Righteo, have name changed for this because I want to give my other DCs names and don't want people in RL to be able to identify me by them and read some of my other, more personal posts!

DH and myself have just discovered we're pregnant again, we thought we'd give it one last shot and if it happened it happened and if not no worries.

Well we're thrilled to pieces but a bit stuck on names! having 6DCS already we've used up a lot of our favourite names!

So far we have:
DS1, Archibald Edward (Archie) 16
DD1, Christabelle Edie Jocasta 15
DD2, Ottilie Violet Grace 11
DS2, Hamish Rupert 7
DD3, Antigone Lila Rae nearly 3
DD4, Flossie Isabella Rose 1

so does anyone have any wise suggestions? we quite like Fabrizia, Seraphina, Delphi, Yveline, Ivy, Regan, Kitty and Isolde and for DSs Xerxes, Apollo, Oberon (king of the fairies connotations though, maybe too cruel?) Caspian, Ptolemy, Horatio and Titus.
But none of these seem to REALLY grab us.

Of your girl's names, Kitty is the only one I like.

Afraid none of your boy's names grab me. I like the suggestion of Hector though - goes with hamish and archie better than the others which are too "grand" and florid for my liking. BUt of course you should go for a name you love....

blametheparents · 22/02/2009 10:35

Lovely names, but I think someone from RL would recognise you from those name, namechange or not! It is quite unusual to have 6 children, and they have distinctive names.
I really like Kitty
Would not go for Oberon.

Oh, there's some good suggestions here, primi, I do love Leontes and DH suggested it but sadly (and somewhat irrationally) I just can't get past my 6th form ENglish Lit teacher pronouncing it with too much saliva in his mouth in a very strong birmingham accent (nothing against people from brum btw, just the accent doesn't really do the name justice)
Lockets- Hero and Lysander are now on the list
Kickassangel dd3 is AN-TIG-ON-EE, we normally just call her Tiggy!
BoffinMum, you have just named 2 of our pets (Xanthe and Cosmo!) and xerxes is pronounced ZERK-ZEES
Pastures new, DH likes Orion!

I think what half the problem is is when we named the first few our names were very out there, but now names like Archie, Edie, Violet and Ottilie are becoming more popular, not necessarily a bad thing but we do want our DC to have quite an unusual name!

Keep 'em coming guys!

TomNook · 22/02/2009 16:51

FRIGGING NORA

what terrible names your kids have.

TomNook · 22/02/2009 16:52

YOU CANNTO CALL A KID HORATIO.

  1. its a comedy name
  2. or a cat's name £) Its child abuse
babynumber7 · 22/02/2009 16:57

TomNook, we happen to like a specific style of name, not everyone shares our tastes but we like that.
However its rather rude of you to come onto a thread just to post meaningless abuse, how is your post in any way constructive?

Just remember the world would be a very boring place if everyone was called Chloe, Jack, Katie or James!

TomNook · 22/02/2009 16:58

Yes. Arent you brightening our world.
Do you not hear a symphony of sniggers when you are out and about?

lottiejenkins · 22/02/2009 17:02

TomNook.......why do you feel the need to be so unpleasent? OP for what its worth i like the name you have chosen........

pramspotter · 22/02/2009 17:04
