Would love to know whay "type" of names people give their dcs - i.e. if people stick to the same thrend or style of name for their DC so they flow well together or if it doesnt really make a difference at all.

I'm due number 2 in January and am almost decided on a name, but have found myself coming to decision by trying all names with dds. Just wondering what others do...

All my children's middle names have a family connection and are usually named after a grandparent,dad or aunt but i think they sort of go

Sofia Pauline (she hates it but i promised my mum!) Renee (1992)

Faith Anastasia (after my great grandma) (1995)

Grace Mary Kathleen (for the irish contingent in the family) (1997)

Milo John William (after my lovely much missed Dad ) (2009)

mine are plain old Matthew James and Lauren Carla- everyone else on the thread sounds very elaborate in comparison!

Alex came out of the blue - we both just liked it but it turned out it was a family name for DH. Eleanor was a name I had always loved. Both have Greek roots apparently. Joseph was named for Joe Cole a West Ham player who then proceeded to bugger off to some other team. But I got off lightly DH had wanted to name DS#1 Julian after Julian Dicks

Addison is known as Addison but Dexter is Dexxy and Aurora is Rorie most of the time.

Charlene is CharChar, Hubey is Hubes and Missy is Missy.

Ds is William Gilbert and dd is Margaret Anne though she is usually known as Daisy (yes, it is a diminutive of Margaret).
