Thoughts on Zenith as a gender neutral baby name suggestion

I named my boy it earlier this year, it’s a gender neutral name meaning the highest point in the sky.
Just posting this as a name suggestion to others who may not of heard of it before.

This must be a joke, right?

It was a tongue in cheek choice, prompted by the fact I find it unsurprising baby Zenith is a boy. Sam and Rowan would be nicer options, to my mind but there are plenty of choices.

Is Zenith same as Kenneth but with a Z?

Well, there was a TV producer named Kenith Trodd (famous for his Dennis Potter productions) so at least one other person thought so…

'Zenith' means 'the high point' and comes from astronomy.

If you are OK with that, so be it. Some companies, including insurance, are called Zenith. I don't think I would like to named Zenith.

He or she will be called, 'Zen'.

I've heard of it before. Firstly, its a famous Soviet camera brand. Used to be even used instead of the word "camera" - like, I took my Zenith with me. Secondly, its the name of St Petersburg football club, who's fans are quite famous for their neo nazi leanings.

In Russian its pronounced "Zenit".

Edited: deffo would not inflict it on a child. Its like some nutter aristocrat calling their kids Samovar or something equally nuts.

Agreed. At least Beowulf is a name, and suggests that the person might have passed or at least sat GCSE English… choosing Zenith as a name makes a person sound unfamiliar with words of multiple syllables
