear another peep.

God I sound like my mother did

FAB - I feel you pain, I think all we can do is get through each day at a time

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 06/06/2010 17:55

We need to get some games. Not sure what will suit the age range.

They have been out in the garden most of the day and out on their bikes.

I took ds2 with me shopping for pyjamas for him.

They aren't sleep. Just quiet in their rooms. I suspect reading.

Have you got snakes & ladders?

That seems to be the big hit in this house.

I know my Dcs are younger but I have friends with Dcs of varying ages and they all seem to like it...

TrinityTrinityTrinity · 06/06/2010 17:58

my 10 year old goes to bed at 7pm anyway

fab

comewhinewithme · 06/06/2010 17:58

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 06/06/2010 17:59

Serves me right for saying to dh a couple of hours ago that I felt I was coming back. Felt more chilled and relaxed.

.

My 12 year old has been sent upstairs and told to read very quietly.

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 06/06/2010 18:00

Can you play snakes and ladders with 5?

OP posts:
lostinwales · 06/06/2010 18:04

If you go and buy some games can I recommend junior monopoly, it's something that all our boys can play with us, I was amazed at the period of harmony we had whilst playing. (Although I did have to put the computer down and interact with them, ugh!)

TheFallenMadonna · 06/06/2010 18:05

Mine like Cadoo. I'm not so keen mind you.

And cards - they love Beggar My Neighbour, and the older one loves gin (rummy that is...)

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 06/06/2010 18:08

Talk to me about Junior Monopoly. What is the difference from regular Monopoly.

Never heard of Cadoo. What is that game?

Can't remember how to play BMN.

Fab, I totally sympathise. I only have 2 of 4 and 2 and I am ready to blow.If I hear one more scream, cry or witness one more punch I will go mad. DS1 just stamped on DS2's back over a bloody train set. Thank god they are going away with their dad tomorrow for a few nights as otherwise I'd be getting my antid's upped big time.

Hope tomorrow is another day for you.

simpson · 06/06/2010 18:09

Fab - think you can play snakes & ladders with up to 6.

DD (2.4) is now in bed

Only one left to go....

Ludo is also a hit here too...

comewhinewithme · 06/06/2010 18:11

Don't wake dad is good Fab.

simpson · 06/06/2010 18:12

smokinaces - your day sounds just like mine. My 4yr old punched the 2yr old in the face in the bath today

Is it too early for wine anyone??!!

TheFallenMadonna · 06/06/2010 18:13

It's kind of like pictionary/charades, with added sculpting, and treasure hunting. Kids like it.

Beggar My Neighbour

They also like Ludo/Frustration. DH and DS play chess and draughts.

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 06/06/2010 18:15

I shall make a list.

Thank you.

Is there a game called How to fix things when you are a shite mum?

OP posts:
deaddei · 06/06/2010 18:16

We have a game called Toss Your Cookies the children like- also Blink (a quick card game) and Junior Monopoly is great fun.
Monopoly City is more complicated but good too.

simpson · 06/06/2010 18:17

Fab if there is I shall be buying it too

lostinwales · 06/06/2010 18:21

Junior Monopoly is just a simplified version of the big game that doesn't take as long to play. It still had the spirit of the big game but was understandable by a six year old. Another good game is lego Creationary, like pictionary but with lego, which is very popular in this household, mainly for the hilarity at how poor our model making skills are. (And if it makes us sound like a wholesome board playing family we're not, this is maybe a once a quarter attempt at being functional, normally we live in a state of pure chaos interspersed with DH exploding at a boy and me shouting at him for overreacting, just like the Waltons really )

smokinaces · 06/06/2010 18:22

simpson, I am beyond it with them at the moment. I'm sure me and my sisters used to fight, but never this physical? DS2 has been pinching and punching and hitting with toys all day, DS1 have kicked, stamped and pushed his head straight into a wall. And they spent 4 hours apart this afternoon!!

I am literally covered in bruises on my arms and legs from DS2 and my neighbours have already complained about my shouting once. Even the GP on Friday morning (when I had to take them in with me for my antid review) after 3 minutes said he was not taking me off them until at least September when DS1 starts school. Thank god for small mercies!

That is what upsets me - the physical side. DS2 pushed DS1 down the stairs this morning. one day they are going to put each other in hospital.

OP posts:
FabIsGoingToGetFit · 06/06/2010 18:25

Of course I am not going to knock their fucking heads of or hit them. That is the whole point of ranting on here so I get it out and not at the expense of them.
