I wish I had thought about the name Miles when I had my son. I feel it's so warm and welcoming. Just for fun - what's people's opinions?

Perfectly fine name, but don’t see it much these days. Beats Jaxon

Firebird83 · 17/06/2026 22:25

Lovely.

BatshitIsTheOnlyExplanation · 17/06/2026 22:25

Honestly, it makes me think of The Proclaimers.

Hohofortherobbers · 17/06/2026 22:27

Love the name Miles

suburberphobe · 17/06/2026 22:27

Miles is a lovely name.

I know one, friend of my son.

Better than old fashioned ones like Charles or Edward. Or the horror Andrew.

Each to their own.

oliviaAustin · 17/06/2026 22:28

Cute. Quite a few of them popping up round me. That said I prefer Milo.

SpottyAlpaca · 17/06/2026 22:29

Sensible, solid, classless name, without being ridiculously popular. Passes the ‘High Court Judge’ test.

Nemorth · 17/06/2026 22:31

Most important person in Starfleet is called Miles.

Miles O’Brien. Chief Engineer of DS9.

Great name.

EffinMagicFairy · 17/06/2026 22:31

If I’d had another boy, he would have been a Miles.

msmolli · 17/06/2026 22:33

I like it cos I had a lovely boss called Myles. Prefer that spelling.

Alltheusefulitems · 17/06/2026 22:38

Its not a name I would chose because I dont think the L sound is nice. PP mentioned Milo, the L has to be sounded correctly there but Miles is more of a w sound depending on accent

Gateappreciation · 17/06/2026 22:40

Perfectly fine name. Always think it falls in the posh categorically.

Inwhitelights · 17/06/2026 22:45

I love it. Reminds of someone lovely ☺️

Hellometime · 17/06/2026 22:45

Makes me think of This Life. I do like it. Prefer Miles spelling to Myles.

hattie43 · 17/06/2026 22:48

I don’t like it . Maybe because it rhymes with Giles and I like that even less . I would also think it’s a middle class name .

PancakeCloud · 17/06/2026 22:48

Not for me but inoffensive

Artesia · 17/06/2026 22:49

Always sounds a bit of a damp and floppy name to me

ThatMintMember · 18/06/2026 00:11

Lovely! It was almost my sons middle name and is still on the list for if we have another boy!

TheSandgroper · 18/06/2026 00:31

Met some bloke the other day with a four month old.

Know of one about to finish school.

Also know a 55 year old Myles.

gottakeeponmoving · 18/06/2026 01:07

Fab name but Myles not Miles

SnobblyBobbly · 18/06/2026 01:36

I love the name Myles (not sure why but I prefer the y spelling)

SunIsGreat · 18/06/2026 01:46

Don't like but it's not a problematic name, just personal preference.

CeramicRoses · 18/06/2026 06:51

Milo is much nicer imo

Melsy88 · 18/06/2026 07:03

I (probably irrationally!) really hate the name!
Miles to me is a distance not a sweet name!

Milo is much nicer imo

I think Milo works well as a nickname for Miles, but I'm not so keen on Milo as an actual name!
