A sister for Lucy....

dd2 is due in September and I am sadly lacking in inspiration when it comes to names.

I would like her middle name to be a family name, possibly Margaret or Florence after MIL as dd's middle name came from my side.

Lucy was the only name we agreed on when dd was born. We like traditional names, with dh being more conservative than I am. We weren't aware of Lucy's popularity when she was born but tbh I think we would have used it anyway. Her name suits her very well I feel.

So, any ideas gratefully received

Lockets just had a nosy look at your profile and your dh and ds are soooooo cute together

TigerFeet · 23/04/2009 19:23

Stella - I had a violin teacher called Stella once. She used to wear nylon dresses in wonderous shades of lime green and chocolate. I just can't do it.

Nellie - I rather like Nell. DD's middle name is after my Gran, Ellen, who was known as Nellie. DH had a gran called Nellie too.

Francesca - yes a possibility. Will ask DH.

Hortense, Farraday - hahaha at dh's face if I suggest one of those...

I rather like Romilly but that's a no go with dh too. He is ultra conservative with names iirc.

I have a Lucy. If this one is a dd she may be Nancy or Helena.

Lulumama · 23/04/2009 19:24

ok then !

I like francesca,HTH !

FrannyandZooey · 23/04/2009 19:25

stella is really good though because it means starry doesn't it, and lucy means light i presume?

we liked dulcie, maude, nell, polly, tess, rowan

any good?

FrannyandZooey · 23/04/2009 19:25

my friend just had a heidi which is SO nice

TigerFeet · 23/04/2009 19:26

Martha is nice isn't it I like Matilda too. DH wouldn't countenance either.

Isabel/Isobel - rather like this, not sure which spelling I'd go for though.

Alexandra - one of those names I like but wouldn't choose myself

Thea - not sure, I like but not enough to use

Saskia - used by a friend

Nancy - not keen

Oooh I love your names Fra. Someone have another baby.

Your dh might like Tessa?

ahundredtimes · 23/04/2009 19:29

Isobel. You would go for Isobel

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 23/04/2009 19:30

Mabel
Constance
Patience
Emmaline
Effy

DH hated all of the girls names I came up with, but I really like the older names.

TigerFeet · 23/04/2009 19:30

But Stella wore hideous dresses. Those dresses will stay with me until the day I die. I. Just. Can't.

I do like the idea of matching up meanings though

Rowan I love, but dh won't like it.

I like Polly too, but dh isn't keen on it and has ruled out Daisy, Poppy and so forth as well.

I wouldn't mind but when asked for ideas all he says is "I dunno"
