• Zenith •

I named my boy it earlier this year, it’s a gender neutral name meaning the highest point in the sky.
Just posting this as a name suggestion to others who may not of heard of it before.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

“God knows I love you Jen, you’ve given me my two beautiful children - Zenith and Qasar”

this is a comedy sketch from The IT Crowd

I’d have gone with Zenith and Nadir.

Feejoah · 01/08/2026 23:33

Suggestion for sibling name: Maverick, nn Mav.
Or Ace. I have actually met two (boy) children called Ace. One in a v middle class Hampshire town, and the other in the hillbilly south of NZ.

fivepastmidnight · 01/08/2026 23:35

it sounds like a photocopier to me but if you like it .

KnickerlessParsons · 01/08/2026 23:39

Zenith and Nadir

I hope his middle name is 3000.

What is a "gender neutral" name?

You will have a little boy or a little girl. Some people need to go on parenting classes.

Mousespoons · 01/08/2026 23:48

Anyone suggested balonz or jimberley yet as an alternative?

kkloo · 01/08/2026 23:49

Screams boy name to me, not gender neutral.

Mousespoons · 01/08/2026 23:50

I guess equinox or halcyon kind of go on the same bracket

SowWhatNow · 01/08/2026 23:51

Makes me remember with affection our old, first computer back in the late 90s, a Zenith (Windows or Microsoft?) PC. Ahh, fun times. Lemmings on Floppy disc on the Zenith.

Terrible name though for a small human person. Sorry.

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 01/08/2026 23:55

I opened the thread hoping to see IT Crowd references and was not disappointed!

PyongyangKipperbang · 02/08/2026 00:38

I think its a bit of a naff attempt to be woke and younique, but its not the worst I suppose. But yes, I would assume boy, not at all gender neutral.

And if I was going for that I would spell it Xenith to go all in!

Were you on crack!? Or spent too much time on Til Tok? It's as bad as the 60s when rock stars called their children things like Zowie and Moonboot. Look it up.

That was frank zappa! Moonunit and Dweezil were the eldest!

friedaklein · 02/08/2026 00:43

Zowie Bowie changed his name to Duncan.

Zenith and Nadir

HAHAHAHA

There are plenty of other gender neutral names that have the advantage of actually being names. Leslie, for example.

Smoke him a kipper, he'll be back for breakfast

(Red Dwarf, Ace Rimmer!)

BitOutOfPractice · 02/08/2026 00:58

Op why were you keen on a gender neutral name?

DoAWheelie · 02/08/2026 01:01

It's the name of a faction of bad guys in a very popular video game (more than 40 million copies sold) and it's what I instantly first thought of.

ZebraZebraPig · 02/08/2026 01:06

And it’s a chicken shop in my area 🍗

JulietteHasAGun · 02/08/2026 01:31

It’s the zenith of “interesting “ names alright.

SerendipityCat · 02/08/2026 01:47

Staying with the heavenly theme, you could call your next child Apogee. The next could then be named Perigee, and I think you should also seriously consider Albedo.

IndigoBluey · 02/08/2026 01:55

I neither like or dislike it, much like other new world names. But I would disagree that it is gender neutral, it’s a female name. Immediately thought of Xena (same pronunciation as Zen) and she is a warrior princess. Zenith to me is a strong name for a girl 👧

IndigoBluey · 02/08/2026 02:01

Zov · 01/08/2026 22:59

I think we have all missed one salient piece of information on here. The OP has ALREADY called her son Zenith. Blush #awkward

No wonder she hasn't been back on the thread since her first post! 😬

Oops! I wonder how the OP didn’t realise the women warrior connection. Bit awkward actually. Maybe a wind up

Screams boy name to me, not gender neutral.

I would’ve assumed girl if she’d not said! I think the ‘ith’ ending/ sound is more feminine - Lilith, Gwyneth
