• Zenith •

I named my boy it earlier this year, it’s a gender neutral name meaning the highest point in the sky.
Just posting this as a name suggestion to others who may not of heard of it before.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I quite like it... though for me it brings to mind for me a 2000AD 80s superhero of that name who was not a very nice or sympathetic character, but that's pretty niche

I quite like the fact you can shorten it to 'Zen'

AlwaysRightISwear · 01/08/2026 22:07

It's not a name.

Sherararara · 01/08/2026 22:07

Ok.

MakingLasagne · 01/08/2026 22:07

I know a female Zen. She’s Chinese and about 40

TheGardenPond · 01/08/2026 22:11

Years ago I taught siblings, Zephyr and Indigo, names which seem to fit this vibe. In case you have any more kids OP! I’ve also known of kids locally called Wilder and Story. Personally I name my DDs suffragette names. They had fantastic strong women’s names which I love.

HelenaWilson · 01/08/2026 22:12

If you live in or near London, he'll be called Zeniff at school.

Woodsock · 01/08/2026 22:12

I think it's a double glazing company.

court18 · 01/08/2026 22:13

Right OK.

OliviaBonas · 01/08/2026 22:14

Insurance Company

Randyforgiles · 01/08/2026 22:15

There was an older boy in my secondary school called Zenith Hunt and I still think it's the coolest name ever.

Needmorelego · 01/08/2026 22:16

It's not a name I would personally choose but it's also one I wouldn't bat an eyelid at or give much thought to (unless there were siblings called something like Peter and Jane because they don't really match 😂).

oldestmumaintheworld · 01/08/2026 22:16

Were you on crack!? Or spent too much time on Til Tok? It's as bad as the 60s when rock stars called their children things like Zowie and Moonboot. Look it up.

Zov · 01/08/2026 22:16

It's OK, but I prefer 'Quasar.'

“God knows I love you Jen, you’ve given me my two beautiful children - Zenith and Qasar”

this is a comedy sketch from The IT Crowd

Moonboot is much better! 😂

Ohfiddlestickscricket · 01/08/2026 22:18

if you search it in google it’s a taxi service. I would avoid it based on association.

Clearingaspace · 01/08/2026 22:19

Think I used to go to a nightclub called Zenith as a teen - but it’s an ok name

CleanSkin · 01/08/2026 22:20

Nope.

Namechangee11 · 01/08/2026 22:20

Truly it just says double glazing to me... It's awful.

Zov · 01/08/2026 22:21

Frank Zappa called his daughter Moon Unit yes, and his 3 other children were called Dweezil, Diva, and Ahmet. He sure liked the more unusual names! (Although, Ahmet isn't too rare.)

PancakeCloud · 01/08/2026 22:22

I feel like people on here pretty much poo poo every name except Christopher nn Kit and Charlotte. My experience is that names that might have been considered wacky in the past are now very normal. Zenith seems like a fine name, certainly unusual but not the most out there.

People only poo poo daft names, and to be fair, 4 out of 5 suggested on here are bonkers!

friedaklein · 01/08/2026 22:23

Will the next one be Nadir?

oldestmumaintheworld · 01/08/2026 22:23

My apologies - it was Moon Unit. But I was very young and it was a long time ago. And it isn't cool to give your child a name that will encourage either eye rolling or cruelty.
